Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: First Blood

He retired as he was about to be promoted again. He would have become the youngest general this country would ever have. But he refused the promotion and instead applied for discharge.

He said his grandfather was old and had health problems and he wanted to lessen his burden and run the family business. But even after retirement, he still goes on missions when the country's safety is threatened.

You should also have heard of him in the business circle. He is the CEO of Ye Corporation."

"What!! He is the rumored king of hell in the business world? According to the rumors, he took over his grandfather's business and doubled the assets in two years." Chu Hao was shocked.

He had been working with his father, so he knew about Ye Xuan's fame.

"Yes, that's him."

They got to the parking lot and got into their respective cars, then headed out.

Chu Hao was driving while Chu Miao sat in the passenger seat and looked out of the window. The road was mostly deserted with cars abandoned on the roadside and some even blocking the road.

They had to drive around them to pass.

What was puzzling was that the zombies they had seen last night were somehow missing. Even though some zombies could be seen walking on the streets with crooked necks and stiff legs. They were almost dragging their feet and moving very slowly.

Hence, they were not a threat. However, because of the actions of the first people who turned into zombies biting others, many people were fearful and didn't dare to go out even when they noticed their slow movements.

It is said that once someone is bitten by a snake, they will even fear a rope. This was such a case, but Chu Miao felt that it was good for them as they wouldn't have to deal with other people when collecting supplies.

"It looks like the zombies are more active at night. There were thousands of zombies on the streets last night but there are only scattered ones now." Chu Hao had also noticed the peculiarity of the situation.

"Maybe they are like vampires. Afraid of the sun." Chu Miao was just making an off-handed statement but she didn't realize that she was right. The zombies were afraid of the sun and more active at night.

"We should hurry up and collect more supplies before people realize this weakness and come out in full force. Many will come to their senses soon and realize that this is not an ordinary virus and the government can't do anything about it. Then things will go south fast." She added.

Chu Hao stepped on the accelerator and sped up on the empty roads. As they entered the city center, they came across a gas station and Hao drove into it and stopped.

There didn't seem to be anyone in the station but the two didn't lower their guard.

"We should get more gasoline. Even though we bought a lot, it will still not last forever. The more the better."

"Alright, be careful." Chu Miao said as she took out a short sword from her space and got out of the car.

Hao followed suit, taking a military dagger out of his space ring, and got out of the car. They headed towards the door of the service station supermarket while observing their surroundings.

It was eerily quiet as not a single soul could be seen within their line of sight. The door to the supermarket was open. It looked like when the virus spread and people started turning into zombies, the people in charge had fled without bothering to lock the door.

Chu Miao was about to push the door open when Chu Hao stopped her. "Stay behind me." He pushed her behind him and moved forward to push the door.

He had only pushed it a crack when they heard movement inside. They both tensed up as they tightened their grip on the weapons in their hands.

Hao pushed the door and they saw three distorted faces with rotten flesh looking at them. What was creepy was that even though the zombies were looking at them, their eyes were completely white without a pupil.

The mouth was stretched almost to the ears and they were making grunting sounds. As soon as the door opened, the zombies lunged at them.

Miao noticed that these zombies were moving faster than the ones outside. It looked like the sun could inhibit their movement.

"Be careful Bunny," Hao said as he used his short sword to swing at the attacking zombies.

"You too brother."

She had been on the battlefield for so many years. These slow zombies were no match for her. She swung her sword horizontally and the zombie in front lost its head. At the same time, Hao swung his short sword too and sliced off the second zombie's head.

As he turned around to confront the last one, he saw his delicate sister separating its head from the body with a slight swing of her sword. She didn't even exert any strength.

They noticed that the zombies didn't have much resistance or attacking power. As long as they didn't let them get close enough to scratch them, they didn't have to worry.

After taking care of the zombies, they walked towards the place where about a dozen LPGS were placed and took all of them into the space. They also took every container of car oil they could see. They didn't care about the type.

There were also about a dozen gallons of gasoline, which Miao put in her warehouse in the space together with the ones Hao had bought before.

They didn't take anything else in the supermarket. They left them for other survivors who might come later.

After taking the things in the shop, Miao led the way towards the back of the shop and saw a door to the left before they could walk out. She didn't know what was behind the door but she assumed it was a warehouse.

"Let's check out what is behind this door." She suggested.

"Okay, but be careful. You never know what is lurking behind closed doors."

The door was locked, but that didn't mean the space behind was safe, and it sure couldn't stop Chu Miao. She used her spiritual energy to exert some strength and the lock was broken.

Pushing the door open a crack, the duo tensed up as they waited for a minute…
