Blood Nemesis

Chapter 205: Pill

The short film was made as an advertisement for the Guardian Guild, one of the S-ranked guilds of the Federation.

Oliver cringed as he watched the man stroll off the screen.

"What the fuck do they intend to show with the ad? Was the baby calf a symbol of the powerless people or something? Was the Guardian the saviour?"

Guilds have a hero division and a hunter division. Both work in tandem and share their manpower. Through their work, they would build a good image, which would help them recruit even more talented people.

"...but is that even trying to be good?"

*SMACK*

Oliver was crashing out when he felt a fist slam on his head.

Turning around, he saw his mother standing nearby.

"Eh! Mom!"

"Who are you cursing at in the middle of the night?"

"Ooops!!!" Oliver immediately covered his mouth.

He temporarily forgot that he was in his house and had cursed.

"Curse! You might have misheard it." He said and avoided her gaze.

"I wish I had."

Oliver's mother said and walked away, leaving him sitting there in confusion.

He expected more punches to come his way. But the Arin situation had drained her. She was not interested in disciplining her unruly son.

"Anyways…" Oliver turned to look back at the TV screen.

A new film was playing. It was a documentary about the Five Forbidden areas of Second Earth.

Oliver glanced over the visuals and wondered what impact it would cause once the WorldNet livestream technology was incorporated.

It could certainly save many lives.

At the same time, it would also become one of the most-watched entertainment platforms.

The thought of exploring the second Earth and livestreaming it to the audience would make any entertainer jump in joy. Their enthusiasm would rejuvenate the fire within the new generation, enabling them to grow stronger.

A future like that was worth living for.

Oliver was sure that he alone would not be enough to save the world. The only bet he could take was to use his future knowledge and strength to invigorate the new generation.

That way, he and his parents could be safe.

'Technically, hero work is a social contract. The thing being exchanged between those who signed the contract is their willingness to protect the planet with their very own life.'

'If you protect me and my family, I will do my best to protect you and your family. That is the foundation on which the hero's work is built.'

'Some might break the contract because there was no one enforcing it. And yet, it is crucial because there were plenty of people willing to follow through with it.'

"AH!!! I hate to admit it, but there are real heroes in this friggin godfors…" Oliver was about to curse, but quickly stopped himself and said with a stifled voice, "...planet."

"WorldNet should become the hope. Sell it to companies and large organisations for a high price while letting individuals use it for free within limits." Oliver decided.

It was not a difficult decision to make.

Although he was crazy about money, he was not someone who would exploit the weak.

If he were going to exploit someone, it would be the rich who were exploiting others. After all, they were wealthier than the weak people.

"I should make a good plan for the private beta of the WorldNet."

After muttering that while being immersed in thought, he went to sleep.

The next morning, Oliver woke up on the sofa.

As usual, his head was almost touching the ground while his ass was propped up in the air. His sleeping posture was not what you call optimal.

Still, because of being a superhuman, it didn't affect him negatively.

Oliver lifted his body back onto the sofa and rubbed his eyes.

After all the thinking yesterday, he had fallen asleep on the sofa.

It was time to get and go back to his room.

As Oliver thought of standing up, he noticed someone looking at him.

"Hello, good morning."

He greeted the person with a smile.

"Hello," Jiah replied.

She had just come out of her room. She was standing next to the stairs to the second floor.

"Second floor!!! Are you sleeping with Arin?" Oliver asked absentmindedly.

He had no filter and spoke exactly what he thought.

This made Jiah blush and reply.

"No, Arin is over there." She pointed to the living room and quickly disappeared up the stairs.

Oliver turned to look to the side and saw Arin sleeping on the floor, behind the sofa.

"PFFTT!" Oliver laughed and got up.

Arin was sleeping on a futon nearby. Their voice seemed to have awakened him as he slowly opened his eyes.

"Brother?" He scrunched his eyebrow and asked.

"No, I am god and saviour of this world," Oliver replied.

Arin blinked twice and went back to sleep.

Instead of going back up, Oliver switched on the TV to annoy his sleeping brother.

Then he continued to watch it like the lazy person he was.

Two days passed like that…

Other than for occasionally going to the bathroom and eating food, Oliver didn't lift his ass at all.

He watched TV and enjoyed his free time. In a few days, the entrance exam for the first-level hero academy will be conducted.

Soon after, the second level would also be conducted.

He would have to participate in the second level with Root. Therefore, there existed only a few days of free time before he became busy again.

Oliver chose to enjoy the few free days thoroughly.

And his way of enjoying life was being a couch potato.

He watched all the movies he liked and researched how to incorporate entertainment into WorldNet during that time.

Lazy day - 4.

Late at night.

A message came to Oliver's phone.

Oliver read it and lifted his ass off the sofa.

'It's time.'

He muttered and stealthily exited his house.

Everyone was sleeping, and it was time to leave. The person was waiting outside his house.
