Chapter 97: Chapter 26 The first meeting
" That brat is still hiding here like a rat instead of meeting her father. I shall show her love of my fist."
Duke Grace was a man who adhered to strict principles despite the gender differences. He believed that whether they were men or women, one must uphold their rules and morality. Thus, he was strict when it came to stuff like this.
" Duke, I don't think your father will be pleased about your personal outgoing. Perhaps, we should schedule this for later."
Grace looked at the old butler with disdain, knowing his every servant was chips that his father planted next to him to monitor him and as a knight, he didn't like that.
Despite his status, Grace enjoyed the old principles of the knights and used common practices of new chivalry to promote the culture. While he was an excellent swordsman, he was also headstrong person who could see the works of the politics which his father played with his people.
" You reek of incompetence. If my daughter is here, as a father I should take her back before she wreaks havoc."
His cold narrow eyes excluded bone-chilling pressure on the butler who sweat bullets under his gaze. His legs trembled from the fear of losing his life because the man before him was the leader of Wales where warriors were grown through generations.
His words weighed heavily even before the crown and the old snakes of the court. The cold steel of his sword would behead him in a second if he wasn't tolerating his existence.
"Certainly, my lord. However, how should we explain to the current lord? Visiting without notice is the same as declaring war on them."
Grace just grinned at his dumbfounded face before leaving the carriage. He took off his mantle and threw it to his coach and stood before the guards with a calm face.
" My name is Grace Wales Gwynedd, ruler of the great Wales and prince under the crown. I demand a meeting with your lord, Uther Kent."
The golden emblem fell into the hand of the stunned guard, signaling this wasn't a joke. His hardwired brain somehow managed to work in the right way, running toward the office as the guards made their way to him with urgency.
" So, you are the great Duke of Wales. I heard you fear no man on this land even they are the monarch envoys."
Bo stood before Grace, looking down at him with a calm face. His breath had a hint of wine in it and his cheeks were red from the alcohol.
" What an amusing fellow? Are you from the other side?"
Grace found it amusing due to the size difference between them. Moreover, Bo's huge muscles and wild look made his men shrink with fear.
" Aren't you afraid of me? I could crush you with my axe or just my hands if I want. No one will stop me even if you are a duke."
Grace laughed at his words with a light tone, throwing his sword at his guards. Then he raised his head to match his eyes. The gentle pupils of his eyes were filled with tides of the ocean that couldn't be shaken by the roar of the beast.
" Try me, warrior. I can break one of your limbs before I die."
Bo's mouth curved with interest as he raised his hand to allow his entrance.
" You may meet the lord now. Remember, you aren't in Wales, so don't make trouble for us because your people made enough for a day."
Grace's eyebrows twitched when he heard his sarcasm, knowing whom he was talking about.
" Don't worry, I will explain that to your lord. I am not a crude man."
Bo laughed at his words, not denying what he said because surely he was right.
Meanwhile in the castle.
" Tristan, act like a knight. You are lowering our image."
Gawain rubbed his temple with stress, looking at his friend who was devouring the food like he never eaten before.
Drip*
" Man, this is so delicious. I never had something like this."
The sauce dripped from the corner of his mouth as Tristan devoured the meat without care. He swore he never eaten something like this before, imagining what was the secret.
