Crazy Britain:They’re All Raising Me

Chapter 193: Ritsuka Fujimaru

No matter what he felt inside, Guinevere still chose to answer Bavanzi's question honestly:

[Guinevere: Well... if you really must know, the Morgan of Proper Human History did have several children, and Mordred is indeed the youngest among them.]

[While technically speaking, the Proper Human History's Morgan and our Queen Morgan are not the same person—just like King Arthur shouldn't be equated with the Artoria you know—still, in a sense... yes, Mordred does count as your sister.]

There was no point in hiding it. This wasn't something that could be kept secret, and it was better to clarify from the start the distinction between the Morgan of Proper Human History and the Morgan of the Fairy Kingdom.

[Bavanzi: I see... So she really is my little sister!]

At the same time, Bavanzi's gaze began scanning Mordred up and down. After a moment, she nodded with satisfaction:

[Bavanzi: Hm... As expected of my sister from Proper Human History. She looks smart and capable—just like me!]

[Guinevere: Huh?]

Artoria was the bane of her existence, yet Mordred was suddenly "smart and capable"? That was the most blatant double standard Guinevere had ever seen.

Still, something else was bothering him more.

[Guinevere: So... you actually have a good impression of her?]

This surprised Guinevere a little. Based on his past experiences with Bavanzi, wouldn't she normally be fuming with jealousy?

[Bavanzi: Of course! She's the daughter of our beloved Mother, after all! Don't worry, as the elder sister, I'll take good care of my little sis from now on!]

[Guinevere: ...Elder sister?]

Her wording threw Guinevere for a loop.

[Bavanzi: Isn't it obvious? I'm over a hundred years old now, right? Most of Mother's other children in Proper Human History were humans, so there's no way they're older than me!]

[Bavanzi: That means I'm the eldest sister by default!]

For a moment, Guinevere was stunned. It sounded oddly convincing at first... but that's not how birth order worked! Still, seeing Bavanzi's proud little expression, he chose not to burst her bubble.

But there was still one thing he couldn't quite figure out.

[Guinevere: Don't you feel jealous? That you're not Queen Morgan's only daughter? Doesn't it make you feel... disappointed?]

[Bavanzi: Emmmmm... I guess I would've, if this were before. But now? Not at all.]

[Bavanzi: Because I've already heard it from Mother herself—I'll always be her most beloved daughter.]

Ah, that must've been during the end of the previous simulation.

Hearing that, Guinevere finally felt relieved.

So in the end, only Morgan herself could truly heal Bavanzi's emotional wounds. With that resolved, he now had one less thing to worry about.

But just then, Mordred suddenly spoke:

"So, why're you so interested in me? That's mighty suspicious." She shot Bavanzi a wary glance. "My mother is that bastard Morgan—got a problem with that?"

"Bastard Morgan...?"

The warm affection Bavanzi had just begun to feel for Mordred evaporated in an instant.

"...Decision made. I'm definitely going to discipline you later."

"Oh? Wanna fight? Makes no sense, but sure—bring it on," Mordred grinned dangerously. "You wouldn't be the first arrogant fool I've cut down."

[Bavanzi: It's settled then. I'm going to properly educate this unruly little sister. Guinevere, don't even think about stopping me.]

Guinevere sighed, covering his face in frustration.

Great. Another walking powder keg.

[Guinevere: Look, calm down. I'll explain it all properly later. The Morgan from Proper Human History is very different from our Queen Morgan.]

"Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Jekyll."

At that moment, Ritsuka Fujimaru trotted over and extended her hand.

"My turn to introduce myself. I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru, a field agent from the Chaldea Security Organization. It's an honor to meet a gentleman as handsome, elegant, and charming as you."

Behind her, Mash had a worried expression, likely due to how recklessly Fujimaru had approached Guinevere. Even Mordred at Guinevere's side gripped her sword instinctively, ready to act if anything suspicious happened.

"—Surprising. Miss Ritsuka Fujimaru, you're an ordinary human, aren't you?" Guinevere adjusted his glasses and spoke calmly. "Are you sure it's wise to separate yourself from your Servant's protection like this?"

"Trust is built with sincerity," Fujimaru said brightly, seemingly without a care. "You intervened to stop the fighting and showed good faith first. If I were to keep doubting you after that, wouldn't that be a bit unfair?"

"Besides, like you said—I'm just a regular person. Even if something happens to me, Chaldea has stronger agents who can take over. No need to be overly cautious, right?"

Guinevere raised an eyebrow, studying her closely. Beneath his glasses, a trace of admiration flickered in his eyes.

He could understand her move.

