Chapter 1025: Array
Lisa listened to Magnus for some time and asked several questions about the Chaos Immortals.
"Be careful…" Magnus finally said as he completed his report.
Thankfully, these Immortals were acting cautiously, giving them time to prepare. They were actually setting up a formation to ensure that they wouldn't be able to escape…
'Well, that wouldn't work…' Lisa thought with a smile.
At first, she was expecting that they would just cause a rampage and kill anyone without care as soon as they arrived. However, it was different.
'I guess they're different from the Demonic Creatures.' Lisa thought.
At this point, she also realized that these intruders planned to live within this realm. Because of that, they'd certainly not want to destroy the continent with their Immortal Spells.
Furthermore, if they were being careful, they must be aware of Vale's power, including the Avatars of the gods and goddesses of this realm.
"Alright… We'll escape if needed." Lisa said, filled with confidence.
After all, he had Time Manipulators by her side. Even if she couldn't win against the Chaos Immortals with her Tower alone, they wouldn't have any skills to stop them from leaving.
Despite their power to create a chaotic field, the power of Time Manipulators had already increased so much that it wouldn't be disrupted even with Chaos Arts as long as they had also prepared beforehand.
Still, Lisa decided to warn the kingdom's royal family about this while keeping it secret from the citizens.
The Immortals wouldn't want to harm ordinary people anyway unless they want to suffer from karma. After all, if they killed enough mortals, they would soon be rejected by the Will of the Realm, and that was not something they wanted to happen.
After informing the relevant personnel about this matter, Lisa decided to continue giving lessons.
She gave some advice to the practitioners who wanted to learn how to properly use two Arcane Arts at the same time...
As she was doing this, a spirit messenger came up to her and gave a letter from the Arcane Bureau.
'Hmm? Is it from the Bureau?'
It was a white fox spirit who just suddenly appeared from the ground…
After handing the letter, it wagged its tail and disappeared like a ghost.
As Lisa opened it, she confirmed that the message had indeed come from Director Virgo himself.
After reading the message, Lisa shook her head.
'I guess this will be canceled…' Lisa muttered as it was another meeting request about increasing protection in nearby villages.
With the arrival of the Chaos Immortals, this meeting would surely be useless.
After all, once the Chaos Immortals surrounded this place, they would no longer control this kingdom.
Just like that, Lisa started contacting her supposed reinforcements for such situations.
Although they wouldn't fight to the death, Lisa wanted to show that they were not easy opponents before retreating to the Shadow Domain.
***
The reinforcements were, of course, some of her familiars and a few notable figures in Shadow Domain.
After sending a signal to them, Orden, one of the two Dragons of the Domain, replied through telepathy.
"Lisa… They've begun setting up an array outside Luminara's borders. Chaos Immortals—more than sixty of them. They're not launching an attack yet… they're cutting off information. Nothing's getting in or out very soon…"
"Yes… Magnus warned us as well. Still, I'm planning to show them something before retreating…" Lisa said with a smile.
She soon returned to the Tower's command room… She sat at her 'throne' and connected to the eyes of various Vampires she had scattered all around the country…
In just a few moments, she obtained a lot of information.
After confirming the presence of the Chaos Immortals who would most likely target the military posts, she swiftly warned the Arcanists in the tower to get into position.
Liora, Cyper, and Elysia, the three Time Manipulators once bound to Shane and now assigned to her, had also appeared within moments. All three were calm as they already had an escape route…
"We received Orden's message too…" Liora said.
"They're sealing the kingdom. We should begin synchronization."
"Agreed," Cyper replied.
"They wouldn't take that long before reaching this place. No mortal Arcanist could ever stop them."
Elysia didn't speak as she was already calculating variables.
They had a lot of Formation Circles with the power of Time.
This Arcane Tower could not be easily breached even with multiple Chaos Immortals working together…
They would have to pay a price before they could do that.
Still, the amount of energy or divinity that they could gather was limited. Because of that, they were still at a disadvantage.
***
After some time, Lisa confirmed that the Royal Family had already evacuated, and she sent a city-wide transmission to warn everyone not to do anything foolish.
"To all stationed Arcanists within Luminara, remain inside your homes. Enemies are approaching, and do not engage unless given orders. This is Lisa… The Evil Chaos Immortals have arrived. This is not an offensive war—we are buying time. Reinforcements are preparing. If it comes to it, the escape tunnels beneath the city will open. For now, stay alert and wait."
She cut the connection and turned to the Time Manipulators. "The Isolation Barrier they're making will be finished soon…"
Liora nodded. "We'll do what we must."
Lisa reached into her spatial ring and pulled out a black badge—the Shadow Immortal's insignia. Vale's personal gift. It didn't glow and didn't release any overwhelming power… but it was something that could protect her if needed.
'I hope you won't be too late, Vale…' Lisa thought to himself as she knew that once the man was back, they would be able to begin their counterattack.
Then, at the boundary of the Luminara Kingdom, a huge amount of Chaos Energy surrounded them.
The Chaos Immortals began to chant, and soon, the small Kingdom with only seven or so cities was isolated from the outside world.
"Activate the Tower's Offensive Array…" Lisa ordered.
