Battle Through The Heavens : I Am The Thunder Emperor

Chapter 317: Chapter 317: The Thunder Clan Arrives, Black Devil Army Officer Mang Ting!

Chapter 317: The Thunder Clan Arrives, Black Devil Army Officer Mang Ting!

Seeing the sudden appearance of this mysterious group in the sky, everyone present turned their shocked gazes toward them.

Whether it was Fan Lao, the Eagle Mountain Elder, or Su Mei and Tie Wu, all of them were top-tier experts in the Black-Corner Region. Their mere presence could cause tremors throughout the area. However, when their eyes fell on the powerful group exuding terrifying thunderous energy in the sky, a chill ran down their spines.

These people's auras were terrifying—who exactly were they?

As murmurs spread among the crowd below, Han Feng's expression changed drastically. His eyes filled with astonishment as he looked at the powerful figures standing on the black clouds.

"This aura... they're from Central Plains!"

As the thought crossed his mind, Han Feng's face shifted, and a sense of foreboding arose in his heart. The situation on the battlefield would likely change drastically with the arrival of these mysterious powerhouses.

At that moment, the sky over the Northern Plains grew dark. Thick, heavy clouds rapidly gathered above, and within them, streaks of silver lightning snaked through the clouds like serpents. The terrifying silver lightning bolts that crackled with overwhelming power occasionally struck the mysterious warriors standing on the black clouds. However, to everyone's shock, these lightning bolts—capable of severely injuring even Dou Emperors—were silently absorbed by these warriors as if they were nothing but water in an ocean.

The powerful individuals standing on the black clouds didn't flinch at all, remaining motionless as the lightning struck them.

Seeing this display, Mu Gu Elder's pupils contracted slightly. As a senior of the Soul Hall, he knew some secrets of the continent that ordinary people did not.

In Central Plains, while the most publicly recognized powers were known as One Hall, One Tower, Two Sects, Three Valleys, and Four Pavilions, these were just the visible forces. There were even more secretive sects and ancient clans, much stronger than these public powers.

Among them, the most terrifying were the ancient Eight Great Clans, the most powerful and mysterious forces on the continent.

Mu Gu Elder knew that the Eight Great Clans kept a low profile and that ordinary people rarely encountered them. Furthermore, members of these clans were extremely proud, and for a good reason. The ancestors of the Eight Great Clans had all been Dou Emperors, which not only gave their descendants unparalleled cultivation talent but also allowed them to live in self-contained spaces created by those ancient Dou Emperors. These spaces were where the clans thrived and prospered.

Unless personally invited by the Eight Great Clans, outsiders had no way of knowing where they resided.

Although they kept to themselves, the Eight Great Clans were, without a doubt, the strongest forces on the continent.

Mu Gu Elder also knew that behind the Soul Hall, there was backing from one of these Eight Great Clans. However, seeing the profound mastery over thunder displayed by these mysterious figures in the sky, Mu Gu Elder's expression darkened. He immediately thought of one of the Eight Great Clans that specialized in the power of thunder—The Lei (Thunder) Clan.

If these people were indeed from the Thunder Clan, even the Soul Hall would be powerless against them.

As Mu Gu Elder's thoughts raced, the leader of the mysterious group—a man in silver armor with a physique like a towering iron fortress—slowly stretched his neck. As he moved, an overwhelming wave of thunderous energy poured out from his body, making the entire sky feel as though it were submerged in a sea of lightning.

This intense display of power caused the entire crowd to grow pale. Many quickly activated their Dou Qi to shield themselves from the thunderous energy.

Even Su Qian and the Eagle Mountain Elder couldn't help but retreat a few steps as they felt the terrifying pressure.

After stretching, the armored man finally withdrew his thunderous energy. As the oppressive aura above them dissipated, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

But before they could fully recover, the man's piercing gaze began sweeping over the crowd, his eyes like high-voltage sparks that sent chills down their spines.

His gaze first locked onto Mu Gu Elder. As the strongest person present, Mu Gu Elder, with his Dou Venerate power, naturally caught the armored man's attention. A Dou Venerate in such a remote part of the northwest continent was quite a rare sight.

However, when the man saw the dark fog swirling around Mu Gu Elder and the imprisoned soul in his hand, his thunderous eyes narrowed slightly.

Although the Eight Great Clans kept to themselves, they weren't completely unaware of the power dynamics and factions in Central Plains. From Mu Gu Elder's distinctive appearance and actions, the man quickly deduced his identity. A smirk of disdain appeared on his face before he shifted his gaze, continuing his search for his real target.

Mu Gu Elder, noticing the blatant disregard, was momentarily taken aback. Then, anger surged within him. He, a venerated elder of the Soul Hall, a three-star Dou Venerate and an eighth-tier alchemist, was used to being treated with respect and honor. To be so casually dismissed like a nobody infuriated him.

However, despite his growing rage, the elder's rational side forced him to swallow his anger. The arrogance of these mysterious people only confirmed his suspicion—they were likely from the Thunder Clan. And knowing the terrifying power of that clan, Mu Gu Elder had no choice but to suppress his fury.

The armored man, unfazed by Mu Gu Elder's internal turmoil, continued scanning the crowd. His gaze finally landed on Zi Yan and Zi Huo.

