Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

The second Bai Meiyue looked at the woman, and she knew that the woman was trouble. Especially when she saw the scowl on her face. From the looks of it, even in the apocalypse this woman was a big shot and bringing such a big shot into her mansion was bound to bring trouble.

"I won't take her in," Bai Meiyue refused at once. It wasn't that she was afraid of trouble but this woman just looked way too mean and pampered with a rich background; she didn't dare to bring this woman in her mansion lest this woman suddenly start acting up.

Which she was bound to do.

If that happened, then the man behind her would certainly look for trouble. Bai Meiyue was not scared of trouble but she wanted to spend the rest of her pregnancy in peace rather than tussling with someone.

The men behind the woman were all supernatural ability users; even when the woman didn't have an ounce of ability, these men who were second or third ability users were willing to follow her, which showed that the woman was not simple and the man behind her was even more difficult to handle. She might as well not get entangled in this mess.

Whoever was the owner of this monkey should take care of this circus. She was not the one who owned it.

Fox was not surprised when he heard Bai Meiyue's rejection. He knew that she had never been the kind of person who would let trouble rise around her. He sighed and bowed in front of her, "Please just let her stay for a few days. Her husband would soon come and take her away. Till then, just till then, keep her in your mansion. I promise that I will send two hundred crystal nuclei in exchange for her living expenses and one hundred crystal nuclei for the bodyguards next to her."

Even if these people could find their own food, which meant that these people were certainly water and wood-type users, she could see that the woman was way too delicate. When Fox saw that the woman was still not willing, he sighed and said, "How about this? This woman is like my weak spot. The husband of this woman is my good brother; he saved my life countless times and I owe him a lot. Before he left, he handed his wife to me and asked me to promise that I would take care of the child in her belly."

"With the woman in your grasp, you won't have to worry about me betraying you or joining hands with Yu Miaomiao. We are no longer on opposite sides but on the same side; don't you think that it's better this way? It's a good pawn in your hand."

Indeed it was a good pawn but Bai Meiyue didn't want to agree right away. She glanced at the woman and said, "I will agree but let me tell you, if this woman makes a mess in my mansion, you will have to bring compensation for her mess."

It was Fox's turn to be embarrassed now. He never thought that his little schemes would one day come back to bite him in the arse like this.

"...Fine. If you want to do it like this, then I agree," said Fox with a hint of grimace in his tone. Fifty crystal nuclei were fifty nuclei; he was going to pay for them. It was better to hand the nuclei to Bai Meiyue rather than let the ability users think that he bullied and unfairly treated their family members. He couldn't let those ability users follow Bai Feng.

It was bad enough that they had already taken most of the ability users.

On the other side, the young miss was sniffing in disdain. She looked around the rough surroundings and then said to the bodyguard behind her, "What kind of place did Fox bring me to? She then turned on her feet and walked over to Fox. Her bottom ended up getting smashed on the pile of pig waste that was lying in the corner and she shrieked in disgust. "Fox! Fox! What kind of place is this? It's so dirty. I don't want to stay here. Take me away; just take me away. Eww!"
