Ascension of the Monster Queen

After a long time of talking and listening without much interruptions, the talk finally came to an end, he had many questions for them but his eyes were fixated on Nessa, who glanced at him with a piercing gaze and he smirked as he stood up and walked towards them and her eyes narrowed as she looked at him, for she still didn't have enough reason to trust him.

The demon stood between her and the demon lord, clearly showing that he could not approach her and the demon lord chuckled and lifted his hand feigning surrender, assuring the demon he won't come anywhere near her.

Nessa looked at him, knowing that he was not only curious but he was also up to something, since she caught a glimpse of mischief in his eyes and a swirl of purple energy behind him, playing around his index finger, which was behind his back.

"What are you up to? Are you that curious about her?" The demon asked with a dangerous glint in his eyes, which did not go unnoticed by Nessa.

She realized that he was getting protective of her, even though he knew she was more than capable of taking care of herself and she couldn't help but smile, finding the situation amusing in a way.

"Yes, unfortunately I am curious about the little girl," He responded and Nessa's brows twitched in irritation at being called a little girl, just because she was younger and she glared at him, to which he chuckled.

The demon lord chuckled, finding the situation amusing as well "You are a feisty one, aren't you? Interesting."

She scoffed and the demon chuckled, seeing her irritated look, knowing the demon lord was starting to get under her skin, with his snarky comments and she was getting more annoyed by the second.

"Alright, alright, I won't tease but I am curious about the situation you guys found yourself in because of the nation you built, how far are you willing to go? If a demon lord or two is involved it makes it all a lot harder than you think, are you willing to go up against them? Do you think you have a chance of winning?

Can you be certain of the path you want to take?" He asked as he looked at both of them and they exchanged glances.

Both of them knew why he was asking such questions, he was testing their resolve, something that he usually tends to do and both of them looked at him, as he sat back down on his throne, his gaze piercing through them as though he was trying to see their souls.

'This guy knows how to get under people's skin, to push them and test their resolves, whether they are only talking and will back out later or whether they will stick by their words, no matter,' Nessa thought as the demon smirked.

"Yes, of course, I know what lies ahead and I am also more than determined to do what I need to in order to get what I want, which is destroying them and create a peaceful life for the nation, something I will not tolerate anyone threatening or pointing their blade at," The demon responded.

Nessa stared at him, for he actually sounded like a true leader, willing to do whatever it takes to protect that which he believed in and to achieve his goals, without letting anyone or thing stand in his way.

She smiled a little as she looked at his unwavering gaze as he looked the demon lord directly in his eyes, without even flinching, their gazes matching an intensity, which made the demon lord smirk.

"Nice, you have got a strong spirit, one filled with hope but, it carries along many other things with it, I can sense that from here, there is more to you than you let on isn't there?" The demon lord asked and the demon's eyes narrowed at his observation, while Nessa looked on from the sidelines, like a spectator paying close attention to an interesting show.

"Maybe you are right, so what? Is there anything to it? Does it bother you? After all, everyone has secrets they are not willing to even let the world peek at, even you," He responded and the demon lord burst out laughing as he looked at them.

"Interesting, you are daring and there is more to both of you than meets the eyes, a secret worth discovering with due time, I like both of you, no one would dare stand in front of me and talj the way you guys are currently doing, muchless barge into my home unannounced and challenging me, demanding.... I have to say this is quite a refreshing situation, one of the best in years," He said.

Nessa stared at him with an unamused look and he left staring at her then chuckled, as his servants nearby froze, wondering what was going on since they all feared him and had never seen him this way before, which was scary to them.

"That look... Why don't you take the mask off sweetheart?" He asked and she glared at him to which the demon chuckled.

"She won't be doing that and please stop messing around and tell us your decision, will you help us with the information we need or not? Was it a waste of time coming here?" The demon asked and the demon lord exhaled deeply then glanced at him.

"Fine, fine, you two are quite an unexpected duo, I like both of you, let's get serious then, the things you mentioned before, I heard about them and this secret organization who has been causing trouble in many places, I won't deny that I have heard of them and I now know they are a threat to the stability we built over the years," He responded.

"Yeah, they won't mind uprooting it all, which is what they are currently doing," Nessa said and he nodded.

"Yes, I am aware of that fact from my sources, who witnessed their mess firsthand, they are a threat one that I want gone, for mutual reasons, I will help, I will provide that which is needed," He said with a smirk and Nessa's eyes narrowed as his servants and men stared at them, bewildered that he actually agreed to their terms.
