Blood Demon's Awakening

Chapter 35: The Blood Lightning Awakening

The Birth of Blood Lightning

The transformation that overcame Jin-ho was unlike anything witnessed in the martial world for millennia. As the crimson lightning erupted from his body, the very air around him seemed to bend and distort, reality itself struggling to contain this new form of power.

The lightning prison that had trapped him shattered like glass, each fragment dissolving into motes of blue and red energy that swirled around Jin-ho's form. His black hair now had streaks of deep crimson running through it, and his eyes blazed with an inner fire that seemed to contain both the fury of blood and the devastating power of thunder.

"Impossible..." Jin Neung-mu staggered backward, his Thunder God Descent technique faltering as he witnessed this unprecedented phenomenon. "What kind of power is this?"

Inside Jin-ho's consciousness, the two demon spirits had achieved something that defied the natural order - perfect synchronization.

『This is it,』 the Blood Heaven Emperor's voice rang with exhilaration. 『True fusion of our essences!』

『Blood Lightning - a power that shouldn't exist,』 the Thunder Demon King added with equal excitement. 『The combination of destruction and life force, chaos and order!』

The New Techniques Unleashed

Jin-ho raised his hand, and crimson lightning danced between his fingers like living serpents. The energy felt different from anything he had experienced before - more alive, more responsive, as if it possessed its own intelligence.

"Blood Lightning Flash!" he called out, his voice carrying the harmonized tones of both demon spirits.

The technique that erupted from his sword was breathtaking in its beauty and terrifying in its power. Unlike the pure blue lightning of traditional thunder techniques or the deep red energy of blood arts, this attack carried streaks of both colors, weaving together in an intricate pattern that seemed to slice through the very fabric of space.

Jin Neung-mu barely managed to dodge, his enhanced form moving with desperate speed. The Blood Lightning Flash passed within inches of his body, and where it touched the ground behind him, the stone courtyard didn't just crack - it was transformed, taking on a crystalline structure that pulsed with residual energy.

"How can you wield such power?" Jin Neung-mu demanded, his voice tinged with panic. "You're just a child! I've trained for sixty years!"

"Training?" Jin-ho's expression was cold with righteous fury. "You call murdering your own disciples training?"

The Overwhelming Pressure

As Jin-ho advanced, each step he took left small craters in the stone, filled with swirling red lightning that continued to pulse long after he had passed. The very air around him crackled with energy, and the Thunder Palace disciples watching from the sidelines found themselves backing away instinctively.

"Blood Lightning Explosion!" Jin-ho thrust his palm forward, and a sphere of concentrated crimson energy shot toward Jin Neung-mu.

This time, the elder couldn't dodge completely. The sphere clipped his left shoulder, and the impact sent him spinning through the air. Where the Blood Lightning touched him, his robes were instantly incinerated, and his skin bore a burn mark that seemed to pulse with its own inner light.

"Impossible!" Jin Neung-mu snarled, clutching his injured shoulder. "I am channeling the power of heaven itself!"

"Heaven's power?" Jin-ho's laugh carried no humor. "You're just a pathetic old man who sacrificed everything - including his own humanity - for the sake of power."

The truth of those words seemed to strike Jin Neung-mu harder than any physical blow. His Thunder God Descent technique flickered, the borrowed divine power wavering as his emotional state destabilized.

The Perfect Fusion Technique

Sensing his opponent's weakness, Jin-ho decided to demonstrate the true potential of his newfound abilities.

"Blood Lightning Domain!" he declared, raising both hands toward the sky.

The effect was immediate and awe-inspiring. Crimson lightning began to fall from the storm clouds above, but unlike Jin Neung-mu's borrowed power, this energy seemed to respond to Jin-ho's will as naturally as breathing. The entire courtyard became bathed in red light as dozens of lightning bolts created a network of energy that encompassed the entire area.

Within this domain, Jin-ho was no longer just a martial artist - he was a force of nature itself.

Jin Neung-mu, still maintaining his Thunder God Descent, tried to counter with his own lightning techniques, but the results were shocking. His blue lightning, no matter how powerful, seemed to be absorbed and transformed by Jin-ho's Blood Lightning Domain, adding to its strength rather than opposing it.

"This can't be happening," Jin Neung-mu whispered, his face pale with terror and disbelief.

The True Nature of Power

『Do you see the difference?』 the Blood Heaven Emperor's voice resonated through Jin-ho's consciousness. 『His power is borrowed, forced, unnatural. Ours is a true evolution.』

『The fusion of opposing forces creating something greater than the sum of its parts,』 the Thunder Demon King added. 『This is what the Extreme Great Demon God was trying to achieve with the Four Thoughts Splitting Great Law.』

Jin-ho nodded, understanding flooding through him. "The difference between us," he said to Jin Neung-mu, "isn't just power. It's the source of that power. You steal and borrow and take by force. But true strength comes from harmony, from balance."

As if to demonstrate his point, Jin-ho's Blood Lightning Domain began to pulse in a rhythm that seemed almost musical. The red lightning moved in patterns that were both beautiful and deadly, creating geometric forms in the air that spoke of perfect balance between chaos and order.

"Noe Jin-woon understood that," Jin-ho continued, his voice carrying a note of sadness. "He never tried to force his power or steal from others. That's why the Thunder Demon King's inheritance chose me instead of you."

Jin Neung-mu's Thunder God Descent technique finally collapsed entirely, the borrowed divine power abandoning him as his spiritual foundation crumbled under the weight of Jin-ho's words and overwhelming display of true strength.

"No..." the elder whispered, falling to his knees as his aged body could no longer sustain the backlash from his failed technique. "Sixty years... I planned for sixty years..."

Jin-ho deactivated his Blood Lightning Domain, though wisps of crimson energy continued to dance around his form. As he approached the fallen Jin Neung-mu, his expression was no longer one of rage, but of cold determination.

"It's time for you to answer for what you did to Noe Jin-woon," he said quietly. "And this time, there will be no escape."