"Hmm, members of the magical beast families from the Beast Region? What are they doing in this remote northwest part of the continent? Those old guys from the Beast Region sure are protective of their kin. Why would they allow them to come here?" The armored man thought, furrowing his brows in surprise.

Zi Yan, from the ancient Void Dragon Clan, and Zi Huo, with his bloodline of the Extinct Lion Clan, were both from families that were once as powerful as the Thunder Clan itself.

The Extinct Lion Clan had declined, but the Void Dragon Clan was still the strongest in the Beast Region, and their power rivaled even that of the Thunder Clan.

While the man was momentarily surprised by their presence, he quickly remembered his primary mission and shifted his focus away from them.

His gaze then fell upon a young man standing near Zi Huo and Zi Yan. The young man was tall, handsome, and had a dignified yet tense expression. His silver eyes gleamed with anger and determination.

The moment the armored man saw this silver-eyed youth, his thunderous eyes narrowed. Just as he was about to speak, something unexpected happened: his usually calm Emperor Bloodline suddenly surged wildly within him, creating a powerful internal disturbance.

As his bloodline fluctuated, the thunderous energy around the armored man became erratic, and bolts of silver lightning shot haphazardly toward the Northern Plains below.

The crowd below, already on edge, was once again forced to defend themselves, while the ten warriors standing behind the armored man exchanged confused glances, unsure of why their leader was suddenly acting so strangely.

The armored man himself was startled by the sudden instability. In all his years, this was the first time he had experienced such a phenomenon. However, just as he prepared to suppress the abnormal reaction, he realized something shocking: his Emperor Bloodline seemed to be reacting in fear, as if it were being drawn toward the silver-eyed youth below.

"I may not be a direct descendant of the clan, but I possess the seventh-tier bloodline. How could my bloodline react this way to him? Could it be...?"

Realizing something, the armored man remembered the warnings given to him by the elders of his clan before his departure. His expression immediately changed, and a look of excitement flashed in his thunderous eyes as he focused intently on Mo Yu.

The armored man's strange behavior caught the attention of everyone present. When they saw his gaze fixed on Mo Yu, many in the crowd became curious.

Su Qian, noticing the similarities between the mysterious group's aura and that of his own dean, also felt a glimmer of hope. If these people were connected to the dean, then perhaps the current crisis could be averted.

"Inferno Corps Officer Mang Ting greets the young lord. May I ask your name?" the armored man called out, his voice booming like thunder as he addressed Mo Yu. Despite his formidable stature, Mang Ting suddenly bent slightly at the waist, offering a respectful bow toward the silver-eyed youth.

Everyone watching was stunned. The leaders of the three major factions exchanged bewildered glances, as if they had just swallowed flies.

"Isn't he from a small family in the Jia Ma Empire? Wasn't his clan's strongest member just a Dou Grandmaster? And wasn't Yuan Manor something he built from scratch?"

"How is it that even Dou Venerates are treating him with such respect? Is he secretly some big shot from an elite force in Central Plains?"

The crowd's minds buzzed with questions as the situation, which had seemed so dire just moments ago, suddenly took a complicated turn.

Even Han Feng, who had been gloating over Mo Yu's impending doom, now wore a dark expression. His earlier bad feeling had been confirmed. The mysterious Dou Venerate's attitude toward Mo Yu was a stark contrast to how Mu Gu Elder treated him. The realization hit Han Feng hard—Mo Yu was leagues ahead of him in status and power.

"Mang Ting?" Mo Yu muttered to himself, his expression surprised. He had never met this man before, and the respectful tone confused him.

While he wasn't very familiar with the Black Devil Corps, the unique aura coming from Mang Ting gave Mo Yu a vague sense of his identity.

"Black Devil Corps... Officer?"

Unlike Mo Yu, who was still piecing things together, Mu Gu Elder's face immediately fell at the mention of the Black Devil Corps. His suspicions were instantly confirmed.

The Black Devil Corps was the personal guard of the Thunder Clan's leader and elder council, composed of the clan's most gifted warriors. Only those who reached the rank of Dou Venerate could serve as officers in this elite force.

"Why has the Thunder Clan sent a squad of their elite Black Devil Corps to the Black-Corner Region? And why are they so interested in that silver-eyed kid? Does he possess something special?" Mu Gu Elder's eyes darted nervously between Mo Yu and Mang Ting, his mind racing.

"My name is Mo Yu," the young man replied. "What brings you here, Officer Mang Ting?"

Hearing Mo Yu's name, Mang Ting's thunderous eyes flashed with recognition. He then bowed once more and said, "Young Master Mo Yu, by order of our clan leader and the Grand Elder, we have come to escort you back to the Thunder Clan!"

"The Thunder Clan?!" Mo Yu's heart skipped a beat, and his silver eyes locked onto the armored officer.

So it was true. These people were from the Thunder Clan. But why would such a powerful ancient clan seek him out now, when he hadn't yet fully developed? Shouldn't they be isolated in their hidden space, away from the world? Could the Thunderous Serpent's aura within him have drawn their attention?

As a myriad of thoughts raced through Mo Yu's mind, his expression shifted. After a deep breath, he addressed Mang Ting.

"Officer Mang Ting, we can discuss going to your clan later. Right now, I have an urgent matter I need help with. Could I trouble you to assist me in rescuing Uncle Snake from Mu Gu Elder?"

Mo Yu pointed to Mu Gu Elder, his silver eyes gleaming with a cold fury.
