Chapter 41: Going Against Main Peak Disciple?!
Burning Sun Peak… Inner Court…
In the open courtyard before Jia Kai's stone house, a lone figure stood before the majestic Mountain Eagle. The giant beast gently flapped its wings, sending a small whirlwind across the stone path.
Mo Han, dressed in plain servant robes, casually tore pieces of honey bread and fed it to the creature, ignoring the whispers of disciples who gathered to watch from a distance.
This spectacle was unusual. A servant feeding a Mountain Eagle? That was already a challenge to a weak hearted person.
Suddenly, a sharp clatter of boots came from the entrance. The two servants of Ron Lee finally brought the main peak disciple to confront Mo Han
The disciple of the main peak, Jong came to a stop before Mo Han. His red Daoist robes swayed with the motion, exuding arrogance and status. Behind him stood Servant Chan and Servant Lao, both panting and glaring toward Mo Han.
Before Jong could speak, Servant Chan barked at Mo Han, "You lowly mutt! Don't you know you're supposed to bow when a main peak disciple arrives?!"
Mo Han calmly turned, tossed the last piece of honey bread into the eagle's beak, and slowly raised his gaze. His eyes locked on Jong, scanning him from head to toe with utter disinterest. Then he turned back to the eagle, completely ignoring the arrival.
The crowd gasped.
"You… How dare you?!" Jong's voice boomed like thunder rolling down the mountain slopes. "Do you not see the robes I wear? You dare not bow? Not kneel?!"
Mo Han finally turned. His voice was calm but carried the weight of a boulder, "I am a servant to Disciple Jia Kai. I have no duty to kneel before anyone else. If you've come to speak, then speak. If not… leave me alone, the Mountain Eagle dislikes noise."
Jong was really surprised with the audacity of Mo Han. Usually, the servants even dared to lift their heads in front of a main peak disciple. But Mo Han was not at all afraid to face Jong.
Even the eagle let out a sharp KRAAAK! as if supporting Mo Han's claim.
Jong's face twitched. This servant was fearless. His eyes burned as he took a step forward. "You lowborn dog… I came to punish you. For daring to bring a Mountain Eagle into the inner court. That privilege is reserved for main peak disciples alone!"
"Did I break a rule? Is there any rule that forbids anyone from bringing a mountain Eagle Pet to sect ground? " Mo Han asked, his tone still unbothered.
"It's unwritten sect decorum! It's about respect!"
"Then your decorum is built on ego, not law." Mo Han replied flatly.
Jong's face flushed red. Even some of the watching disciples couldn't hide their smirks.
Jong took a deep breath to steady himself. "Fine. I'll forgive this… mistake… if you tell me what I want to know."
Mo Han raised an eyebrow. "Which is?"
Jong narrowed his eyes. "Where is Ron Lee?"
Mo Han tilted his head as if in deep thought. "Ron Lee? You mean that inner court disciple who barked at me like a wild dog last week? Strange… are you saying he's gone missing?"
Jong didn't answer, but the tension in the air thickened.
"Yes, where is my master?" Servant Chan cried out in anger.
"And here you are… searching for a lost dog in the wrong backyard." Mo Han replied nonchalantly.
Servant Chan erupted. "Don't mock us! You know exactly where Ron Lee is! He followed you when you flew off on the Mountain Eagle—toward the Pink Blossom Tree Sect! You must've done something to him!"
Mo Han's expression turned cold. His pupils darkened like a storm gathering over still waters.
"Did you see? Are you sure that I went to the pink blossom tree sect? Speak the truth, otherwise, I will cut your tongue." Mo Han replied with a serious look.
Servant Chan took a back step in fear and replied in a stuttered tone. "I… I saw you when you're going towards the twin mountains on the mountain eagle. I swear on my life."
Mo Han scoffed. "You saw me go toward the Twin Mountains and assumed I was going to the Pink Blossom Sect? Do you think direction is the same as destination, idiot?"
Servant Chan shrank back. This is a sample from My Virtual Library Empire. Read the rest on M-VLEMPYR.
"Tell the truth, boy. Otherwise, you are going to face the consequences!" Jong warned with a threatening look.
"You want the truth? I will tell you the truth… I went to the twin mountains to gather herbs for my Lady Jia Kai. Do you think I'm going to the pink blossom tree just because I went in the direction of twin mountains? Haa…? Go away before I report you to the elders." Mo Han said with a comic look.
Chan fell to his knees with a terrified yelp. "I-I… I only meant what I saw… I swear!"
At that moment, the stone door behind them opened. Disciple Jia Kai, dressed in moon-white robes with a gentle aura but sharp eyes, stepped out.
"My servant speaks the truth. I sent him to the Twin Mountains to retrieve specific herbs. If anyone still has questions, let's go before the sect elders and settle this."
Jong's jaw clenched. This wasn't how he expected things to go. Not only had Mo Han slipped through logic like water, now he had a witness from the inner court backing him.
Still, he wasn't ready to let this humiliation slide.
"Even if I ignore your crime, I must discipline this dog for disrespect. He should've knelt the moment I arrived. Let me teach him manners!"
Jong raised his hand and muttered, "Jala Marga Vispotana!" (Water Path Blast)
With a roar, a tidal surge of blue Qi shot out from his palm, racing like a crashing river straight toward Mo Han.
But— Mo Han was already prepared with the 3rd form of Sun Piercing sword.
"Agni Gamana Vispotana!" (Moving Fire Blast)
A blazing arc of red flame burst forth from Mo Han's cursed sword as he slashed upward. The two elemental spells clashed midair and exploded in a spiral of steam, fire, and broken wind.
BOOOOM!
Both Jong and Mo Han were blasted backward ten feet.
The courtyard trembled. The watching disciples gasped, unable to believe their eyes.
Jong's palm was burned. His sleeves were half-singed. He looked at Mo Han in utter disbelief.
"You—You used sun piercing sword?! A proper spell technique?!" he shouted.
Mo Han stood up, brushing dust from his robes.
Jong's face turned dark as night.
"You dare injure me?! A main peak disciple?! You filthy mutt—!"
With rage crackling in his Qi, Jong took a deep breath, bit his thumb, and began drawing a spell sigil in the air.
"Ocean Veil Devastation Art…" he chanted under his breath. The sigil pulsed with pale blue light.
The gathered disciples went pale.
"He's using a high-tier main peak spell!"
"That's forbidden for small duels! He'll kill the servant!"
Jia Kai raised her hand, but before she could step in, Mo Han raised his chin and spoke coldly—
"I suggest you stop, Jong. Because if you finish that spell, you won't walk back to the main peak today." Kent raised the sword with murderous intent. He is ready to summon the weapon spirit hiding inside his soul space.
Even the Mountain Eagle spread its wings threateningly, sensing its master's rising anger.
