Crazy Detective: I Have The System To Change The World.

Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Not long after Kai arrived at his home and he parked the invisible bike outside, the quiet hum of the engine fading into the night. With a flick of his wrist, the bike reappeared, its sleek black frame glinting under the dim porch light. He stepped off, the weight of the evening pressing heavily on his shoulders.

quietly he started walking towards the house but the word Leo said kept on bothering him.

without being told he knows Leo wasn't the main man in all of these, so does the man he has been tracking, both him and Leo were just workers, working for someone far bigger and powerful.

Although Kai wanted to put an end to everything quickly, but as it stands he doesn't know much, and who ever is behind this devilishly act, he's not going to rest until the country and families gets justice.

Shutting the door behind him, Kai let out a long breath. The house was silent, save for the faint creak of the floorboards beneath his boots. The system mask disappeared and he leaned against the wall, his thoughts spiraling.

"It's done,"

he thought, his mind still flashing back to the lifeless bodies of Leo and the man he had hunted for so long.

"After all these years... it's finally over."

However instead of satisfaction, a strange emptiness gnawed at him. The power coursing through his veins felt restless, like a caged beast waiting to be unleashed. He glanced at his hands, flexing them as if expecting something to happen.

"I have the power now. It's not like it disappears between missions. So why am I sitting here, waiting?"

The system's missions had been clear, focused. They had given him purpose. But now, the thought of waiting for the next directive felt... wrong. He had the tools to make a difference, to bring justice in ways the law never could.

"Why waste time standing by?"

At that moment Kai straightened, his jaw tightening.

"No,"

he muttered to himself.

"I'm not just going to sit around waiting for orders."

The decision came as naturally as breathing. He pushed off the wall and began pacing the room.

The police station had been his starting point, where he'd fought for justice in a broken system. Perhaps it was time to return—not as the old Kai, but as someone who could do what the badge alone couldn't.

immediately His fists clenched with resolve.

"If the system won't give me a mission right now, I'll create my own. There's no shortage of injustice in this city."

With that thought cemented, Kai decided to get some sleep, tomorrow is going to be another stressful day, and he could feel it.

However things has changed now, He would go back to the police station—not as the man they thought they'd lost, but as the shadow they never saw coming.

It was the next morning Kai wake up feeling relaxed and calm, he was expecting a mission from the system but he didn't get any, so he decided to head for work.

" I need money to also settle my bills, I Can't be going around the city, fighting for injustice with an hungry stomach."

Not long after Kai took his bath and put on his jacket heading to work.

However this time he went with taxi.

Not long after he arrived.

Without wasting anymore time Kai pushed open the heavy glass door of the police station, the familiar scent of stale coffee and disinfectant hitting him like a wave. The hum of quiet conversations and ringing phones filled the air.

He hadn't set foot here in weeks, not since the night everything fell apart.

He walked to the front desk, where a middle-aged woman with a round face and a bored expression sat typing on her computer.

Her uniform strained slightly against her frame as she leaned forward, her fingers clacking lazily on the keyboard.

She didn't bother to look up, assuming he was just another citizen with a complaint.

"What's the issue?"

she asked flatly, her eyes glued to the screen.

Kai stood silently for a moment, waiting for her to notice him.

When she didn't, he cleared his throat.

"I'm here to see if my spot is still open."

Upon hearing the word the woman froze mid-typing, her fingers hovering awkwardly over the keys. Slowly, she turned her head toward him, her brow furrowing in confusion. Then her eyes widened, the color draining from her face as recognition set in.

"Kai?"

she whispered, her voice trembling. "No... no way. You—you're supposed to be—"

"Dead?"

Kai finished for her, his tone even.

Her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, struggling for words.

Without another glance, Kai stepped past her, leaving her gaping at his back as he headed straight for the chief's office.

Moments later, Kai was seated in front of his boss, Chief Harris, a grizzled man with silver streaks in his hair and a reputation for being as sharp as he was skeptical. The older man leaned forward, his elbows resting on the cluttered desk as he studied Kai with wide, disbelieving eyes.

"Where the hell have you been, Kai?"

Harris demanded, his voice gruff but tinged with genuine shock. "How in God's name are you alive? We thought—we thought you'd been killed. The reports said you were attacked by a wild animal inside the underground tunnel. A damn tiger that escaped from the zoo nearby! We found blood—your blood, and Your panther found your body everything gotten, and your DNA confirmed everything, and the tiger what captured that same morning."

upon hearing what the chief just said, Kai shifted in his seat, his expression carefully neutral.

"I survived,"

he said simply, his voice steady.

"I didn't come back right away because... I was scared. I didn't know what to do."

Harris leaned back, his eyes narrowing.

"Scared? Of what? You're one of the toughest men I know, Kai. What aren't you telling me?"

Kai took a slow breath, his gaze fixed on the desk.

"I was shot,"

he admitted, his voice quieter now. "By my partner."

"What?"

Harris's tone sharpened, disbelief etched into every syllable.

"Leo? Are you saying Leo shot you?"
