Celestial Overlord: The path of conquest

"A fool has a fool's luck. When I looked outside, I couldn't believe my eyes that such a precious artifact is hanging around your neck", the beauty commented as she accurately predicted Xie Long's thoughts.

"Father", Xie Long clenched his fists. Only now he realised, how much his father cared about him.

'Father, wait for a while. I will come to find you soon. I have this pagoda now. So, I will get stronger and find a way to cure mother's illness', Xie Long vowed inside his mind. As soon as he thought things through, he became clear headed. Although he was still anxious about his household's fate, he decided to cast his worries aside.

"Princess, please guide me. I want to get stronger", Xie Long looked towards the beauty with a determined expression on his face.

"You really have a good attitude. I have decided to take you as my follower. You can call me princess Xioqian from now on", the beauty replied. She was slightly pleased after seeing how respectful Xie Long was towards her.

"You have an excellent aptitude for cultivation. Previously, you couldn't cultivate because you were poisoned. I have taken a look at your body. You are probably poisoned since your infancy. I can predict this much because this poison has penetrated deep into your body. Everything including your spirit root, dantian, bone marrow were affected. It is your luck that your paternal bloodliine is mighty. Without it, you could have died earlier", Xiaoqian spoke. Her nonchalant expression slightly became serious as she mentioned about the poison.

"Poison!, mother's illness and my inabily to cultivate. Now I understand. It is all connected. Who in the world has such a grudge that they poison my mother when she is pregnant?", Xie Long muttered. When he spoke the last line, the atmosphere slightly changed. An invisible aura came out of him as he felt his rage and hate overflowing.

Faint dots of black started to appear in his eyes as he felt a simmering rage inside his mind. All the pores of his body started to get open. An invisible force emerged from his body as it sucked away the nearby energy.

Generally, Xie Long was very intelligent. He knew how to curb his temper to not get into a precarious situation. Despite his hot temper, he knew how to control himself. Long years of powerlessness and his inability to cultivate taught him patience and humility. But at this very moment, it seemed like he was losing control of himself. An invisible aura started to spread out as something new emerged within him. It was like a slumbering dragon which had awaken after millions of years of slumber. It's mere presence was enough to shake the entire word.

"What a powerful and sinster energy. It is somewhat similar to those devil folk I have seen before. But even their leader didn't have such bloodline pressure", Xiaoqian murmured to herself. She stared at Xie Long with unblinking eyes as she observed each change happening to him.

Xie Long's body started to absorb heaven and earth energy on it's own. His rate of absorption was so much that a small energy whirlpool appeared above his head.

As for Xie Long himself, he heard a faint calling inside his mind. As he absorbed more and more heaven and earth energy, the calling gradually became clearer. An ancient looking symbol appeared inside his mind. As he probed the symbol inside his mind, his consciousness got pulled away.

"It is too monstrous. He has only started cultivation and already established a connection with the bloodline sea!", Xiaoqian muttered to herself. A look of utter disbelief appeared on her face as she stared at Xie Long.

Xie Long found himself in a pitch black world after his consciousness got pulled inside the symbol. Despite the darkness, he could see everything inside the world. A strange sense of feeling came to his mind as if he was a lost traveller who had finally found his home.

He looked around curiously and found numerous indistinguishable figures standing around him. He tried to see the nearby figure and to his delight, the indistinguishable figure gradually became clearer.

The figure was of a middle aged man with long hair and pitch black eyes. His forehead had few strange looking symbols which made his appearance more imposing. Infront of Xie Long, he raised his hand and countless spear tip like projectiles rained down from the sky. The attack seemed to cover heaven and earth as Xie Long observed the attack with rapt attention. As he wanted to see the aftermath of that attack, his vision blurred. He found himself in the pagoda world again where Xiaoqian was looking at him with unblinking eyes.

"What bloodline ability have you got? Is it a defensive or attacking type?", Xiaoqian asked. Her beautiful little face was full of curiousity as she looked at Xie Long.

"I am not sure myself. I have only watched the attack in a flash before everything disappear", Xie Long replied. He tried to recall the wondrous attack inside his mind and a name automatically appeared in his mind.

"Imperial wrath:Limitless slaughter", he muttered involuntarily.

"Properly meditate on this ability. Try to recall every details you have seen. Your body seems to automatically absorb energy. So, you need not do anything. Try to recall all the steps and learn the bloodline ability", Xioqian spoke.

Xie Long nodded his head and closed his eyes. He tried to recall the attack and a vivid display of that bloodline attack appeared inside his mind.

He observed the attack with complete concentration. After watching few times, a certain resonance came from his blood. Xie Long was unaware that his speed of absorption of the heaven and earth energy increased after his bloodline resonated with the attack.

He was completely immersed in the study of his bloodline ability when a certain change happened in the surrounding. Instead of pure heaven and earth energy, a certain kind of pitch black energy started to gather around in the surrounding.

"It is dark energy! Just what kind of background Xie Long has?", Xiaoqian muttered to herself. A look of surprise appeared on her face as she looked towards the small whirlpool of energy gathered atop Xie Long's head.
