Bully Lord

Part-126

Part-126

Suddenly, he felt another cold gaze directed at him. James looked up and saw Mili staring at him, her expression equally frosty.

James muttered under his breath, "Now, what have I done to make her angry? For goodness' sake, why do these women hate me so much, even when I haven’t done anything wrong to them?"

Feeling the weight of their glares, James couldn't help but feel puzzled and frustrated. It seemed no matter what he did, he couldn’t escape their disapproval. Toya’s harsh judgment and Mili’s cold stare made him wonder what he had done to earn such animosity.

James took a deep breath and tried to shake off the uneasy feeling. He couldn’t understand why he was the target of their ire, but he knew he couldn’t let it get to him.

He decided to ignore both of them. After all, he had more important things to worry about, like the online scam investigation. He pulled out his phone and checked the time. It was almost 3 PM, the time he was supposed to meet with the seller. He sent a quick text to Ryan, informing him of the meeting.

As the clock ticked closer to 3 PM, James and Ryan sat in the school cafeteria, a sense of anticipation and unease hanging in the air. Sourov, whom Ryan had filled in on their investigation, joined them, his face a mask of anger.

James asked Sourov, "So, have you heard about our investigation?"

Sourov replied, "Yeah, I have. I just want to catch that scumbag. Once I get my hands on him, I'll crush him without showing any mercy."

James then said, "I thought you didn't like me that much, to the point where you didn’t even want to see me in the Judo club."

Sourov shrugged, "This and that are different matters. The enemy of my enemy is my ally, even if it's temporary. Simple as that."

James smiled, noting Sourov's expression, which resembled an avenger straight out of an anime. He admired the intensity and determination in Sourov's eyes.

James then added, "Ah, but there's a possibility that the scammer won't show up. In fact, Ryan and I have already considered that. We just want to observe his reaction."

Sourov nodded, understanding the strategy. "Makes sense. We need to be prepared for any outcome. Observing his reaction can give us valuable clues."

James felt a renewed sense of camaraderie with Sourov. Despite their differences, they were united by a common goal. The thought of working together, even temporarily, brought a sense of purpose and urgency to the investigation.

"So, what's the plan?" Sourov asked, eager to be involved.

James replied, checking his phone for any missed calls or messages. "I was going to call him now."

As the appointed time approached, James pulled out his phone and dialed the seller's number. The line rang a few times, but there was no answer. He sent a text message, but there was no reply.

Sourov, sensing the tension, stood up abruptly. "I'm sure this is the guy who scammed me," he declared, his voice filled with anger. "I'll teach him a lesson."

James and Ryan exchanged a worried glance.
