DC: Rise of the Kryptonian Tyrant

Chapter 92: Chapter 92

The night sky stretched wide and lonely, the stars scattered like faint, distant beacons.

Amid the boundless darkness, the camp stood as the sole island of light.

Within that light, chaos and destruction raged.

Jenny's enormous, grotesque body lumbered forward, stomping through the camp like an unstoppable war machine. Her monstrous form reduced the battlefield to rubble. With her overwhelming strength, she tore through tanks as if they were toys. She ripped an off-road vehicle from the ground, its tires spinning helplessly, and smashed it into the ground with a thunderous crash.

Flames erupted across the camp, engulfing everything in a sea of destruction. The air filled with the cacophony of screams, gunfire, explosions, and Jenny's guttural roars of rage.

"Supersonic weapons!"

"Laser cannons! Get them operational! Target her now!"

The soldiers scrambled to execute their orders, taking up the command General Vic had left behind.

But Jenny's keen hearing picked up their voices amid the chaos. Enraged, she grabbed a nearby military off-road vehicle and hurled it toward the officer barking orders. The vehicle struck with devastating force, crushing the officer instantly. Twisted metal and shattered glass scattered everywhere. Gasoline leaked from the ruined vehicle, mixing with the acrid stench of oil and smoke. Sparks ignited the fuel, triggering a fiery explosion that engulfed the wreckage.

The officer didn't even have time to scream. Against Jenny's superhuman strength, hundreds of tons of raw power, ordinary humans stood no chance.

Jenny's bloated, grotesque form was deceptively fast. She moved with terrifying speed, her massive frame belying her agility. Each of her blows landed with devastating precision, obliterating everything in her path.

No one in the camp was a match for her. The soldiers, despite their training, could do little more than die in her wake. They weren't Batman, they couldn't outmaneuver or evade a monster of her caliber.

Through all the chaos, Bardi remained at the camp's gate, unmoving. He watched Jenny silently, making no move to join the destruction.

To him, it felt as though Jenny was offering him a gift.

Deathstroke's memories echoed faintly in his mind, and for a moment, Bardi wondered if they were true, if Jenny had indeed been quietly guiding General Vic, ensuring that Bardi's existence remained a secret all this time.

If that were the case, then the relative freedom he'd had were thanks to her.

Bardi knew the pain of betrayal all too well. The deeper the love, the deeper the scars it left behind. Even now, the memories of his past haunted him, a torment that felt like it would never heal.

Some people leave marks on your life so deep that no amount of time can erase them. The more intense the memories, the more painful they become when revisited.

His experiences in his past life had left him wary of others. He found it difficult to trust anyone, knowing how easily people's loyalties could waver. For money, power, status, or fleeting pleasures, people would cast aside everything they once held dear.

Bardi knew this truth all too well.

But what he desired most, what he needed, was loyalty.

Loyalty unshaken by fear or greed. Loyalty that would follow him to the ends of the earth.

Now, as he watched Jenny rampage through the camp, an odd feeling crept into his heart. Amid the sea of fire and destruction, her monstrous form seemed almost... endearing. Like a reckless child throwing a tantrum, venting her frustrations on an anthill.

And all of it—for him.

A faint, bitter smile crossed Bardi's lips. Jenny's actions reminded him of his younger self—impulsive, desperate, consumed by love and anguish.

Why is love always so tormenting?

He sighed, the warmth of her actions melting a small part of the icy walls around his heart.

Every act of love, even those born of desperation or pain was selfish at its core. People didn't give love selflessly; they gave it in the hope of receiving love in return.

He understood that now.

Bardi tilted his head back and gazed at the night sky, his sharp red eyes reflecting the glittering stars above.

---

A deep hum suddenly reverberated through the camp.

It was the supersonic weapon, a device designed specifically to match Bardi's unique frequency. But now, it had been turned against Jenny.

Jenny, who had once been part of the team that provided the data for this weapon, recognized it immediately. She had sabotaged it with false information, creating an incomplete profile. Even so, she knew it would hurt.

As the weapon activated, Jenny leaped into the air, a feat that seemed impossible for a creature of her size. She came crashing down with earth-shaking force, shattering the vehicle carrying the supersonic weapon. The impact sent waves of debris and smoke rolling across the battlefield.

Amid the destruction, Jenny roared in agony. Her bloodshot eyes glistened as tears mingled with blood and poured down her grotesque face.

Two high-heat laser cannons mounted nearby turned toward her. The barrels glowed an ominous orange as they charged, their energy focusing on Jenny.

The twin lasers fired, searing through her shoulders with precision. Jenny howled in pain, the intense heat burning through flesh and bone.

Bardi's expression hardened.

His red eyes flared brightly, the skin around them glowing with fiery intensity.

PONG!

A powerful blast of heat vision erupted from his eyes, cutting through the air with devastating force. The red beams struck the barrels of the laser cannons just as they were about to fire again, causing them to explode in a shower of sparks and flames.

Bardi's head shifted slightly, his gaze locking onto another target. His heat vision flicked across the battlefield like a precision laser, striking down soldiers with unerring accuracy.

Each flash of red light marked another life extinguished.

Bardi stood motionless, his hands at his sides, his expression calm. He killed with nothing but his eyes, methodical and detached.

To the soldiers, it was as though a god had descended upon them, a god who wielded death with the cold precision of an executioner.

The final soldier's scream pierced the air as he was struck by a beam of heat. His body split in two, his torso crawling weakly across the ground as his internal organs spilled out. He reached out in vain, weeping, before succumbing to death.

The camp was engulfed in flames, the black smoke curling into the night sky like the fingers of a vengeful spirit.

Amid the devastation, Jenny's massive frame stood still. She looked like a burned-out husk, her body blackened and steaming, her shoulders oozing blood where the lasers had struck.

She remained upright, though every movement brought her fresh waves of pain.

Through the haze of agony, Bardi's heat vision felt like a distant ray of warmth, a fleeting comfort in her torment.

Her enormous eyes welled with blood as she stared at him.

So much pain...

So much sorrow...

But also so much love...

"Bar...di…"

Her voice was hoarse, barely audible, each word scraping through her ruined throat.

"I... still... can... hold... you...?"
