Chapter 176: Chapter 160: Nagi Plays Z-Man 3
After defeating Radige in Stage 3, Nagi eagerly continued playing. The next level, Stage 4, took place in a Sky Castle, a majestic yet perilous environment. However, it wasn't long before he encountered a new enemy: Grinam Winged, floating Grinam that shot projectiles at him from above.
"Damn! Flying enemies are annoying!" Nagi muttered as he struggled to dodge their attacks. The difficulty spiked as the stage also featured numerous pits that could cause instant death if he wasn't careful. After multiple retries, he finally made it past the airborne menace and reached the mini-boss: Grinam Angel.
Unlike the smaller Grinam Winged, Grinam Angel was a massive, hammer-wielding brute with wings. It hovered menacingly before delivering powerful downward strikes with its colossal weapon. During the fight, two elemental orbs appeared, but Nagi decided to save them for the final boss. Surprisingly, the mini-boss turned out to be easier than the stage itself, and he quickly moved forward.
Then, he reached the boss of Stage 4: a regal woman in an ornate dress, wearing a strange helmet with a shimmering diamond on her forehead.
She spoke in text: "Z-Man, so foolish. You think your little hero act can change the inevitable? Think again! Now, face the wrath of Reverse Dimension Empress Juuza!"
The battle began. Empress Juuza was no ordinary opponent—she possessed an energy shield that had to be destroyed before she could take damage. She wielded devastating attacks:
Flying Slash AttackDiamond Beam from her foreheadSummoning Grinam mobs into the arena
"Damn, this is really hard!" Nagi groaned. He died multiple times, but he kept trying. After repeated attempts, he finally broke through her shield and defeated her human form.
However, as expected, she transformed, growing into a gigantic demonic form with horrifying features.
Nagi grinned.
"Time to Gattai!"
The robot battle against Empress Juuza was extremely difficult. Like Kagami Jigen, she could reflect projectile attacks when her shield was active. On top of that, she unleashed illusion beams that reversed the player's controller inputs, making movement chaotic and unpredictable.
Despite the challenges, Nagi managed to hold his own. After a fierce battle, Guren Tsuyoijin unleashed JIGEN-GIRI, its finishing move—but just as it was about to land, a cutscene triggered.
Empress Juuza caught the attack with her bare hands!
The scene switched to the Z-Man team, all of them shocked.
"NANI!?" appeared in text above them.
Juuza smirked. "Foolish Z-Man!"
Then, in a flash of energy, she teleported Z-Man to the Reverse Dimension! The screen darkened, and a new prompt appeared: Stage 4 Clear.
"Whoa! I didn't actually beat her!?" Nagi gasped.
Stage 5: The Reverse Dimension
This ominous stage was shrouded in darkness, filled with eerie Grinam Reverse, monstrous versions of normal Grinam but with massive clawed hands.
"These things are way more aggressive!" Nagi noted as he struggled against the relentless enemies.
The mini-boss, Grinam Reverse General, was even worse—an enormous version of Grinam Reverse, with massive claws capable of dealing insane damage.
Nagi fought desperately, using up both of his elemental orbs to unleash Rocco no Ryuusei, barely managing to defeat it.
"Oh my god, even the mid-boss was tough. And now my orbs are gone... Damn!" he sighed.
With no time to waste, he pressed on, eventually reaching the final boss—Empress Juuza, now fully adapted to the Reverse Dimension. Her text appeared:
"Foolish Z-Man, you couldn't defeat me in your own world. What makes you think you can win in mine?"
The fight began anew. The mechanics were similar to her previous form, except now:
She teleported frequently
She summoned Reverse Grinam instead of normal Grinam
"Oh my god, it's getting harder!" Nagi groaned. He retried multiple times before finally depleting her base form's health.
A cutscene triggered. The Z-Man team and Guren Tsuyoijin were tattered, barely standing.
Z-Yellow's text appeared: "Red Hawk, what should we do!? We're trapped here, and we can't beat her!"
Z-Green responded: "Don't panic, Rai Ninja! We need to stay calm!"
Z-Red made a bold decision: "There's no other choice. We must use... Z-Gatherer!"
The Z-Man team nodded, placing their hands together. A surge of energy overwhelmed them, and they screamed in pain, but then...
They teleported inside Guren Tsuyoijin. The robot shined with white aura, beginning a miraculous repair sequence.
Exhausted but determined, the Z-Man team regained control of their Enhanced Guren Tsuyoijin! The second phase of the final battle began.
Midway through the fight, Z-Blue's text appeared: "We need to destroy her Core Armor with Z-Kouha, then finish her with Jigen-Giri!"
After depleting her health Nagi unleashed Z-Kouha, obliterating Juuza's Core Armor.
However she didn`t die and entered her second phase, she became even more aggressive, entering a final rage mode. Nagi fought desperately, guarding relentless attacks until he depleted her health bar.
A climactic 8-bit cutscene played:
Z-Red, exhausted, shouted: "Everyone! Put everything into one last Jigen-Giri!"
The Z-Man team glowed with a blinding white aura, pouring their remaining energy into their mecha swords. Guren Tsuyoijin's Jigen-BA charged up, glowing brighter than ever before.
"FINAL JIGEN-GIRI!"
The massive energy blade struck Empress Juuza, cutting through dimensions themselves.
She let out a final scream: "NO! My dimension! My home! It shouldn't be like this! IT SHOULDN'T BE LIKE THIS! CURSE YOU, Z-MAN!!!"
Her form disintegrated, and the Reverse Dimension collapsed into nothingness.
The Z-Man team barely escaped, returning to their world. The screen displayed Stage 5 Cleared!
The Ending
A cutscene played, showing Z-Man enjoying a sunset. The narrator spoke:
"Z-Man has finally defeated the Empress of the Reverse Dimension, restoring peace. But new threats will always emerge... And Z-Man will always be there to protect the Earth! Always shining brightly... Choujin Sentai Z-MAN!"
The credits rolled.
Nagi grinned ear to ear. "That was awesome! Damn, I can't wait to replay it with different characters!"
As he prepared for another run, he noticed five locked character slots.
"Huh? Locked characters? More Sentai?"
One of the locked slots revealed a hint: "Beat the game with all starting Sentai."
The others were marked as "???".
Nagi smirked. "This is gonna be fun."
He selected New Game, this time choosing Z-Blue!
