Chapter 443: Chapter 443: The Unexpected Visitor
"Is someone really still watching me?" William asked. Throughout the day, hundreds of spider robots had been deployed by Sunday around and inside the Arcade Street Mall. Apart from discovering a few local thugs from London who were targeting his mother and him, no other suspicious individuals were found.
But since White Ghost had mentioned it, there was definitely a problem. "What did you find?" William asked.
"There are two groups," White Ghost explained, "one is from the desert region I dealt with last time. The other person comes from Ozunu. Have you heard of Ozunu?" White Ghost sent a photo to William, then quietly took a few more sips of his wine.
He didn't tell William the whole truth. The person from Ozunu wasn't an enemy but rather someone White Ghost wanted to test William's intelligence-gathering abilities with. He thought it would take William a long time to find any information on Ozunu, a group that had never been seen by the public. However, to White Ghost's astonishment, William froze for a second upon seeing the photo, then started cursing.
"Damn it! That bastard has a deep grudge against me and now he's hired an assassin organization that's been around for over a thousand years to kill me?" William stood up, pacing back and forth. He pressed his earpiece and said, "Increase the estate's security level. I want to know if even a bug enters the estate. Tell Antonov and the others to maintain 24-hour..."
He suddenly paused, a realization hitting him. "Wait, this bastard defected from Ozunu, didn't he? Why is he after me?"
"Hmm?" White Ghost was shocked. "You know about that?"
FK. William cursed silently. "Of course I know. That guy is after me for something. I remember that the Black Sand Clan from the Ninth Group, the ones in charge of assassinations within Ozunu, always send a letter with black sand before they kill someone. Since I haven't received such a letter, Ozunu isn't targeting me. So why is this traitor, Raizo, after me? Or... did you lead him to me?"
White Ghost suddenly saw a blur before his eyes, and before he could react, William grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up. "You better have a good explanation, or I'll snap your neck and then go find Ozunu to deal with Raizo. After all, Ozunu only charges 100 pounds of gold to kill someone. I doubt a thousand-year-old assassin organization would break its rules by assassinating its own clients."
"I need Ozunu's secret techniques, Raizo needs protection, and you need skilled fighters," White Ghost said directly, seeing William's cold gaze. He hadn't seen William move when he grabbed him, and that unnerved him. The fact that William only grabbed his collar instead of his neck was a small relief, and he didn't dare waste time, fearing he'd anger William further.
"Are you an idiot? You're provoking Ozunu over a traitorous assassin."
"But Ozunu's healing technique is too important to me."
"Damn the secret techniques." William let go of White Ghost and looked at him disdainfully. "Only Raizo and the leader know those techniques. Are you sure you can learn them? And do you really believe a traitor would hand over his most valuable cards just to find shelter? Are you crazy for trusting such a weak excuse?"
"You don't know until you try," White Ghost said, looking both scared and excited. It was the second time William had subdued him effortlessly, and he couldn't help but wonder how powerful he could become if his physical capabilities matched William's. "Don't you want a technique that can control and heal wounds? The Ninth Group only has the Black Sand Clan left, and their numbers have always been small. Once we find their base, a few missiles will wipe them out."
William scoffed internally. Who needs a third-rate skill like that when I have healing magic that can fix any wound instantly? "Can you even find their base?"
White Ghost smirked. "Raizo knows, doesn't he?"
"No." William thought for a moment and shook his head. "I don't need to launch missiles on someone else's turf just for someone who might not even be loyal to me. That's something only a madman would do."
"Besides, I have no conflict with Ozunu, and they could even become allies," William said with a narrowed gaze. "I have so much money I don't even know how to spend it. If Ozunu is willing, I could even buy them."
"Sure, you could buy them today, but tomorrow, they'll betray you for more money. Money can't buy loyalty. Raizo, on the other hand, is different. He has a basic moral code. At the very least, you wouldn't have to worry about him betraying you for money. Isn't that the quality you value the most?"
"So you're really desperate to get your hands on Raizo's secret techniques," William said with a smile, staring at White Ghost for a moment before laughing. "Alright, bring him in."
Then William picked up his phone and dialed a number for the church in New York. "Good evening, Church. Do you have time for a chat?"
The church grumbled, "No. Damn it, what do you want now? Haven't you caused me enough trouble? I'm currently suspended and stuck at home. I still have to go to the CIA for questioning every now and then, and it's all because I kept secrets for you."
"Well, how about I send you 10 second-generation bulletproof suits, and after you sell them, you can return the principal. Would that help soothe your wounded heart?"
"No. Ten suits isn't enough. I think 20 would be just right to heal my emotional scars."
"Fine. The items will be sent to the Continental Hotel in New York tomorrow," William said, pausing for a moment. "You're still able to go to the Continental, right?"
"No problem. So, what do you want?"
"Help me find someone at the FBI who likes meddling in other people's business. I have some information I'd like to pass on to them," William said, just as a figure wearing a black hooded cloak slowly emerged from the shadows and bowed to him.
William looked at White Ghost and gestured toward Raizo, who walked over and began whispering to Raizo.
"Someone nosy with a sense of justice, huh? Haha, buddy, who are you scheming against this time?" The church's voice on the phone was sarcastic. "Should I be praying for the person you've targeted?"
"If I'm after them, prayers won't help. Better pray they meet Satan sooner. Stop talking nonsense. Give me a name, and then you can go pray for the poor soul you sold out to me."
"Screw you," the church muttered, thinking for a moment before naming someone. "David Maslow. He's the case review officer at the New York FBI. Famous for sticking his nose in everything. If a case has any inconsistencies, he's like a dog with a bone—he won't let go until he's dug deep enough to find the truth."
"Great. Goodbye." William hung up the phone and turned to Raizo, who had just learned of the plan from White Ghost. He asked directly, "Tell me, why are you here?"
"Yes, sir," Raizo nodded. "It was purely by accident that I came here."
