Chapter 22 - Has He Ever Had Amnesia?
Chapter 22 Has He Ever Had Amnesia?
“He was studying abroad. You don’t know how attentive Master Siqi was in his studies. He has a good memory and can recite books after reading them for several times.”
“He had been studying abroad for ten years?” asks Fu Zhengzheng, being unwilling to give up. “How often did he come back?”
Chen Qiaolan answers smilingly without hesitation, “I remember that he would only come back on vacation. Every time he came back, he asked me to cook his favorite dishes. He said that he could not eat such delicious dishes abroad.”
“Oh.” Fu Zhengzheng stares at Chen Qiaolan for quite a while but doesn’t see anything unusual on her face. Fu Zhengzheng sighs while her eyes are full of disappointment.
Although she has always suspected that Han Siqi is not Nian Xi, she cannot hide the sense of loss when the truth really appears in front of her.
If Han Siqi is not Nian Xi, where is Nian Xi?
Seeing Fu Zhengzheng be unhappy, Chen Qiaolan thinks that she still has a headache. “Miss Fu. If you feel uncomfortable, lie down and sleep for a while. When you fall asleep, you will not be painful.”
Fu Zhengzheng gives a forced smile and thinks of another question. “Aunt Chen, do you know Qiao Keren?”
Chen Qiaolan immediately looks up and thinks for a moment before answering, “Has Master Siqi mentioned her to you?”
Seeing Fu Zhengzheng shaking head, Chen Qiaolan refuses to say anything more. But Fu Zhengzheng thinks she has understood that Qiao Keren is one of Han Siqi’s girlfriends. After all, Han Siqi never refuses any beautiful woman.
Fortunately, he is not Nian Xi. But this idea doesn’t put Fu Zhengzheng at ease. She warns herself again: don’t forget the purpose of coming to B city. But now she has achieved nothing!
After the drip, Fu Zhengzheng feels much better. Seeing Chen Qiaolan go downstairs, she creeps into Han Siqi’s room.
Han Siqi’s room is very large, and the decoration is simple but tasteful. The most striking thing is a well-framed calligraphy work hanging on the wall, which says “When we see a man of virtue and talent, we should think of equalling them; when we see a man of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves—to my beloved son Siqi”. Fu Zheng can’t help smiling lightly. His father is apparently a gentle and elegant person. Han Sixian is somewhat similar to his father, but Han Siqi…
Seeing the huge black-and-white bed in the room, Fu Zhengzheng feels that she has every reason to curl her lips. Look at this bed and you will know how much Han Siqi likes bed and how much he likes sex.
After confirming that there is no camera in the room, she has no time to think about these idle things and begins to look through the drawer. But she doesn’t find what she wants in it. She is a little disappointed and curses Han Siqi for being so stingy—she can’t find even a coin!
She sits in bed with some frustration.
When her eyes fall on the bookcase that is full of books and that occupies a whole wall, she stands up automatically, looking at it in a daze. In Nian Xi’s chamber, there is also a wall made into a bookcase which is also full of books. Is it a coincidence?
It is normal to have similar style of decoration.
But is it really a coincidence?
Fu Zhengzheng touches the book in the bookcase with her hands, and she thinks of the scene that Nian Xi, standing by the bookcase, smiles at her. She tries hard to match the images of Han Siqi and Nian Xi, but fails finally.
“What are you looking for?” Han Siqi’s voice suddenly appears.
Being frightened, Fu Zhengzheng looks at Han Siqi for a long time before she speaks hesitatingly, “I, I am bored after the drip and want to find a book to read.”
“Just to find a book?”
“Yes!” Fu Zhengzheng nods hard, inwardly blaming for her negligence.
Han Siqi gently strokes Fu Zhengzheng’s face and says softly, “I thought you came to my room because you missed me.”
Fu Zhengzheng takes his hand off, knowing that he is going to take advantage of her. Then she randomly takes a book and turns around to leave.
But Han Siqi pulls her hand, making her fall in his arms. He bites her earlobe and continues to tease her, “Sitting in my room, you will soon get better.”
Fu Zhengzheng shakes her head and pushes him away. She stares at him angrily. “Han Siqi, do you so much like to come on to women?”
“It depends on whom!” Han Siqi purposely smacks his lips. “Someone as young as you can better suit my taste.”
“Bah!” Fu Zhengzheng spits at him and asks, “What on earth have you done to Lin Jiao?”
“Well, I just let her disappear in B city.” Han Siqi understates.
“You, did you really kill her?” Fu Zhengzheng is terrified. “You needn’t to go as far as that. Even if she asked someone to set a fire in my house, I and Fu Xing didn’t get hurt, let alone the fire was not set by her. How can you kill people so carelessly? Are you legally illiterate? You’re going to go to jail for doing that!”
“If I go to jail, you deliver meals for me.”
