Chapter 23: ARA: CHAPTER 23

"Oh, what father? you look surprised father?" Ara jibbed at him. "Wasn't it obvious? I mean you gave birth to a lot of morons as sons anyways."

Ara sat on the throne smiling smugly "The throne looks so good on me you should be proud."

At the moment it didn't look the most glorious a trail of dead bodies littered the throne room the dancers, a few small Nobels, servants all dead as men dressed in black armour quietly swept out the bodies.

Vastus knelt before him with roriath and Laifeyar his mother "Mother you may rise."

"No, I am ashamed of you."

Ara growled "Ashamed of me? You should be proud. I have done what you have always wanted me to do. I have seized the throne."

Laifeyar sobbed "This is treachery, Ara you killed your brother, you killed the king of Alcon the only sorcerer in the land. Do you think at all?"

A wicked laugh shook the whole courtroom "Please mother spare me the tricks okay, I didn't kill anyone Regasus did."

Vastus temper flared "How dare you work with black knights to over throw me? You think King Hadeon will let a little boy rule over him?"

"Your right. King Hadeon must die, if I must rule peacefully." Ara drawled.

The lieutenant Abel Aidar was his name from earlier drew his sword to Vastus's neck "You dare to speak ill of my prince, I shall cut out your tongue."

Abel second son of Theor Aidar. Who was hanged, envied his brother Pilit who vastus offered the new position of royal guard for him to be here instead of Pilit he must have killed his brother "Meet my new head guard Abel, his competent is he not?" Ara chuckled.

They dragged some knights who survived before Ara on their knees they were the old knights the one's that survived the raided church. "Well, are they going to swear loyalty to me?"

A nameless one spat "Never."

Ara's eyes darkened "fine then, Roriath."

Roriath stood up drew his sword he cut the hands of the two knights behind him then threw a sword into the others throats, they were men from the emperors royal guards.

They all dropped dead before Ara's feet, Ara stepped on their faces "How dare you talk to your emperor like that?"

The shock on vastus face as Roriath stood at Ara's side shook him to the bones "You betrayed me."

Roriath Sneered at him "I don't need a weakling for an emperor, if you continue to rule, the south will evade us and kill us all and so you must die."

"How could you Roriath, I trusted you with my life." Vastus cried out.

Ara made a mockery of him "Oh roriath how could you? please shut it father."

"You are a failure of an emperor, I don't think you've adjusted to your predicament." Ara laughed.

"Behead him, Roriath."

"Curse you Ara, your evil deeds will be paid by blood. Everything you touch will turn to blood, I swear it by my name." Vastus growled.

Without hesitation roriath swung his sword "Stop." Ara smiled as he sword graze his father's neck.

His smile was so cruel Ara loved the look he saw in his father's eyes "I won't let you die in peace, you still have too much spirit..."

That look he had also seen in his grand father's eyes greatly pleased him as it was, FEAR.

"...I must crush you."
