Being A Law God In Marvel!

Chapter 47: Drumstick

At the same moment that Ryuji was growing increasingly frustrated, a flood of magical knowledge overwhelmed his mind.

"Argh—!"

A guttural scream escaped him.

The sensation was indescribable. It felt like an overinflated balloon exploding in an instant, as if his brain were a faucet blasted open, unleashing a torrent of energy.

Unable to bear the strain, Ryuji surrendered to the flow of magic and passed out cold.

You see, Medivh wasn't just a powerful mage—he carried the legacy of his mother, Aegwynn, one of the strongest Guardians in history. Aegwynn had once defeated the demon lord Sargeras himself, and her immense power lived on in Medivh.

Even now, Ryuji wasn't equipped to handle that level of raw magical power.

Medivh, often called the Astral Wanderer, stood leagues above mortal magic-users. As a Guardian, his abilities rivaled even the might of Azeroth's five Dragon Aspects.

Among legendary spellcasters, Medivh was a pinnacle of magical supremacy, a figure who inspired titles like "Demigod Warlock" for Gul'dan, "Legendary Mage" for Khadgar, and "Hero" for Lothar.

For Ryuji, who was barely scraping the level of a heroic-tier mage, bearing the influx of a demigod's knowledge was impossible.

And yet, here it was—an overwhelming cascade of spells and techniques pouring into his mind, leaving him utterly defenseless.

Even Karazhan, Medivh's stronghold, was a treasure trove of arcane texts. The sheer number of magical tomes stored there was beyond comprehension—easily numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

Although many were basic spells with no real combat use, the sheer volume added up. How many spells did Medivh even know?

It was a staggering thought.

As Ryuji lay unconscious, the system diligently continued its function.

[Congratulations, host! You have successfully drawn the legendary artifact: Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.]

Had Ryuji been awake, he would have likely leapt for joy.

The staff was iconic, an artifact of unparalleled power. If it had been listed in the system's store, it would easily cost upwards of 50,000 talent points.

Beside Ryuji's still body, the legendary staff materialized.

The artifact looked humble at first glance—a simple wooden staff crowned with a perched raven.

No, not just any raven. The figure was detailed and imposing, with wings folded tightly. Its talons clutched three glowing blue gemstones, radiating immense magical energy.

Anyone attuned to magic would recognize it instantly—not as ordinary "mana sapphires," but as blue dragon essence, an invaluable magical resource.

Below the raven's perch, the wooden shaft appeared plain, save for subtle engravings: intricate runes etched with precision.

Upon closer inspection, one could see the markings weren't elven, as many human magical artifacts were. Instead, the staff bore Dragon Language at its base and Titanic script along its length.

The system's voice echoed one last time before fading.

[The system will now enter a dormant state. The host may access the store manually but cannot perform additional draws for the time being.]

Although unconscious, these words imprinted themselves onto Ryuji's mind for when he awakened.

Had he been awake, though, he might have screamed: "Curse this system! I owe you over 17,000 talent points, and now I can't even draw cards for years!"

Suddenly, a loud bang startled Diana, who had been standing guard outside the room.

"Ryuji!"

She kicked the door open and rushed inside, finding him collapsed on the bed, unmoving.

"Ryuji, wake up! What's wrong? Don't scare me, Ryuji!"

She shook him frantically, but he remained still.

Moments later, Carlos burst into the room. "What happened?"

"I don't know!" Diana exclaimed. "He said he needed to meditate, told me to leave, and then—" She pointed at Ryuji's body.

Carlos approached cautiously but froze when she spotted words scrawled faintly on the wall:

[I'm fine. Don't worry. I'll wake up in a few days.]

The writing gradually faded, leaving everyone staring in stunned silence.

"Wait, what is this?" Diana turned her attention to the staff now lying beside Ryuji. Its overwhelming presence was impossible to ignore.

"Don't touch it!" Diana warned, but Carlos had already reached for it.

The moment she grasped it, a burst of magic flared violently.

BOOM!

Carlos flew across the room, coughing blood. "What… the hell is this thing…?"

"That's what happens when you're reckless!" Diana snapped, rushing over to administer a healing salve.

She glanced back at the staff, her expression grave. "Whatever this is, it's tied to Ryuji. We need to be careful."
