Bro, I'm not an Undead!

Chapter 1482: The War Body (9)

The great particle of light, somehow with and without mass stood as a shield for Skullius, and all the others aiming for him rushed into it.

When they interacted with the engorged particle, the rest of them were absorbed into it, and it thrummed with even greater power. It shuddered, and Enlightened Ju`wtte continued to throb in and outside it, ensuring that it remained as vast as possible.

As she saw this, Nunax was stumped. She immediately stopped sending more particle projectiles.

Again, her enemy had proven troublesome. He was countering her perfectly. The energy from the particles was no longer returning to her.

The bastard had found another solution other than cutting, piercing and crushing them. Well, he must have known somehow that deflecting them wouldn't work. They would simply turn his way again, attacking from a different angle, which would be bothersome. Or maybe he hadn't known at all!

It was frustrating!

Nunax didn't know anymore. She struggled to understand how he had a solution for every plan of hers.

How had he even managed to change the size of that one particle of hers anyway?

Well, she couldn't have known (in detail) but her enemy had a freakish affinity with both light and darkness, and not even the kind her light-based Natures could produce.

Indeed, Future Skullius had recognised that reaching an S grade affinity with both [Just Light] and [Evil Darkness] wasn't everything. It wasn't the finish line. True enough, both elements would become completely subservient to the user, but without a mind broader than a mortal's, it was impossible to bring out the full potential of the Insurgent Magnus powers.

This was true for many unusual abilities.

Yuyui's eyes were a great example. Each of her eyes had a name and a purpose, but she could define their name and purpose beyond what they were initially capable of.

Her Eye of Moving had only been able to move her and anyone she desired over great distances by her will initially. But later, she found that she could interpret the word move in different, broader ways.

Suddenly, she could transport herself into another person's Reflection of the Soul.

Suddenly, she could use it to remove individual body parts and launch them at her targets.

Heck, Nigerra could use the Eye of Moving to create arrows that judged the direction of kinetic energy in an opponent, paralysing them as she pleased… or worse.

The same was true for [Evil Darkness] and [Just Light].

Back when he was weaker, Skullius had learned to use [Evil Darkness] to suppress the powers of weaker opponents, and [Just Light] to take control over objects through the Preeminent Attegoth.

But now, he could use it for so much more. And not only that, his light and darkness were so much. In the War Body, they were seamlessly combined with Ju`wtte, creating treachery in physical form.

The Sovereign of Anarchy didn't keep the engorged particle as a mere shield for long.

"The darkness binds," he said, and darkness coated the particle, trapping it and its powers.

But he wouldn't put that power to waste.

Enlightened Ju`wtte once again traced out of one of his Ju`wtta and streamed into the darkened particle.

The Sovereign of Refined Anarchy had the powers of the Insurgent Magnus and the Nullmancer. The latter was a Class designed for quickly adopting new abilities while collecting ten powerful allies. When combined with the powers of the Immoral, and Ju`wtte, which could imbue and change concepts…

"The light is malleable. It creates a form," he said, and the darkness-covered particle shuddered and contorted.

The great thing was then transformed into a humanoid being, thrumming with the energy of light Nunax had so 'willingly' given away.

It was a temporary Insurgent Apostle!

Creating minions – stronger sentries – was one of the many things Skullius could do with Enlightened Ju`wtte, indeed!

The Insurgent Apostle was decked in a Corinthian armour of darkness. The throbbing energy gathered from the light particles was safely stored within it, ready to be exercised. However…

"The light expands all."

Enlightened Ju`wtte traced the Apostle and it grew to the same size as Nunax.

But that wasn't all either…

"For three minutes and eleven seconds, you will entertain Nunax as a worthy opponent," Skullius commanded. It was a Fundamental Barter.

The Apostle streaked towards Nunax who gnashed her teeth and immediately prepared to embroil herself in battle with the Apostle. She screeched and a fierce lavender-gold light rushed into her hand, forming a long spear. She immediately swung it at the Apostle violently, while the Apostle brandished its fists.

Skullius was watching closely, transmitting his will to the Retainer above.

Nunax stabbed a little more than a thousand times at the Apostle and it dodged most of the attacks, before landing a straight punch onto her barrier of light.

The thing was strong. The Apostle's punch did nothing – as it wasn't nearly powerful enough to hurt Nunax herself in this state, even with the Fundamental Barter– but that didn't stop it from repeatedly throwing another series of jabs everywhere it could before Nunax's swept her spear around and once again attempted to bore holes into it.

All of this happened in another designation of time unheard of by most Divines. The two were whipping about so quickly that they didn't seem to belong in this plane.

When again the Apostle found an opening and flung several dozen jabs at Nunax… Skullius applied Limited Paradox.

The weight of unlimited strikes overwhelmed the light shield around the Corrupted Deity immediately, and it exploded into shards that flew off.

But the attacks didn't stop there.

The Insurgent Apostle had access to Skullius' powers. Each one of its blows possessed his soul-manipulating abilities. That was to say, each attack hurt Nunax's soul body.

…And they came in an unlimited quantity within a second!

The Deity shrieked. She managed to warp away before the Apostle could continue bombarding her with the oblivion livid in its fists.

But the Apostle was on her case again.

Merigold Ju`wtte coursed through it… and it was within a meter of Nunax in the next instance, the handiwork of the Aggregate Inclination Retainer!

Another unlimited series of blows caught her. She screeched and flung her spear, but failed to catch the Apostle. It might not have been a worthy opponent on its own in terms of strength, but it was in speed.

The process repeated again and then again.

Skullius watched silently, activating Limitless Paradox where needed.

His Amras was bottoming out though. It was a shame, but this was his safest bet.

'I should be able to idle until those minutes pass by with this,' he thought and relaxed on the ground.

He was right.

The five long minutes soon came to and end, and the Second Phase of the War Body was finally his to access.
