Chapter 49: Chapter 49: The Skeleton and The Doctor

[3rd POV]

Turns out they were indeed able to deal with the rest of them. With Bane himself fleeing after watching Lady Shiva get absolutely obliterated in a fight against Wanda, being knocked unconscious as if she was nothing more than a bug, a single tap of Wanda's finger had knocked her out. Someone like that was not worth the attempt at fighting, instead, it was better to flee in hopes that he could fight another day.

Wanda hadn't bothered to do anything about him, as she knew the Justice League would keep an eye out, and the Young Justice didn't focus on him either, as they had far more important things to deal with. Like making sure that the Kobra Venom wasn't taken off the island to be replicated by the Light.

In the case of the Kobra Venom, Wanda had looked through the venom itself and had found that it was a neat little thing, but weak. So using her powers she had strengthened it a decent bit, and then sent it off into one of the animal dimensions she had, allowing for it to be consumed by some of the creatures there. She had made sure to upgrade the venom so it wasn't painful and didn't make them mindless.

All it would do now was strengthen them, and also help them evolve faster and in different ways than before. Basically just improving on what was already there, without harming them in any way. She didn't want to hurt any of her pets, after all.

At the moment Wanda was back in her bookstore, sitting behind her counter as she watched Ainz look through a selection of her new books. The skeleton man had returned rather recently, and brought a selection of a little over 75 books with him, all of them unique and entirely new.

The skeleton had not come with anyone this time, coming entirely alone, which Wanda found herself slightly thankfully for as Albedo had been rather annoying last time she had come with him. Especially with the way she was constantly glaring at her and all. That loyalty ingrained into her very being was...a bit much, even to Wanda.

"You got a lot more new books than I had expected" Ainz said in surprise, as he looked over the new selection. There was literally hundreds of new books from the last time he had visited and all of them were special in some way or form, quite a lot of them being magical in nature with spells that he had never seen before.

"Yes well, some of my other customers brought in quite the haul" Wanda replied with a smile, as the door dinged, another customer walking in. This time it was the Doctor and Rose, who had brought in a large stack of books for her.

"Ah the Doctor and his beloved companion! I was wondering when I would see you again" WAnda said with a bright smile, while the two of them both looked at Ainz.

"Is that a walking skeleton?" Rose asked, slightly worried.

"Hmm? Oh you mean Ainz? I suppose you could say he is, but he's pretty chill, he comes from a world where magic exists. You're lucky one of his followers isn't here, now they can be...overwhelming" Wanda replied, as the Doctor couldn't help but walk over to the larger being.

"Fascinating! You are quite literally a walking skeleton! I've never seen anything like it! And I know that you spoke of magic existing, but I can't say I was expecting it to be of such a level" The Doctor said, as Ainz reached his hand out.

"Ainz Ooal Gown" Ainz said, as the Doctor shook his bony hand.

"The Doctor. And must I say, it is a pleasure to meet you. Would you perhaps be interested in talking for a little while after we finish our purchases with Wanda?" The Doctor asked as Ainz thought about it for a few moments before nodding.

"I don't see why not"

"Splendid! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a large stack of books to sell, and an even larger stack of books to buy" The Doctor said with a smile as he walked over to Wanda, placing the stack of books onto the counter, only to walk out of the shop for a few moments, returning with another stack. He repeated this three more times, bringing in a total of 87 books.

"Quite the group you've brought me. All of them alien, quite a few on new alien languages as well as history books to go with them. Even a few books on advanced sciences. And is that a few more Gallifreyan books that I see?" Wanda noted, glancing at the new gallifreyan books that she saw.

They were easily some of her favorite books to read when it involved science and mathematics. As they were not super long or anything, and they were all incredibly interesting and genuinely helpful, well...at least most of the time. Some of them tended to be strange and borderline useless to her.

"Indeed. I've found a few more books I am willing to part with that are just collecting dust within the Tardis. Thought they'd be better put to use in your hands, and anyone who decides to buy them" The Doctor replied with a smile, not caring too much about them, which is why he was so willing to sell them.

He was much more interested in the books that could only be found in Wanda's shop, books that did not exist in his universe, books that could potentially be immensely helpful, and even revolutionary, depending on which ones he decides to buy.

"Alright then. Are these all the books you're trading in?" Wanda asked, wanting to make sure, as the man nodded.

"Good, go ahead and pick out your selection, this should cover at least 30 books, mattering on which ones you end up buying" Wanda informed The Doctor, who smiled as he walked off, Rose walking to her corner to find some more romance books as usual.

Ainz watched the entire interaction silently, interested in talking to the Doctor the more he heard him speak. The man was obviously not from his universe or Wanda's, not only that, but it seemed that he was an alien with a lot of knowledge. Knowledge Ainz could potentially use if they were the pieces of knowledge.

The time lord had walked around the shop for the next 25 minutes, selecting a stack of books, while Rose had picked out her own books. This time she ended up switching it up and had gotten science fiction romance books, a couple of them, one of which was about a romance with a literal time traveler. Wanda wondered if the Doctor had noticed the obvious infatuation yet, or if he was just acting like he didn't realize. If he didn't actually know yet then she questioned his intelligence as the eyes she gave the man were...well, let's just say she made it very obvious she was into him.

After a few more minutes, The Doctor had walked back with his stack.

"Hmm, quite the selection you've got there. But your books should cover it" Wanda said with a smile, as she snapped her finger, the books being wrapped up into a neat stack for the man who gave her a grateful nod.

"Anything else you want?" Wanda asked, as the man shook his head.

"No I'm quite alright, instead I'll be taking this back to the Tardis and talking with my skeletal friend over there" The Doctor said with a smile as he walked off, leaving Wanda alone once more, as she sipped on her tea.

Looking over the books The Doctor had given her, she sent off most of them to the back, but decided to read some of the gallifreyan books, more specifically the ones on history and science. She found the gallifreyan and time lord history to be incredibly interesting, and she loved to learn about it whenever she could.

Reading the beginning of the book, Wanda hummed as she learned about the middle half of the timelord's Empire, of the growth of the Empire and of the development of the first Tardis. She wondered if she could create her own Tardis in the future, but she decided she wanted to do it the right way, and to do that, she needed to learn more of the sciences before then.

As she was reading through the book, the door rang once again. Wanda looked up expecting to see The Doctor, only for her eyes to widen in surprise as she gazed at the person who had entered.

One of the most powerful beings in his multiverse. Capable of obliterating universes should he go all out, a GOD. Alongside his trusted companion, an angel meant to teach his Lord, an angel even stronger than his own "Lord". The two men were...

Whis, the Angel and...

Beerus, the God of Destruction
