Chapter 50: Chapter 50: God of Destruction
[3rd POV]
'Can't say I was expecting to see them of all people' Wanda thought in interest as she glanced over the two of them. They were pretty strong, stronger than most of her guests, with only Death and Lucifer being stronger than both of them, although those two were stronger than anyone in the DBZ universe so...
"Whis, where in the hells are we?" Beerus asked, glancing around the shop, he noticed the books and the amount of them, as well as the oddity of the place. There were plants that he had never seen before, and the books all gave off a strange feeling.
"It would seem we are in a bookstore, my lord. Which is quite peculiar, considering it was but a red door upon our quaint little planet" Whis said with a small hum, as he looked around in interest, before both of them stopped on Wanda, who was smiling.
"I was wondering when I'd get a guest from your plane, but I can't say I expected it to be the God of Destruction and his Angel. I was expecting Kakarot or perhaps that Frieza fellow" Wanda said with a calm smile, not at all afraid of the two of them.
If anything, she was more interested in Beerus's power. His hakai was quite the interesting thing, and would be a great boon to her should she somehow manage to copy it from him. Ki would also be nice, but not as much of an importance, not when she had aura and chakra already.
"And who are you, woman?" Beerus questioned rather rudely. Wanda chuckled at the question and the rude tone he was taking. She wondered how he would react to her should she reveal her aura to him, if she were to show him that she could atomize him, his angel, and even the "Omni-King" with a single swipe of her finger.
But, she decided not to do anything just yet, as the arrogance was just a part of him, so she was already prepared to deal with it the second she saw him.
"I am Wanda Maximoff, the owner of my nice little bookstore. I sell books of all kinds from throughout creation, the rarest books that you will find nowhere else. I also sell different foods that are made by hand everyday, and are amongst the best of the best" Wanda replied, taking a sip of her tea as the purple cat God narrowed his eyes at the mention of food.
"Food? What kinds?" Beerus asked, he was quite the foodie, and it had been quite some time since he had last eaten anything worth his while.
"All sorts really, but I primarily focus on cafe foods, so cookies, muffins, stuff like that. Why, do you wish to purchase some?" Wanda asked, as the God of Destruction looked at her before grunting.
"I want one of everything on the menu" Beerus ordered. Wanda raised an eyebrow at the choice, before snapping her finger as the order came out from behind her, being planted on the counter. The smell that the different foods that they had ordered immediately began to fill the room, as Beerus practically drooled, his hand snapping forward to eat one, only for it to be blocked by Wanda.
"You pay first, and then you get your meal. You either pay through currency, an exchange of books worth enough, or through exchanging knowledge" Wanda said, smiling in a borderline creepy manner as the God of Destruction growled at her.
"I am the God of Destruction, mortal! I do not do something as trivial as paying for a meal" Beerus roared, as Wanda raised an eyebrow at him.
"Then you will not get your food. Either you pay, or you get out of my store, and you will be banned for life. Pick one" Wanda replied, not even caring for the look the man was giving her. The only reason he hadn't automatically been kicked out by the wards yet, was because she was keeping him inside, but if he kept acting like this? He would be the first person to ever be banned from her store.
An impressive feat, considering they had only met a couple of minutes ago.
"You!-" "My lord, perhaps we should just pay? The delicacies are incredible, and I must admit that her selection of literature is unique, so much so that I have never in my years of living, seen any of these books that she is selling" Whis cut off Beerus, deciding that that was enough. He had been browsing through the books while Beerus was starting his tantrum, and had found that he did not recognize any of them.
Some of them were entirely foreign to him, and there were even books on magic and other energies he had never heard of, which should be impossible, and yet this woman had them. Whis understood that whoever she was, she was far from ordinary, and it was likely best that they do not antagonize her.
"What?! Why should I? She disrespected me!" Beerus snarled back at Whis, who looked at his lord, unimpressed.
"Because I am quite confident that it will be worth it. And we have more than enough gold and books that we can trade, my lord. Or do you wish to never have these delicacies again? And with how incredible they smell, I'd say that would be a grave mistake" Whis replied, as Beerus stared at his trusted friend, before grunting.
"Fine fine, pay the woman for the food and whatever books you want" Beerus grumbled, as Whis walked over to the nearby bookshelf and grabbed one of every book he could, primarily the ones on magic, chakra, and books on sealing and some others. All of them levitating behind him as he walked back to the counter a few moments later, a smile on his face as he did so.
"Quite the haul. I suspect you're interested in the differences between them and ki?" Wanda asked, as the man nodded with a small smile on his face, as his guess was all but confirmed.
"Indeed. This chakra sounds very interesting, and the magic within these books is far different than our own, it is most intriguing really. Now, I'll pay with books of my own today, and in repayment for my lords...attitude, I'll add in a couple extra" Whis said as he tapped his large staff against the ground, several large stacks of books being shown to Wanda.
There were around 150 books in total, far more than what her books cost, but it seemed that Whis knew that too, but was paying her a lot more so that she wouldn't potentially ban them. A bribe in essence, and one that Wanda would obviously not...deny. She was shameless enough to accept a ton of new books, especially when they're all gifted by someone like Whis.
The books were bound to be rare and incredibly expensive. Making the deal more than worth it, as she flicked her finger, the books floating back behind her, as she smiled.
"Now you can have the food" Wanda said, as Beerus's hand snapped to one of the muffins and tossed it in his mouth, his eyes widening as he bit into it, a gleeful expression soon forming on his purple face.
"Mmmhmm, you were right Whis, this was certainly worth it" Beerus said with a pleased grin, as he swallowed the remains of the muffin, before grabbing another muffin while Whis had grabbed his own, biting into it with a lot more grace and not whole.
"Wow! I must say these are positively delicious! May we order some more? I have more books to exchange if need be" Whis asked, as Wanda raised an eyebrow.
"How many do you want?"
"100 of each!" Beerus said cutting in as he finished his next muffin, Wanda blinked at the request, before noticing Whis nod as Wanda chuckled, snapping her finger as dozens of muffins began to float out from behind her, all of them being taken by Whis who summoned his books.
The books were going into the back, while the food was coming out of the back. All the while they were munching on the other foods, with Whis enjoying the donuts quite a bit, while Beerus had found himself enjoying the cookies.
"Is that all, or do you wish to buy anything else?" Wanda asked, as Whis and Beerus glanced at one another, before they both shook their heads.
"That will be all for now. But I assure you we will be back for more of your food. Ah, and I'll be sure to bring more books next time!" Whis said with a smile, as he walked off, his lord leaving first with him coming after, the large bags of food floating out behind him.
Watching this all, Wanda had only one thought on her mind.
'...What a strange duo'

That's the end of the chapter!
She has officially met Beerus and was able to calm him without having to show off or anything. Although Whis already seems to have an idea of how powerful she is.
Anyways, have a good day!
