The days just seemed to drag on ever since I became the Guild Master. Despite it being such a prestigious position there was a lot of paperwork to be done, and I hated relying on off of Tower Master Callum's random quests to level, according to him the Guild Master should be strong. 

"What's this next one" I said, picking up a paper "Request for the guild to supply health potions to firebenders? Yeah, no" throwing it into a separate pile. 

"Alright how about this one" picking up another paper "Petition to start providing minor health potions to first time climbers" placing the paper into another pile I said "interesting, need to look if it can be done". 

Picking up another paper I read at the top "Census of guild climbers. 1,072 copper, 400 bronze, 213 iron, 53 silver, 5 gold, 0 platinum and mythril" reading further down the paper "Only about half of the copper and bronze are active climbers" 

I read some more papers, some trading requests, others where high profile item requests and others where idiotic requests to supply different nations exclusively. 

"Sir there is a problem downstairs" my assistant blurted slamming the door open. 

Sighing I said "There is always a problem but go ahead" 

"It's the Fire Lord sir" he replied. 

Dropping my head on the desk I lifted it up saying "Of course, he's only been here two days and now there's a problem. What is it" 

"He is asking…" 

"Asking?"

"Demanding that he be allowed to get a higher rank without completing the requirements" 

"I'll take care of it" 

Standing from my desk I made my way down the hall passing Dao Mu and Sarak's office on the way. Stepping down the stairs I turned to find the Fire Lord standing at a desk eyes bearing down on the poor guild employee. As I walked over people made way for me; a perk of the job; when I arrived at the desk I positioned myself to the left of the Fire Lord.

"What's going on here?" I asked. 

Giving me a slight scowl Fire Lord Ozai replied "You're finally here, I am attempting to raise my rank, Bronze is a bit low" 

At this point the guild employee, a slim earth kingdom woman; spoke up "Sir I have told him that he hasn't met the requirements yet"

"Which requirement has he not met?" I questioned. 

This time Ozai answered "I was told I needed to take on one of these lowly requests before being 'allowed' to rank up" 

Covering my eyes with my hand I growed they thought for a second. 

"The guild currently doesn't have anything in place for royalty so for this time only I will allow you to skip this requirement. In the future you will have to take some requests to rank up" 

"I do not see why I have to.." he started. 

Holding my hand up I gave him a hard look locking eyes with him "I will have to insist that you do the requirements are there to ensure that people don't take on requests that will get them killed" 

Seeing his silent rage I turned to the employee "Rank him up, if something like this happens again come and inform me immediately" 

Turning to walk away I was stopped by Ozai asking a question. 

"How do you get in contact with the Tower Master?" 

Turning back I answered truthfully "We don't, he contacts us whenever he wants. Why?" 

"I need to discuss the placement of his gate, currently a spot is being emptied but it needs his approval".

He was lying, it was obvious but I couldn't exactly refute a monarch of a nation. "I will attempt to contact him, when would you like to talk to him?"

"Tomorrow afternoon should do" 

"You do realize that it isn't a guarantee he will be there?" 

Giving me another scowl Ozai turned back to the employee and handed her his guild card. Walking back up the satires I made my way to my office to finish the remaining paperwork. 

POV Zuko

Opening my status I assigned my recently gained points.

"Time to go to the class stone again" I said to myself. Currently I was a bit lost on floor fifteen, opening the black compas I watched as the arrow pointed me out of here, at least that is what I thought until I ran into a few monsters. 

Activating quick step and intense flames I launched myself at them. Swinging one sword vertically and the other horizontally, fire covered most of the cave, burning the giant ants to ashes. Walking past the smoldering corpses of ants I looked at the dead end. 

"I should have brought a map," I said angrily. 

It took a few hours but I finally made it back to the fifth floor, unfortunately I was tired due to all the wrong turns leading me to monster dens. Finally arriving in front of the black class stone I laid my hand on it to choose another ability. I took some time the other day to look through the guild register of abilities and classes, it cost a bit but I did find that my first choice of abilities had some included that only appears at a higher level.

"One ability?" I asked with a bit of heat. 

[getsuga tenshou: Absorbs and condenses fire into a close range strike causing devastating damage.]

[Warning! This attack consumes a large amount of chi and energy] 

"I wanted to get heat resistance," I complained. 

[getsuga tenshou chosen] 

"Hello Zuzu" 

Turning around I saw the last person I wanted to see here, "Azula". 

"Hi Zuzu, enjoying banishment" she said with a smirk. 

"What are you doing here?" I said with venom. 

"I don't know what you're talking about, father was invited here by the Tower Master himself. 

"Father is here" I asked surprised. 

Ignoring my question she asked, "What are you doing here Zuzu?" 

"Getting stronger" 

"Oh! Well good luck with that" she said, approaching the stone. 

I glared as she approached "What are you up to?"

"I don't know why you think I'm up to something"

"You're always up to something" 

"It may surprise you but I am not up to something. Father merely brought me along" 

"Where is" I started but Azula interrupted. 

"I would suggest staying away from us, father gave you that reminder last time imagine what he would do this time" She said pointing at my scar. 

"He wouldn't" 

"Believe what you want," she said, placing her hand on the stone. 

Anger creeping up I quickly made my way down the tower and back towards the small house me and uncle were renting. Arriving I looked at the fire nation style building, it was small with only three rooms in total. Opening the door, I walked in and saw uncle already sitting at the table with tea. 

"Zuko your back, grab a cup and sit down," he said. 

I didn't grab a cup, but I did sit down across from him. Eventually he noticed that something was wrong. 

"What is it Zuko" 

"Azula is here" 

Putting the cup down uncle started saying "That is definitely something to worry" but I interrupted. 

"With father". That uncle completely lost the ability to speak for a moment. 

"It would be best to avoid them for now" 

"But I've gotten stronger! Perhaps father will take me back" 

"My brother is many things, but he is not the forgiving type. I am afraid he wont let take you back till you have found and captured the avatar" 

"I need to go see him" I said standing up but uncle grabbed my arm. 

"That is not a wise Idea, if he is here, he has a plan and interrupting that could make your situation worse" 

Shaking off his grasp I walked back to my room slamming the door behind me. Removing my armor I layed down on the mat with my scar touching the pillow. Soon I fell asleep and dreamed of a time when our family was happy, when my mother was still here.

Author here. I just want to say that the mask and sword skill was completely unintentional. In mythology there are many cursed masks and items, as for the sword skill it was originally going to be fire cutter or something like that. Then I remembered bleach and did some research to find the name and its history. I was surprised to find that the MC of Bleach's father had the same sword skill, and it used fire so I thought it would be a fun easter egg.
