Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel

Chapter 635: -92- Are you the "Savior"? !_2

Even in the era Charlotte lived, Elven civilization was still synonymous with advancement and elegance. Most high-end alchemical products and magical artifacts on the continent were produced by Elves.

Otherwise, many ancient human noble families would not have been proud to possess Elven bloodlines.

The legion moved forward in an imposing manner.

As they approached the City of Dawn, Charlotte saw that many people had already gathered at the wooden gates.

Seeing the gathering crowd, Badak paused:

"How come so many people are gathered?"

After speaking, he hesitated for a moment and then said to Charlotte,

"Lord Charlotte, please wait here for a moment, I will send someone to check what is going on."

Charlotte nodded her head, indicating that she understood.

Legion Commander Badak whispered to a warrior nearby, and the warrior quickly ran ahead toward the city gate.

Soon, he returned:

"Commander, it seems to be Lilith and Lord Haral leading the elders of various tribes, waiting at the city gate for Lord Cain's arrival."

"Lilith and Lord Haral?"

A spark lit in Badak's eyes.

As he spoke, he looked at Charlotte and laughed:

"Lord Cain, it seems that Lady Lilith and Lord Haral place great importance on your visit, even bringing the high-ranking officials to welcome you!"

"You may not know this, but both Lady Lilith and Lord Haral quite despise the gods. They have never allowed other gods or their Divine Favored to enter the City of Dawn before. You are the first."

Badak's voice was hearty, lacking the tremulous reverence that mortals of later ages held towards gods.

Charlotte noticed this as well.

It wasn't just Badak; all the warriors in the legion were the same. Aside from the initial awe they showed towards the display of Charlotte's power, once they became familiar with her, their attitudes were no longer constrained.

Charlotte speculated about this…

In the Mythological Era, gods walked the earth, and never before had gods and mortals been so close.

Tales of mortals becoming gods were commonplace, even happening amongst those nearby, and legends of gods being slain by mortals, though rare, were not just myths.

Although these were still low probability events, compared to the enormous disparity between the divine and mortal in later ages, the frequency was significantly higher. With gods and mortals in such close proximity, the natural reverence mortals held for gods diminished.

However, Charlotte wasn't particularly concerned about this.

Knowing that the city-state leadership was waiting ahead, the legion continued on.

Finally, they were home. The warriors were quite excited; even the formation of the legion became disordered, many even running ahead of Badak and Charlotte.

Clearly, this was a military force of a wild era, with little to speak of in terms of discipline, and Badak was very lenient with his troops.

Charlotte also dismounted from her carriage.

Looking through gaps in the crowd, she spotted a young man and woman being surrounded by people.

Although their appearances had changed somewhat from her memory, their similar hair color, the familiar features on their faces, albeit different, and the identical magical aura she recalled, allowed Charlotte to easily recognize them as Lilith and Haral.

At that moment, both Lilith and Haral were scanning the legion, seemingly searching for something.

Their expressions showed anticipation and also nervousness.

"Lady Lilith! Lord Haral! I have returned with the legion!"

Seeing the two city-state leaders who had come to meet them personally, the brawny and robust Legion Commander Badak stepped forward and laughed heartily while saluting them.

Lilith quickly helped Badak up:

"Yes, it's good that you've returned, Commander Badak. You must have had a strenuous journey."

"Hehe, not at all strenuous, Lady Lilith! Not at all!"

Badak continued chuckling.

Then, he noticed that Lilith stopped speaking and continued scanning the legion.

Haral did likewise.

His eyes searched back and forth, his tone somewhat urgent:

"Where is Lord Cain?"

Seeing his urgent demeanor, Badak was taken aback. To support our work, please read on M|V|LE_MPYR.

In the Free City State, Lord Haral was known for his calm and restrained demeanor, being a man of few words, but now…

Why such excitement?

Wasn't he, along with Lady Lilith, generally disinterested in other gods?

Badak was perplexed.

"He is here; Lord Cain is in the back."

Suppressing his curiosity, he smiled and stepped aside.

Then, Lilith and Haral finally caught sight of a certain blond dwarf who had been blocked by a group of tall, burly warriors...

Their eyes met Charlotte's at once.

Almost instantly, Lilith and Haral froze.

Seeing their suddenly rigid gazes, Badak's heart skipped.

Hmm?

Could it be that Lady Lilith and Lord Haral do not welcome Lord Cain?

Remembering the two lords' past attitudes towards the gods, Badak, whose mind was not very capacious, became uncertain.

He looked at Lilith and Haral, then at Charlotte, and coughed lightly, bracing himself as he spoke in a low voice:

"Ahem, Lady Lilith, Lord Haral, although Lord Cain is also a god, he is different from those malevolent gods."

"He saved us and did not come for faith. I believe He can become a friend of our Free City State..."
