Celestial Overlord: The path of conquest

"Ahh!", A guttural roar escaped Xie Long's mouth despite his resilience. He tried to grit his teeth and bear the pain but the pain was so uncontrollable that a roar escaped his mouth.

"This much pain is nothing. What right do you have to posess this divine pagoda if you can't even tolerate this much pain", Xiaoqian spoke with a dismissive attitude. At this moment, her appearance seemed like that of a little devil rather than a little fairy to Xie Long.

Xiaoqian waved her hand and another sword appeared before Xie Long. With a wave of her hand, the sword came stabbing towards his chest.

"Shh!", Xie Long gritted his teeth and endured the pain. By the time Xiaoqian finished her torture, his appearance resembles that of a hedgehog. Blood poured out of his seven orfices as he endured an unimaginable amount of pain. He finally couldn't endure anymore as he felt both mentally and physically weak. His consciousness gradually drifted away as he fell on the ground.

'His will power is amazing. If nothing goes wrong, no one can stop him from becoming a supreme expert', Xiaoqian though to herself. A look of appreciation appeared on her beautiful face as she looked towards Xie Long.

She waved her hand and a gentle energy carried away Xie Long's body. She moved from her position and appeared beside a calm looking pool. Xie Long's body followed after her and the gentle energy dropped his body in the calm looking pool.

"This pool is made up of thousand petal divine lotus elixir. Even back in our empire, I do not have such fortune to cleanse my body and soul with this kind of divine water.

Little brat, cherish this opportunity. I will make sure to cleanse your body and soul thoroughly. As long as you can bear the pain, you will turn into a changed person by the time you leave this divine pool", Xiaoqian muttered.

She didn't know herself, why she was helping Xie Long so much. It was a whimsical idea at first but Xie Long continued to bring out surprises for her. She had a feeling that Xie Long could become an extraordinary cultivator in the future. She had no expectation from Xie Long but she decided to help him as much as possible. His current plight brought out the sympathy within her and his tenacious will made her want to help him.

"At least I can do this much to help out someone so gifted", she thought to herself.

Xie Long felt like he had slept for a long time. His body felt very relaxed and mind was peaceful by the time he woke up from his slumber.

"It is not the time to stay relaxed. Come out and we can start again", Xiaoqian spoke.

"What? Is the previous time not enough?", Xie Long asked with a dumbfounded expression on his face. 'No one in sane mind would want a second round of torture like this', he thought to himself.

Despite his unwillingness he came out from the divine pool and stood infront of Xiaoqian.

Although he was weary of previous pain, he steeled his nerves and spread both of his in an inviting gesture.

"Good. I am starting", Xiaoqian nodded her head. This time Xie Long didn't make a sound as sword after sword stabbed through his body. He endured for a while before falling unconscious.

Xiaoqian put him inside the divine pool and waited for his awakening. Xie Long lost count of how many times he had fallen unconscious. As soon as he recover, Xiaoqian would put him through this hellish torture. She would stop only after all the blood inside him squeezed out of his body.

Xie Long didn't notice but a strange glowing symbol started to materialize between the midpoint of his eyebrows. The symbol had a violet hue and Xie Long was looking extremely dashing with the strange symbol in between his eye brows. Even Xiaoqian couldn't help but take few looks at his face when he was sleeping peacefully in the divine pool.

Beside the violet symbol, few eerie looking obscure symbols started to appear on the forehead of Xie Long. But their appearance was very faint in comparison to almost materialized violet coloured symbol.

'This is as I have predicted. His maternal bloodline is about to awaken completely but his paternal bloodline is only showing signs of awakening. This divine pool may not be sufficient for his paternal bloodline 's complete awakening', Xiaoqian pondered inside her mind.

Energy clouds started to gather above Xie Long as the violet symbol in between his eye brows started to become completely materialized. Loud rumbling sounds were heard as lightning cackled among the energy clouds.

"Lightning energy and dark energy, what a strange combination. Generally, lightning energy is the bane of dark energy but Xie Long has no such weakness. Both the energy are able to coexist harmoniously inside his body!", Xiaoqian though to herself. She continued to observe the changes in Xie Long's body as he was sleeping peacefully inside the divine pool.

Xie Long awoke from his sleep startled as he felt a sudden tremor inside his body. Lightning cackled around him loudly as the violet symbol became completely materialized.

Xie Long felt an unprecedented power coursing through his body as he clenched his fists. Lightning energy poured into his body automatically as the violet symbol glowed with a shining hue.

"Congratulation. You have awakened one of your ancestral marks. It seems like none of your parents has an ordinary background", Xiaoqian spoke.

"Thanks princess. It is only because of your help that I am able awaken my maternal bloodline. I will continue to rely on your kind advice in future", Xie Long spoke after bowing gratefully to Xiaoqian. He couldn't express how much grateful he was feeling for her kind help.

"You can come out of the divine pool now. Your body can't be cleansed any further with the thousand petal divine lotus elixir", Xiaoqian spoke.

"Princess, I have a question. Have you used this divine pool's water to cleanse my poison?", Xie Long asked.

"Yes, the thousand petal divine lotus is a supreme treasure of heaven and earth. A mere mortal poison is nothing infront of the elixir prepared from its petals", Xiaoqian replied.

"Then can I bring my mother inside the divine pagoda? She can recover with the help of divine pool", Xie Long looked towards Xiaoqian with an expectant expression on his face.
