Broken Soul (DxD)

Chapter 3: 3: Raiser Again

In the morning, waking up, the entire Gremory family went to the Academy. Well, almost all.

Rias wanted to go, but the cold steam on her neck from behind and the tenacious embrace did not allow her.

The girl wanted to get out, but Sirzechs told her to stay because no one knows how Hyoudou will behave if Rias is not there. The girl wanted to object, but a stream of cold air on the back of her head changed her mind.

The scarlet-haired princess of destruction stayed with her cute servant. Scientists spent half a day conducting various studies on Issei. Calculated various data and parameters. Rias left the room once because of some trifle. As soon as the girl left the room, the dragon, who had been quiet and calm all this time, instantly went crazy and began to smash everything around, almost killing the lab assistants along the way.

Rias immediately ran inside and began to calm the raging monster by carefully touching him with her hands. Immediately after the touch, the angry dragon instantly calmed down and began to behave absolutely peacefully.

"Rias-sama, can you explain what is happening to him?"

One of the new scientists, now aware of all the dynamics, asked.

"Forgive my servant. Since he became like this, Issei cannot stand my absence."

The rest of the day passed relatively calmly. Upon arrival at the laboratory, the Gremory peerage found the president reading a book in the company of a dragon. The girl waited for the dragon to finish reading and, receiving an affirmative wave of warm air, turned the page.

The others did not disturb them. In the evening, Sirzechs came to find out if everything was okay. Realizing that everything was fine, Lucifer warned that a guest would arrive tomorrow morning. When asked who exactly the president's brother was talking about, he replied that it was a secret.

Rias pouted, which immediately had an effect on Issei. The dragon got angry and was ready to tear apart the one who offended his master, but Rias calmed him down. Sirzechs said goodbye and left to avoid sin, so as not to anger the dragon even more.

"President, did you manage to find out how to bring Issei-senpai back?"

"Not yet."

"Too bad. Issei-san, when are you going to come back?" the blonde nun looked at the dragon sleeping on the floor.

Akeno came closer and touched her hand to the warm carpace. The dragon twitched quite noticeably, but did not resist. Everything was calm until the evening.

The Gremory family went to bed, but like yesterday, Issei took Rias to his place. After stomping around on the futon, Hyoudou lay down curled up and laid Rias in the center. The girl looked at the dragon's face. Hyoudou concentrated the glow of the emeralds on one point on the precious stone and began to examine Rias's face.

"What a child you are."

Hyoudou opened his mouth and released a wave of cool air into Rias's face to express his disagreement.

"Oh, come on. You know I'm right. How did you become like this Issei….what can we do to get you back?" Hyodo watched Rias being deep in thought and couldn't think of anything better than to lay his head on the girl's lap.

The scarlet-haired princess was surprised, but after a few seconds she smiled and began to stroke the dragon's head.

The dragon let out steam from its nose and the emerald dots in its eyes went out, indicating that the dragon had fallen asleep. Gremory settled down more comfortably, leaning against Hyoudou, and fell asleep herself. In the morning, Rias woke up to the sound of the dragon growling quietly.

Opening her eyes, Rias looked at Issei. The dragon's eyes were glowing, and its mouth with two rows of sharp teeth was bared. The dragon was trembling with rage, and its claws were cutting into the floor.

Issei's entire being was ready to break loose in the direction of the door. A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door and Lady Phoenix entered.

"Hello, Rias Gremory. Hope you are not very busy."

"No, I am not busy. Did you have some business with me?"

"Not really. I brought my son to apologize to you. In particular, to the Welsh Emperor. Riser, come out here."

A blond man with disheveled hair in a burgundy jacket came out from behind Lady Phoenix. "Mom, why the hell did I have to come here?"

"Shut up. It's your fault that all of this happened. So apologize right now." Riser's mother pushed him forward.

Issei almost jumped up in an attempt to bite Riser's head off. The son of the Phoenix family stood there with a stupefied face for a few seconds. "Okay, I'm sorry for what happened. I just wanted you to marry me."

"Until Issei returns to his previous state, I won't forgive you. You can go now."

"What? I'm ranting here and you don't care? Rias, don't forget yourself. Who do you think you are?" Riser took a step towards the girl. The space was filled with concentrated rage, and the dragon with spread wings instantly appeared behind Rias. Its mouth was releasing hot steam, and its eyes were glowing with a bright emerald light. The dragon's roar pierced the heart of those present in the room.

"What the hell? What's wrong with him?"

"And you still don't understand. Issei hates you, and you dared to come near me. Take another step towards me and you'll lose your arm at best and your head at worst."

"What? Who does he think he is? Fucking scaly degenerate." Riser raised his leg to take a step. The dragon disappeared from view and the next second Riser was slammed into the wall with all his might. Issei grabbed the phoenix by the throat and opened his mouth to bite his head off.

"Issei, stop!" The dragon's teeth stopped a few centimeters from the head.

The dragon was shaking with rage and indignation, but he couldn't disobey. Letting go of the blond's neck, the dragon stepped back and stood behind Rias, glaring at Riser.

"Damn it. Fuck you and your crazy family."Phoenix spat and left the room.

"Son, come back. I'm sorry about his behavior, Rias."

"It's okay, auntie. He always has such a bad temper." The Phoenix Lady left after her son. Rias turned to Issei and was slightly taken aback.

The dragon's emerald eyes examined the girl's face from a few centimeters away.

"Issei, what's wrong? Are you jealous or something?" A wave of warm air hit her face.

"Okay then. Don't worry, I will never leave you my dear servant." The rest of the family came to the sounds of the scuffle. Hyodo still did not trust them, although he was more relaxed, believing that everything was fine since Rias believed them.

Until the evening, the Gremory family sat in Issei's room discussing the affairs of the school and the occult club. When it was time to go to bed, Rias did not go to another room, but went straight to bed with Issei. The dragon was pleased with this. Under the measured snoring of the dragon, the girl fell asleep until the morning.
