Blessing Of Yuri Goddess

Chapter 15 - Check Dry Meats

After my twin sister's jealous feelings calmed down, I received a warm welcome from Helena and Nimi.

The two of them were currently filling up as staff member at the Adventurer's Guild building, which looked empty after some adventurers had left for safety after finding out that Marquess Rommel was not tied to any of the noble factions in the Royal Capital of Aurora.

I understood that it was a reasonable choice, as in terms of combat power, Marquess Rommel's family seemed to be standing on the brink of an unopposed abyss.

That made me even more eager to enter the forest and form an alliance with the Elves to reverse the strange situation currently occurring in Marquess Rommel's domain.

Pyuurr...

Pyuurr...

With elegant and graceful movements, Helena poured me a cup of tea.

"What an unexpected arrival, Lily-sama."

"Is your arrival became a secret, so that Mio doesn't come with you as a bodyguard on your trip?" Helena asked after placing the hot teapot on the table.

I also enjoyed the aroma of the tea that Helena had made before answering her question.

"Mio… is currently undergoing a punishment from me," I replied as I leaned my back against the back of the chair in the Adventurer's Guild living room.

"Ara~ my daughter must have made a big mistake to receive a punishment that separates her from you for a while."

"Yes, Mio has destroyed the front garden of Marquess Rommel's residence and is currently still repairing it," I replied while waiting for the right time for the hot tea in front of me to turn into warm tea.

"D-Destroying the front garden of Marquess Rommel's residence? Mio dared to commit such an indecent act in Marquess Rommel's residence. What happened at that time, Lily-sama?"

While waiting for the hot tea to cool to a warm temperature, I shared the story of an incident that had occurred in the front garden of Marquess Rommel's residence, which was being used for training butlers and maids in emergencies.

My explanation drew several nearby Adventurers' Guild staff members to listen to what had happened. Alice, Alyssa, and Nimi listened to my explanation like a story, lulling them to sleep due to the sheer amount of detail.

With my rambling recounting of the incident, I seemed like a chatty noblewoman. Before my image of a chatty noblewoman spread, I stopped my rambling mouth and watched Helena's response.

"Ah, it's no wonder you punished Mio. She's too stupid to control herself when it comes to Lily-sama being intimate with another woman, huh," Helena said while stroking her cheek as if she was worried about something.

"Uh-huh?" I didn't know how to reply to words like that.

"I hope Mio becomes more mature in controlling her emotions and jealousy. She is already a mature woman who is ready to get married. I am a little worried about this, but her life path is now far from marriage," Helena continued, saying something I didn't understand.

I glanced at the hot tea, which seemed to have turned into warm tea as the steam above it disappear. I took a cup and took a sip of Helena's tea, which tasted sweet on my tongue.

Slurp...

While enjoying a cup of warm tea and the sweet taste that filled my tongue, I remembered the figure of the high-level adventurer sent by Duchess Kaori.

Ctuukk...

Putting my cup of tea on the table, I started a new conversation about a high-level adventurer.

"Has something happened in this seemingly deserted Adventurer's Guild, Helena?" I asked Helena in a gentle tone as a noble girl.

Hearing my tone turn serious, Helena positioned her sitting posture elegantly and put on a professional face mask.

"If Lily-sama means the decreasing number of quests and the rare appearance of adventurer groups, then I can only answer with worry and fear," Helena replied, positioning herself as an Adventurer's Guild staff member.

The answers I received showed no sign of the high-level adventurers sent by Duchess Kaori.

Does this mean they didn't enter this Adventurer's Guild building?

It seems I've reached a dead end regarding the high-ranking adventurer Duchess Kaori has sent. In that case, it's time to move on to my purpose in this place, which is fulfilling my father's orders.

"If that's the case, is this envelope invitation still available?" I reached into the pocket of the formal attire I was wearing and showed her the envelope invitation my father had given me earlier.

I placed the envelope invitation on the table and gently pushed it toward Helena. She simply smiled upon seeing the envelope invitation to a restaurant affiliated with the Adventurers' Guild.

"This envelope invitation is still valid, Lily-sama," with a smile on her face that looked friendly and professional, Helena immediately stood up and pointed her hand towards one of the rooms that had become a restaurant inside the Adventurer's Guild building.

Even I, who rarely visits the Adventurer's Guild building, can only be amazed by the development they have done by renovating one of the rooms in the Adventurer's Guild building into a restaurant.

Tap...

Tap...

Then, I walked following Helena with my twin sister and Nimi.

