Crazy Detective: I Have The System To Change The World.

Chapter 13: Chapter 13

The room erupted into an inferno of gunfire. Dozens of weapons opened fire simultaneously, their muzzle flashes strobing like a deadly disco light show. Bullets slammed into Kai's uniform with brutal force.

'If not for this suit...'

Kai thought, feeling each impact that should have torn him apart. His system interface flashed damage reports:

[Uniform integrity: 98%]

"He's not going down!"

"What the hell is he wearing?"

At that moment Kai's silencer answered their panic with whispered death.

His enhanced senses tracked every target, his movements flowing like liquid darkness between their formations.

'Elite soldiers?'

he thought bitterly, watching their supposedly superior training fail against Nemesis power.

'Money can't buy true justice.'

He thought.

immediately a mountain of muscle charged him, combat knife glinting. "Die, you son of a—"

CRACK! The man's wrist shattered in Kai's grip.

Two more flanked from behind the marble pillars. Kai's enhanced hearing picked up their breathing, their heartbeats, their trigger fingers tensing. Two shots, two bodies fell to the floor.

"Demon!"

someone screamed as Kai moved faster than human eyes could track. "He's not human!"

'You have no idea,' Kai thought, his fists and bullets turning the pristine warehouse into a slaughterhouse. These men had sold their skills to evil - now they were paying the price.

But they kept coming, an endless stream of black-clad figures emerging from hidden passages like ants from a disturbed nest.

Then his interface flashed:

[Target in a car]

'Running again,' Kai's fury peaked. 'Always making others die for your crimes.'

Bodies of elite soldiers lay scattered through blood-stained halls as Kai sprinted forward, his enhanced muscles burning with purpose. His interface painted an escape route in urgent blue lines.

'Not this time, Leo. No more running.'

At that moment all the men were down, then Kai walked closer to the man has been investigating for years.

Without allow the man to say any words he shut him on the head.

*

Outside Leo couldn't drive the car, it has refused to start.

Without wasting anymore time he came down and ran into one of room hide.

At that moment Leo froze in place as the masked figure stepped out of the shadows, the faint hum of shattered glass beneath his boots breaking the tense silence.

His eyes darted across the intruder's frame, every movement too familiar for him to dismiss.

His throat went dry as the realization hit him like a sledgehammer.

"Kai?"

he whispered, his voice barely audible.

"No... no, this can't be. You're dead. I—I saw you die."

His words tumbled out in broken fragments, disbelief and fear tightening his chest.

immediately he stumbled back a step, as though the distance might make the impossible less real. However the figure didn't answer.

At that moment the silence became suffocating. Kai raised the pistol, the barrel aligning with the center of Leo's forehead. The movement was slow, deliberate, and unyielding.

Leo's hands shot up instinctively, trembling as if they alone could shield him.

"Wait—Kai, please!"

he sputtered, his voice cracking. "You don't have to do this!"

Kai's eyes, hidden beneath the mask, bore into Leo with an intensity that spoke louder than words ever could. He remained still, the gun a silent warning.

Leo's knees threatened to give out as a cold wave of fear crashed over him.

"Think about this!"

he pleaded, his words rushed, fully of desperate.

"If you kill me—if you kill anyone—they'll come for you. You'll be arrested, Kai! and Charged with murder!"

However the pistol didn't waver.

Leo's breath hitched, and his voice dropped, edged with panic.

"Fine! Fine, I swear—I won't say a word. No one will hear about the warehouse from me. You have my word. Just... just lower the gun."

The tension in the room was a living thing, thick and unrelenting as Kai stood motionless, his silence bearing the weight of judgment.

At that moment Leo swallowed hard, his words echoing in the stillness.

Kai's gaze didn't waver, the gun still aimed at Leo's forehead. The silence stretched long enough to make Leo's knees shake.

Then, without a word, Kai lowered the pistol, slipping it back into its holster.

At that moment Leo let out a shaky breath, his shoulders sagging in relief.

"Kai…" he began, his voice unsteady,

"I knew you'd see reason. I knew you wouldn't—"

The words died in his throat as Kai stepped forward, his movements calm, almost mechanical. Before Leo could react, a glint of steel flashed between them.

