Chapter 181 : Awakening
"A... Golden Dragon!" Nixie exclaim with stars in her eyes as she looked at Trinity.
"Impossible aren't dragons especially dragons like the Golden Dragon to be extinct for centuries!".
"What do you mean impossible?! Didn't we encounter that Drake in the dungeon wanting to eat big sis because it said she has dragon blood?" Brixton exclaimed.
"Yeah! But I thought dragons were extinct…" Zephyr rolled his eyes at Brixton's enthusiasm.
Jarvis glanced at them all and said calmly, "Extinct? No. Rare? Absolutely. And Golden Dragons are among the rarest, the pinnacle of draconic nobility."
Trinity clenched her hands tightly in herlap. "But… how? I'm human! My parents were human!"
Felix's gaze flickered thoughtfully as he responded, "Bloodlines can lie dormant for generations. Someone in your ancestry,or maybe one of your parents, must have had dragon blood."
Jarvis nodded sagely. "Precisely! Given this awakening's sheer potency, I'd wager you're a direct descendant."
"That means either her mother or father is a Golden Dragon!"
Gwendolyn exclaimed as she looked at Trinity intently.
Impossible!" Trinity shook her head vehemently.
Nixie leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What does this mean for Trinity? What kind of power are we talking about?"
Jarvis's calm demeanor flickered with a hint of excitement as he replied, "Golden Dragons are the sovereigns of the sky, rulers of flame and light. Their scales can withstand most magic, and their strength is enough to shatter mountains. And their breath..."
Felix chimed in, his voice brimming with enthusiasm, "Can melt armies!"
Trinity shivered at the thought. "That's… terrifying."
"And exhilarating," Zephyr added with a mischievous grin. "Just imagine the look on our enemies' faces when they realize they're up against a dragon!"
Nixie bit her lip in concern. "But what about her eyes? Why can't she see?"
Jarvis sighed softly. "Her body isn't fully adjusted yet. Dragon eyes perceive the world differently, more vividly and intensely. The blindfold is just temporary; in time, she'll learn to control it."
Trinity's voice was barely above a whisper as she asked, "I don't understand. Why me? Why now?"
Felix sat beside her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "The 'why' doesn't matter right now. What truly matters is how you choose to wield this power."
Jarvis crossed his arms thoughtfully. "A more pressing question is: Who else knew about this bloodline? If Trinity's ancestors were dragons, there must be records somewhere."
Gwendolyn's eyes brightened with realization. "The Grand Library of Astheria! They have archives on noble lineages! We might be able to trace her ancestry there!"
"Great idea!" Felix exclaimed. "Zephyr, find us a way into that library!"
Zephyr nodded confidently. "Consider it done!"
Trinity exhaled shakily, uncertainty lacing her words. "So… what now?"
Felix smirked playfully. "Now you learn to harness this incredible power! Jarvis will train you, he knows his stuff!"
Jarvis bowed slightly in acknowledgment. "It would be an honor."
Nixie's pink eyes sparkled with excitement as she teased, "Wow! Big sister has become even more badass than big bro! Can you transform into a dragon and let me ride you?"
"Uhmm... I don't know how to transform yet," Trinity admitted sheepishly.
Jarvis shook his head gently but firmly. "She can't transform right now; her bloodline has only just awakened! She needs to grow stronger first."
A small smile broke through Gwendolyn's usually cold exterior as she said, "Think of it, you're basically a living legend now."
Trinity laughed weakly, her fingers brushing the blindfold."A blind legend, apparently."
Felix and the others chuckled softly when they heard Trinity.
As sunlight streamed through the ruined ceiling, the group fell into lively discussion speculating on Trinity's abilities, debating dragon lore, and planning their next moves.
And though Trinity couldn't see them, she felt their unwavering support.
-----------
The Morningstar Family Estate - Core Area-Training Grounds.
Welcome to the Morningstar training grounds, a sprawling arena of hardened earth fortified with enchanted barriers designed to withstand even the mightiest blows.
Today, however, those barriers are about to face their ultimate test!
At the center of this battleground stood Felix Morningstar, his pristine white overcoat billowing in the breeze, golden embroidery shimmering under the sun.
His golden cane was firmly planted into the ground while his other hand rested confidently on the hilt of a slender, rune-etched sword.
With blue eyes gleaming with anticipation, he was ready for anything.
Across from him stood Trinity, adjusting her white blindfold with determination. Her golden hair sparkled like molten metal in the sunlight.
Although she couldn't see, her other senses had sharpened since her awakening, an invisible pressure radiated from her small frame as the air hummed with the latent power of her draconic bloodline.
Watching intently from the edges of the training ground were Zephyr, Nixie, Gwendolyn, Brixton, and Jarvis.
"This is going to be insane," Zephyr muttered as he crossed his arms.
"I give it five minutes before big bro has to get serious," Gwendolyn mused.
Nixie bit her lip nervously. "Big sister just woke up… Is this really okay?"
Jarvis adjusted his glasses and replied calmly, "Oh, this is more than okay. This is necessary."
Felix raised a hand and declared boldly, "No holding back! Show me what a Golden Dragon can do!"
Trinity grinned mischievously. "Don't regret it, big brother!"
And then....
BOOM!
The ground beneath Trinity shattered as she launched herself forward with impossible speed. In an instant, she was right in front of Felix with her fist wreathed in golden flames!
Felix's blade flashed through the air.
CLANG!
The shockwave from their collision sent cracks spiderwebbing across the training ground; even the air trembled at their might!
Felix's eyes widened slightly as he said simply: "Good."
With a flick of his wrist, Felix ignited his sword in crimson flames and swung it fiercely.
"Inferno Cleave!"
A crescent wave of fire roared toward Trinity!
She crossed her arms just as golden scales flickered across her skin.
BOOM!
The explosion engulfed her entirely. But when the smoke cleared? She stood unharmed and defiant; her blindfold fluttering around her head.
"My turn," she declared confidently.
Taking a deep breath... she exhaled a torrent of golden flames that surged forward like a living beast!
Felix eyes flickered and then he gave a broad grin.
"Instant Transposition."
CRACK! BOOM!
Lightning split through the air as Felix vanished only to reappear behind Trinity in an instant!
His sword came down....