"This surprises me, Helena. Whose idea was it for the Adventurer's Guild to build a restaurant like this?" I asked, trying to fill the conversation between our footsteps.

"You didn't notice, Lily-sama?"

"Huh?" I could only wonder at that one answer.

"The idea you mentioned a few years ago inspired the Guild Master to purchase the land surrounding the Adventurer's Guild building and to find a restaurant your family trusted to be a business partner. Has Lily-sama forgotten that important thing?" Helena replied, seemingly disappointed.

"Now that I think about it, wasn't that the story about the Adventurer's Guild providing special lodging for adventurers at a much cheaper price than regular lodging?" I replied, thinking about something that had happened long time ago.

"For that one thing, we've built it inside the main building."

Tap...

Tap...

My footsteps entering a room that had become a restaurant made me feel a little strange in this unfamiliar place.

In the Adventurer's Guild building that had renovate so large like this, I didn't realize that the words I spoke a few years ago would turn this place into something vital for the Adventurer's Guild.

Under the management of the Adventurer's Guild and the protection given to Guild Master who are not bound by nobility, I feel that this Adventurer's Guild has developed much better than in my childhood.

"This is much better than I imagined," I muttered under my breath as I saw the interior of the restaurant that was my destination.

Walking behind Helena, I met a figure who seemed to be responsible for managing this restaurant.

The figure was a woman who had entered her old age with wrinkles on her face; beside her was a young man wearing formal clothes like Chef.

"Oh, my, it's unusual for you to come at this time of day, Helena. Are you bored and want a second breakfast?" the old woman said with a friendly smile before her eyes fell on me.

Realizing that her gaze was on me, the old woman elbowed the young man standing beside her.

Ckuutt...

Ckuutt...

They both bowed as if paying respect to me.

"Good afternoon, Lily-sama. Are you here to visit our humble restaurant or to pick up a… some troublesome order?" asked the elderly woman, who seemed to understand my purpose for coming to this restaurant.

I do know that the meat prepared by this restaurant tastes good, but this is the first time I have come to a restaurant that directly handles the meat.

While maintaining their seemingly polite and formal demeanor, Helena handed an envelope invitation to the old woman.

"Yes, they came to take the first preparations before the war started," answered Helena, representing me.

The envelope invitation handed over by Helena made the old woman's eyes widen.

"I can't believe that this miserable season of war will come again at my old age, Helena."

"You're still quite young to be a restaurant owner serving customers directly at the cashier like this, Sui."

"H-Hey, I'm getting pretty old, you know! I've even started complaining about my back cramping so easily that I have to stand up to straighten my aching spine!" the old woman grumbled in an excited tone.

The interaction between Helena and this old woman seemed close enough that it made me smile when I saw it.

My twin sister also smiled as this situation, who was quite warm in this, dead town.

Helena immediately gave the invitation envelope, so the old woman had to move towards one of the rooms of her restaurant, "Lily-sama, please forgive me if the drying process of the meat is a little dry than usual."

Tap...

Tap...

I followed the footsteps of the old woman and the young man until I entered one of the rooms containing dried meat that was hanging.

"The drying process on the previous order of meat has been done, but if Marquess Rommel wants to order more dried meat, I can only refuse the order after some of our employees resigned to work in the middle of this noble war season," said the old woman while leading our way to a cold basement filled with frozen dried meat.

For Helena and me, who are used to seeing dried meat hanging, it would be fine, but for Alice and Alyssa, who were seeing dried meat hanging for the first time, they even shrieked a little in fear after seeing several animal heads being dried to be used as seasoning for cooking.

"A-Alyssa... it looks like we've entered a slaughterhouse," Alice grumbled as she held Alyssa's hand.

"Y-Yeah, looks like we've entered a suspicious place," Alyssa grumbled, holding Alice's hand tightly.

I, who saw this, just smiled at my twin sister.

Tap...

Tap...

My footsteps now approached a place containing dried meat packed in a wide sheet of leaves that was tightly attached to the meat.

"Lily-sama, we have arrived at Marquess Rommel's order. Would you like to take it with our baggage cart or Marquess Rommel's?" the old woman asked me with a gentle smile.

In a dim and poorly lit room like this, I cast the Light Ball magic spell to see my surroundings.

Various kinds of dried meat stored in the cold basement were visible in front of me.

That made me immediately glance at Alice and Alyssa, who were already ready with their magic staffs in their hands.

"Alice..."

"Alyssa..."

Without wasting any more time and waiting for my further orders, Alice and Alyssa took the initiative to put the dried meat ordered by Marquess Rommel into their spacious magic storage box.