The blade plunged into his chest with brutal precision.

Leo's eyes widened in sheer disbelief, his mouth opening as if to form words, but only a strangled gasp escaped.

His trembling hands clutched at Kai's arm, trying to push him away or pull him closer—he didn't know which.

At that moment blood seeped through his fingers, staining the fabric of Kai's sleeve.

"You…"

Leo rasped, his voice barely above a whisper. He struggled to keep his gaze locked with Kai's, searching for something—remorse, hesitation, anything—but all he saw was cold looking mask.

"You have no idea… what's coming for you."

Kai said nothing, watching as the life drained from Leo's eyes. He eased the blade free, stepping back as Leo's body crumpled to the floor, the echo of his collapse swallowed by the stillness of the room.

At that moment the system sounded.

[Mission Completed]

The system's voice cut through the silence, cold and unwavering, as if it had been waiting for this very moment.

[Be prepared for madness, only a madman can go against all the injustice in this world.]

At that moment Kai's lips pressed into a thin line. Madness? he thought. Maybe that's what I've become—what I need to become. A sane man wouldn't stand a chance in this world, not against people like Leo. Not against everything they've built.

The message continued, indifferent to the blood cooling on the floor behind him.

[Host weaponry has been improved.]

[Added 20 points to all Host attributes.]

[Host stats has improved:

immediately Kai flexed his hands, feeling a surge of power ripple through his body. It wasn't just strength—his mind felt sharper, faster. Every detail of the room seemed to sharpen in his vision, and his heart beat with a cold rhythm, steady and controlled. The system wasn't just upgrading his abilities; it was refining him, piece by piece, turning him into something unrecognizable.

'Maybe that's the price of justice' he thought.

'You lose who you were to become what's needed.'

He glanced once more at the still form of his former partner, lying in a pool of crimson.

"You had choices, Leo,"

he muttered under his breath, his voice devoid of emotion.

"And you chose this."

Turning around, Kai left the room without looking back. The heavy door clicked shut behind him, muffling the echoes of the past that still lingered within.

He stepped into the cool night air,

His bike sat waiting for him like a loyal beast, its dark frame blending into the shadows.

Kai mounted the bike, gripping the handlebars as the system chimed again.

[Bike has been upgraded.

Invisibility has been added.]

A shimmer rippled across the bike's surface, and then it vanished entirely.

At that moment Kai stared at the empty space where it had been, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.

"A machine made for a ghost. Fitting."

He let out a quiet breath, steadying his thoughts. There's no going back now. Not after this. The weight of his actions didn't bother him as much as it probably should have. Leo had made his choices, and he had simply delivered the consequences of his actions.

Twisting the throttle, he felt the engine purr beneath him—a sound only he could hear.

The world doesn't need a savior. It needs a weapon, he thought as the invisible bike surged forward, blending into the night.

Kai gripped the handlebars of his bike, his fingers tingling with anticipation.

The system's voice still echoed in his mind, and he couldn't resist testing the new upgrade.

"Invisible mode,"

he murmured under his breath.

A faint shimmer passed over the bike, and suddenly, he felt like a ghost.

He glanced at a nearby shop window, where the streetlights illuminated the glass. The reflection showed nothing. No bike, no rider—just the empty street behind him.

immediately Kai's lips curled into a satisfied smile.

"So, it's true. Not a trace of me left. Perfect."

He revved the engine and launched the bike forward. The sound was barely a whisper, the upgraded machine was like a predator in the quiet night. As he sped through the city, the familiar blue markers of the system guided his path.

The thrill of invisibility coursed through him, a reminder of how far he'd come since that night of betrayal.

Rounding a corner, the faint wail of sirens reached his ears. Moments later, he saw the flashing lights of an ambulance racing down the opposite side of the road, followed closely by a convoy of police cars. Kai slowed slightly, letting the scene unfold before him. The vehicles were heading in the direction of the warehouse.

His eyes narrowed as a quiet laugh escaped his lips.

"So, they've finally arrived. Too late, as always."

He twisted the throttle again, the invisible bike surging forward. As the sirens faded into the distance, his smirk deepened.

"The bastard is dead. Justice is served."