Fu Zhengzheng struggles to stand up and says earnestly, “Han Siqi, you should give yourself up.”
Han Siqi laughs, “Confess your crime, and you will be put behind bars; Plead not guilty, and you will go home for the New Year.”
“You!” Fu Zhengzheng stamps her foot. “How could you do that? You are a murderer now. Did you ever think that your family would worry about you when you committed murder?”
“Will you worry about me?” Han Siqi grasps Fu Zhengzheng’s hand and asks.
“I…” Fu Zhengzheng is ambivalent.
“Will you report me?” Han Siqi asks again.
“I, I…” Fu Zhengzheng bites her teeth and says, “I will!”
“Will you deliver meals for me?”
“Yes!”
Han Siqi pulls her to his arms again. “I prefer to eat your cooking at home.”
“But…”
Han Siqi is happy, and he says in an indifferent way, “They left the B city last night for fearing that what they have done will be revealed.”
They? Fu Zhengzheng suddenly understands that Lin Jiao, Lin Hong and their family have all left B city last night. Otherwise Han Siqi would not send Fu Xing to kindergarten so early this morning.
“Was it really done by Lin Jiao?” Fu Zhengzheng is still a bit unbelievable.
“If it wasn’t her, why would she run away? Are you better?”
“Much better.” Fu Zhengzheng pushes Han Siqi away. “Aren’t you going to the company? Why are you back?”
“I worry about you. It is said that patients are all very dependent on others.”
Having been accustomed to Han Siqi’s flirtatious remarks, Fu Zhengzheng still can’t help being moved. But thinking of what Chen Qiaolan said, she grows gloomy again—he is not Nian Xi.
Han Siqi finds something strange. “Are you still uncomfortable?”
Fu Zhengzheng immediately shakes head and says, “I just recall that I hated to take bitter medicine when I was sick as a child. Every time I took medicine, my mother would always feed me, and my father would wait aside with sugar in his hands. When my mother finished feeding me medicine, my father would feed me sugar. Besides, when I was sick, my parents would not go to work. They would accompany me at home until I got better.”
“As expected, patients are apt to be sentimental. I will also be by your side waiting for you to get better.”
Such warm words have touched Fu Zhengzheng. She remembers the days when her parents regarded her as the apple of their eye. At that time, her parents would try their best to give her whatever she wanted as long as they could. At that time, she felt that she was the happiest girl in the world. She never knew what it was like to be sad until the appearance of Fu Xing, who has changed her fate.
But even if she is displaced, she is willing, because of Nian Xin in her heart.
She tearfully looks at the man in front of her, and then her heart hurts, because he is Han Siqi, not Nian Xi!
“Are you crying? Do you miss your parents? Go to visit them if you miss them!” Han Siqi gently blames her while wiping her tears.
Conscious of her improper behavior, Fu Zhengzheng hurries to wipe her tears with her sleeve, sobbing and explaining, “They, they have passed away.”
Afraid that he will ask other questions, she quickly shifts the topic, “What about you? Tell me about your experience of being sick as a child?”
After that, she confesses to her parents thousands of times in her heart.
“When I was a child…” Han Siqi pauses for a while and says, “When I was a child, I was strong. I never got sick. Unlike you, I was not fragile.”
“Did you never get sick? How come? Are you made of iron?”
“I’m made of steel, Iron Chivalrous, ha-ha.”
“I thought you were going to say you were Monkey King.”
“Monkey King came out of a crack in the stone. I was born by my mother.”
“You might be naughtier than Monkey King when you were a kid. Your mother worried about you very much, didn’t she? Will you tell me something interesting about you and your school?
“I forget everything when I was a child.” Han Siqi stretches out and stands up.
“Forget? How can you forget it? I remember the things even when I was three years old.”
Han Siqi knocks on her head and says, “You just remember lots of things about the past, so there’s no room in your brain for the present things. Okay, since you are fine, I should go to the company. My elder brother is waiting for me to report to him.”
“Fuck! You are cursing me indirectly!”
Han Siqi smiles and leers at her. As he is about to leave, Fu Zhengzheng hurriedly begs to him, “Well, I want to borrow some money from you. I, I want to buy some food for Fu Xing later.”
“I will take him to buy it when I pick him up from school.”
“No! You can’t buy him whatever he wants.” Seeing that Han Siqi doesn’t promise, she pretends to be embarrassed and says, “I, I want to buy something that we women use.”
Now Han Siqi doesn’t insist and he gives her a small amount of money in his wallet. “I seldom bring cash with me. I’ll get some for you later.”
Watching Han Siqi leave, she looks at the money in her hand and then looks at Han Siqi’s room. She sits down, thinking of the dialogue with Han Siqi, and then she jumps up immediately.
He said that he had forgotten everything about his childhood. Has he ever had amnesia?