Right now, London was blanketed in mysterious and dangerous fog. Just moments ago, the Chaldeans had been in combat with Bavanzi. To Guinevere, Bavanzi, and Chaldea alike, none of them were fully trustworthy. Everyone was guarded.

In such a tense standoff, even if Guinevere had initiated talks, a meaningful alliance would be hard to form while mutual distrust lingered.

But Fujimaru walking away from Mash's protection and extending her hand—this act of trust placed her life in Guinevere's hands. At the same time, it sent a clear signal: they were genuinely seeking cooperation.

Even if Guinevere hadn't recognized the gesture, the outcome was the same—tension eased, and future collaboration became possible.

Her move also helped redeem Chaldea's image after Kiyohime's earlier outburst. If someone didn't know her character, they'd probably develop a poor opinion of Chaldea because of her.

And her line about being expendable wasn't just bravado—it was strategic messaging:

She was just a regular person, not an irreplaceable asset. If they wanted to attack Chaldea, killing her would mean nothing.

Outwardly, it all seemed reckless and impulsive—but the deeper implications showed sharp calculation and composure.

It moved Guinevere.

Considering what she'd done during Singularity F—dodging Black Saber's Noble Phantasm with just her default Mystic Code to protect Mash—her decisiveness and courage, not to mention her finesse in social maneuvering...

—This is what you call a "normal person"? Seriously?

He'd originally assumed this version of Ritsuka Fujimaru would be a generic, blank-slate protagonist like in the game. But clearly, he'd vastly underestimated her.

After all, she was humanity's savior. Even if she wasn't fully grown into the role yet, her extraordinary potential was already on full display.

No wonder, among the monster-filled A-Team, only the captain and one mysterious freak survived through Part 1—but Fujimaru reached the same heights, and even surpassed them.

For someone leading powerful Servants, magic prowess mattered less than this kind of wisdom.

"...I see."

Guinevere nodded and took her hand.

"The organization that seeks to save humanity, huh? It's a pleasure to meet you, Ritsuka Fujimaru."

As their hands touched, Guinevere noticed something else unexpected.

Her palm trembled slightly, and her skin was damp with a sheen of cold sweat.

He glanced at her, and for just a moment, saw a flash of unease in her eyes.

—She wasn't as fearless as she pretended to be.

So she really was just a normal girl.

But even though she was scared out of her mind, she knew this was something only she could do. And so she stood up, and did it anyway.

In a school setting, she might have just been a clever, slightly scheming girl. But here and now, with the fate of humanity on her shoulders, she had no choice but to grow up—fast.

That blend of fear and strength, of courage born from responsibility... No wonder so many heroic spirits respected her, even fought to their last breath for her.

Even Guinevere, against his will, felt a rising urge to help ease her burden.

"...You really are a difficult girl to dislike."

He gently placed his other hand over hers and smiled.

"Now then, Ritsuka Fujimaru, tell me more about this Chaldea of yours. I look forward to our cooperation."

Hearing this, she visibly relaxed and beamed.

"That's wonderful to hear!"

And so, even though Guinevere probably knew more about Chaldea and the Singularities than even Romani did, he still listened patiently as they explained everything to him all over again.

"So that's it. This version of London is one of the seven Singularities anchoring the world's history? And it became this way due to interference by the Demon God King?"

"That's right," Ritsuka nodded. "Mr. Jekyll, you really are well-read. You understood everything so quickly."

Mash then cautiously asked:

"Excuse me—sorry to be rude, Mr. Henry Jekyll? Your name..."

"It matches the character from the novel, right? Is that a coincidence, or are you the inspiration for that story?" Romani added curiously. "Mash, can you sense any Servant energy from him?"

"I'm afraid not. The magical density in the fog is too thick. I can't pinpoint their presence... But seeing as he wears a mask to move around, he's probably... human, right?"

"Of course I'm human," Guinevere replied coolly. "It's probably just a common name. Let's not dwell on it. Since you've explained how London ended up like this, I'll share what I know about the current situation here."

"—But before that, let me ask you something: since arriving here, have you had any dreams?"

"Dreams?" Mash and Romani exchanged confused looks.

"So none yet... And Chaldea's analysis of the fog—do you just see it as a high-magic-density environmental hazard toxic to humans?"

"Isn't that what it is?" Romani blinked. "As long as someone has magic circuits, shouldn't they be fine breathing in the fog?"

Hearing that, Guinevere frowned.

"That's not nearly cautious enough. This fog is dangerous even for Servants."

And as if to prove his point—at that exact moment, Ritsuka Fujimaru, standing by his side, suddenly swayed and collapsed forward.

Guinevere instinctively reached out and caught her before she hit the ground. But as he looked down at her, he heard the faint sound of soft breathing.

She had fallen into a deep slumber, lulled by the fog.
