Chapter 9: Chapter 9 : Latent Power
Roy stood in the middle of the training ground, sweat dripping from his forehead, but he didn't feel as tired as he expected. His body was pulsing with a strange energy, as if his strength was increasing with every movement. He grabbed the wooden sword his mother had given him, and when he swung it forcefully, a sharp sound emanated from the air, as if it was tearing apart the void itself.
He looked at his hands, this wasn't normal. His body, despite his young age, had become stronger than expected. He could feel the pulses of strength reverberating through his veins, and every part of him was moving in perfect harmony as if he was made for fighting.
"This isn't normal…" he muttered to himself as he tightened his grip on the sword.
Sakura watched him from afar, her features neutral, but she knew very well that what was happening to Roy wasn't just a natural physical development. This was expected, but she hadn't expected it to happen so quickly. She knew that one day Roy would discover that his blood wasn't like that of ordinary humans, and that the strength growing within him wasn't just the result of training, but something much deeper than that.
"It seems like you're starting to understand." Sakura said in a calm voice as she walked towards him.
Roy stopped training and turned to her, still in shock at what he was feeling. "Mom… What's happening to me? Why do I feel like I'm… stronger than ever?"
She didn't answer him immediately, but looked at him with eyes that held many secrets. "You're Jun and Sakura's son, it's natural that you're not ordinary."
Roy swallowed his saliva. He knew that his parents weren't ordinary people, but he never thought that he would be different too.
Unexpected Incident
At an unexpected moment, while Roy was trying to control his strength, he swung the wooden sword again, but this time, the sword flew out of his hand at an incredible speed and hit a tree trunk, splitting it in half as if it were made of paper.
Roy's eyes widened in astonishment, while Sakura watched silently. This wasn't just physical strength, but something more.
"What was that?!" He said in a trembling voice.
Sakura closed her eyes for a moment before sighing. "That means you're starting to wake up, Roy. It's only a matter of time before you fully discover your true self."
Roy didn't understand what she meant, but he felt that it was much deeper than he had imagined.
The Spy's Return to the Commander
Far from the training ground, a man covered in a black cloak ran through the trees with quick steps, until he reached a dark camp located in the middle of the forest.
Inside a large tent, a man with a deep scar across his face sat, staring at the blazing fire in front of him. He raised his eyes when the spy entered, who quickly bowed and said:
"Sir, I saw him..."
The scarred commander looked at him coldly, then said in a rough voice: "What did you see?"
The spy hesitated for a moment before swallowing his saliva and saying: "The boy... Roy... He's not normal. His powers are starting to show. He's... He's not just an ordinary child."
The commander's eyebrows rose slightly, then he let out a low laugh, as if it hadn't come as a surprise to him. "As I expected... blood never lies."
He looked at the spy and said in a calm but threatening tone, "Watch them carefully. We won't move now, but the time will come soon. And then... there will be no escape."
The spy bowed again, before disappearing into the darkness, while the commander remained staring into the fire, a wicked smile on his face.
