Nagi Nakata, a first-year middle school student, had been a passionate fan of Super Sentai since he was little. His love for the genre began with Goranger, and he had followed every new season since then. Now, he was watching the latest Super Sentai series, Sun-Vulcan, with a big smile on his face, enjoying every moment of it. But as the season was nearing its end, he was already getting excited about what the next Sentai series would be like.

After the episode ended, he decided to head outside to play. He and his friends had plans to watch an anime that night, so he spent the afternoon having fun while eagerly waiting for the evening to arrive.

That Night

As the sky darkened, Nagi made his way to his best friend Wakana's house. The two of them had been friends since childhood, and they always got together to watch anime or TV specials whenever something exciting was on.

"Wakana! You ready to watch anime, bro? It's on TV Tokyo tonight!" Nagi called out as he knocked on the door.

Wakana grinned as he opened it. "Of course! Come in!"

Neither of them were gamers. They preferred watching things rather than playing them, but tonight, something was about to change.

They settled in front of the television, flipping to TV Tokyo as they waited for the anime to begin. But before the show started, an advertisement played.

The ZAGE logo appeared first, shining brightly, followed by the Toei logo. A deep, commanding voice announced:

"Choujin Sentai… Z-MAN!"

The screen lit up with a flashy, dynamic introduction, featuring five Sentai warriors, each with their own unique colors and designs.

Nagi and Wakana's eyes widened in shock. "WHOA!? A new Sentai series!?"

Then, an energetic, catchy theme song began to play:

🎶 Zetto, Zetto, Jettoman! 🎶 Let's go! Tobidase, oh! 🎶 Zetto, Zetto, Jettoman!

The scene shifted to introduce the first hero—a fierce red warrior.

"Z-Red! Flame Hawk!"

The Red Ranger posed dramatically, and the screen transitioned to 8-bit gameplay footage, showing the Red Hawk slashing enemies with his sword. In a fiery display, his blade transformed into a flaming hawk, soaring forward to strike enemies at a distance.

Then, the next Sentai hero appeared, accompanied by the energetic theme music Z-man theme song.

"Z-Blue! Gao Shark!"

A blue warrior with a shark-themed helmet posed, and the screen once again switched to gameplay footage. Z-Blue wielded a pair of sharp tonfas, striking enemies with lightning-fast combos. His special move had him dashing forward at high speed, a shark-shaped aura engulfing him as he struck down his foes.

The excitement kept building as the next warrior was introduced.

"Z-Yellow! Rai Ninja!"

A yellow ninja sentai leaped onto the screen then Posed Dramatically, then transitioned to 8 bit gameplay hurling thunder-infused shurikens at his enemies. His special move had him launching a barrage of explosive shurikens, each one crackling with lightning as they detonated on impact.

Then came the fourth member of the team.

"Z-Green! Dai Shishi!"

A powerful green sentai with a lion emblem on the side of his helmet Posed Dramatically and then the screen changed to gameplay again the green sentai twirled his bo staff before unleashing a roaring green lion-shaped energy wave at his enemies. making the enemy in gameplay die instantly.

Finally, the last member, the only female ranger, appeared.

"Z-Pink! Hana Mask!"

Dressed in a sleek pink suit, she wielded a glowing energy whip posing with elegance then the 8 bit gameplay showed striking down enemies with elegant, dance-like movements. Her special ability summoned a storm of pink petals infused with energy, each one homing in on her enemies.

Then, all five rangers appeared together, calling out their roll calls in both live-action footage and gameplay form each of the sentai do their Solo Stance.

🚨 Atsui Tamashii no Chou Senshi"Z-Red! Red Hawk!" 

🚨 Yuukan Tamashii no Chou Senshi"Z-Blue! Gao Shark!"

🚨Kakkoi Tamashii no Chou Senshi "Z-Yellow! Rai Ninja!"

🚨 Tokui Tamashi No chou senshi "Z-Green! Dai Shishi!"

🚨 Utsukushi Tamashi no Chou senshi "Z-Pink! Hana Mask!"

The Red Ranger raised his fist then put it down before slash it to his right side and shout. "Chikyū no Mirai o Mamoru Chou Senshi!" (Super Warriors who protect Earth's future!)

All changed their stance to team stance while the five rangers then shouted in unison. "Z-MAN!"

A massive Z-logo appeared behind them, shining brightly as the advertisement came to its climax.

Then, the final words appeared on the screen:

🔥 "Choujin Sentai Z-Man! Coming Soon to ZEPS!" 🔥

The commercial ended, and silence filled the room.

Wakana and Nagi sat frozen, their mouths hanging open. They had just witnessed something incredible.

"THAT. WAS. SO. DAMN. COOL!" Nagi practically shouted. "Every Sentai looks different, and they're all awesome! I NEED to get a ZEPS and play this game!"

Wakana nodded furiously. "Me too! We have to tell everyone about this!"

Their excitement for the anime they were supposed to watch had completely faded. Instead, their minds were now focused on one thing—getting a ZEPS console and playing Z-Man as soon as possible.

They rushed to their parents, practically begging them to buy a ZEPS, promising to do extra chores or ace their next exams if necessary. And they weren't the only ones.

That night, thousands of Super Sentai fans who saw the ad felt the same way. Those who didn't own a ZEPS suddenly wanted one. Those who already had a ZEPS were now eagerly waiting for the game's release.

It was clear—ZAGE had just created a massive cultural phenomenon.

And this was just the beginning
