Chapter 8: Chapter 8: The Whisper of Shadows
After days of the violent confrontation he had been through, Roy began to feel a change inside him. It wasn't just fear or anxiety, but a new feeling taking over him. He knew he was weak, and that if the attack happened again, he might not survive this time. So, he decided not to be a burden anymore.
Early in the morning, Roy stood outside the house, hitting a tree trunk with a wooden stick in an attempt to train himself. His hands were shaking with pain, but he didn't stop. His gaze was filled with determination.
"Strength isn't something you're born with, it's made," he muttered to himself as he continued his strikes.
From afar, Sakura watched him silently. She didn't interfere, but she realized that her son was starting to walk a different path. He wasn't the little boy who hid behind his parents anymore.
Gathering of Shadows
Far away from the village, in a dimly lit room, several men in black robes gathered around an old wooden table. In the middle sat a man with a deep scar on his face, his harsh features reflecting anger.
"Taro failed." He said in a calm but menacing voice.
"This is unexpected. He was one of our best men." Another man said, his voice filled with worry.
"Sakura... She's more dangerous than we thought." The scarred man said, then added, "But this is not the end. It's time to send someone stronger."
Sakura's Movements in the Darkness
That night, Sakura quietly crept out of the house, heading towards the outskirts of the village. She knew the enemies wouldn't stop, and she had to find out who was behind all this.
Arriving at an old, abandoned hut, she knocked on the door three times in a certain rhythm, and moments later, an old man with one eye opened the door.
"I haven't seen you in years, Sakura... Are you looking for answers?" The man said in a mysterious tone.
"Tell me everything you know, Ryuji." She replied with a sharp look.
An Unexpected Encounter
The next morning, Rui decided to go to the market to get some supplies. As he walked through the stalls, he felt strange looks directed at him. When he turned around, he saw a young man in a gray robe, smiling at him as if he knew him.
"You're John's son, right?" the young man said in a calm voice.
Roy froze. "Who are you? And how do you know my father?"
The stranger smiled and said, "I have some information that might interest you… but not here."
The Real Test
That night, while Roy was reviewing what had happened in the market, he felt a strange presence near the house. When he went out to investigate, he saw a shadow moving quickly in the darkness.
Suddenly, a masked figure jumped out from between the trees, attacking Roy without warning! Roy barely managed to dodge the blow, but he knew that this wasn't just an attempt to intimidate him. This person had come to kill him.
Roy grabbed the stick he had been training with that morning, but his opponent was faster and stronger. Roy was thrown to the ground, feeling intense pain in his body. When he raised his head, he saw the assassin raise his dagger, ready to deliver the final blow.
But before the blow could land, an arrow pierced the air, hitting the assassin in the shoulder! Rui quickly turned, only to find Sakura standing in the darkness, her bow drawn, her eyes blazing with anger.
"I told you before… don't mess with my family." She said in a cold voice.
Rui smiled despite the pain. He wasn't alone after all.
See you next time
With the threats growing, and knowing that the enemies wouldn't stop, Sakura knew it was time to take a bigger step. As for Rui, he realized something else…
If he wanted to survive, he would have to get stronger. Soon, he would begin his own journey.
But the question was… would he be ready for what was coming?
