Another World Fluffy Cafe

Ch88 - A Place in This World (end)

Chapter 28: A Place in This World

With a cheerful jingle from the doorbell, the first customer arrived at the new Mofu Mofu Café.

It was Griez, Nina, and Aruru, and they came bearing a bouquet of flowers, presenting it as a gift.

“Congratulations on your grand reopening!”

“Hello there!”

“This place looks pretty nice!”

“Thank you, everyone!”

Even though it was now a new Mofu Mofu Café, the systems and setup remained the same as before. Inside, there was a counter where customers could order drinks and snacks.

The three of them each ordered a café latte and tea before taking their seats.

“By the way, it feels much bigger now.”

“With this space, we can increase the number of fluffy ones! Knowing Taichi, I think it will happen in no time…”

Griez was looking around excitedly, while Nina was bubbling with enthusiasm. Aruru chuckled, thinking that Nina’s words would likely turn into reality soon.

“Oh? What’s that door over there?”

“Huh?”

The door Aruru pointed out was separate from the café’s entrance.

Griez immediately stood up and opened the door. What lay before them was a vast garden of the Mofu Mofu Café and a café terrace.

Low trees were adorned with hammocks, perfect for enjoying a leisurely time.

In the center of the café terrace stood an acorn tree, with Haruru dozing on a branch. At the base of the tree, Snow curled up, also taking a nap.

“Whoa, this is amazing!”

As Griez exclaimed in awe, a Cerberus with a ball in its mouth came running over.

“Oh! Customers are here!”

“Familiar faces!”

“Play with me, play with me!”

“Whoa, wait, are you asking me to play with you?”

Griez was smitten with the Cerberus, wagging its tail while holding the ball. “Alright, fine, I guess I can indulge you,” he said, grinning as he threw the ball far away.

In an instant, the Cerberus kicked off the ground and dashed towards the ball.

“Whoa! That speed is insane!!”

The sheer speed made Griez’s heart race.

If he had been facing it as an adventurer, he would have surely been taken down in an instant… That thought crossed his mind.

“The Mofu Mofu Café is, once again, a terrifying place…”

But soon after, the Cerberus returned with the ball, prompting Griez to throw it again.

Nina lay back in a hammock.

“Wow, this hammock is super comfy! I wish I could use it while camping.”

“That sounds great, but it takes up too much space, doesn’t it?”

“Yeah, that’s true… It would be nice to have a magical bag or something.”

“It’s impossible for our party to get a magical bag… Just think about how much it would cost if we bought one…”

Aruru shrugged, realizing they definitely didn’t have enough money.

“I know that, but hey! It’s okay to dream, right? Ahh, this feels so good… I could sleep.”

“Honestly…”

As she watched Nina start to doze off, Aruru couldn’t help but smile. Since they had come to celebrate the grand opening of the new Mofu Mofu Café, there were no other plans for the day.

Glancing at Griez, who was playing with the Cerberus, and at Nina, who had begun to drift off, Aruru returned to the café.

At that moment, a little Berry Rabbit rubbed against her leg. It was a dark brown Berry Rabbit named Choco, her favorite.

“You remember me, huh?”

As Aruru petted Choco’s head, she sat down on a sofa. Choco then jumped onto her lap.

“…!”

“Mi~”

Choco rubbed its head against Aruru’s arm as if asking for more pets. The scene was so adorable and endearing that even the usually composed Aruru couldn’t help but soften her expression.

“Just a little bit, okay…?!”

“Mi~u!”

When Aruru started petting Choco, it narrowed its eyes in delight.

“Honestly… such a little spoiled one.”

Sighing, Aruru continued to pet Choco.

“As expected, word has spread about the grand opening of the new Mofu Mofu Café, so we have a lot of customers today.”

“Right? Himeli, is everything alright inside?”

“No problem! Everyone’s just relaxing.”

Both the familiar and the customers were enjoying their free time.

Griez and the others were also having a good time. A variety of people had come, including Charles, Sophia, the master, apprentices, and merchants, all bringing gifts to celebrate, making Taichi busy with greetings.

“Everyone looks like they’re having a great time.”

“Himeli?”

“You see, I really love the Mofu Mofu Café! I’m so happy to work together with everyone. As a customer, I can’t bathe them or prepare their meals or anything like that.”

Though it had been tough at first, Himeli smiled, saying that now taking care of the fluffies was so much fun.

“Yeah. I was worried at first since I hadn’t taken care of animals before. But they were much more reliable than I imagined.”

He had expected taking care of them to be challenging, but it wasn’t a problem at all.

They didn’t make mistakes in the restroom, they took baths willingly, they ate their food, and most importantly, they could communicate.

“Being with everyone is so fun and makes me happy.”

“…Yeah.”

Himeli nodded at Taichi’s words.

“I’m sure things will get busier from now on.”

“Knowing Taichi, if he finds out there are fluffy monsters, he’ll rush right over.”

“…I can’t deny that.”

When he discovered the Forest Cat, he had rushed all the way to the neighboring country. If someone said there was a new cat-like monster on the other side of the world, he would probably leave right away.

(At this point, my love for cats is kind of scary…)

Even so, right now, he loved all the familiars.

He had a special fondness for cats, but he wouldn’t treat any of the familiars differently. Or at least, that was what he thought… probably.

(But, Luke is my first partner, and I do give him pretty good food…?)

No, but the great ingredients Luke brought back himself weren’t something he specially prepared for him.

Just as Taichi began to ponder over Luke, he suddenly spotted Luke coming into view.

“Taichi, I want to eat dragon jerky!”

“Alright, alright.”

Just the other day, he had gone dragon hunting with Luke, so he had plenty of dragon jerky on hand.

When he handed it over to Luke, he eagerly chomped down on it.

“Do you want some too, Himeli?”

As he said this, Taichi also took a piece for himself.

It was a bit tough, but once you tried it, it became addictive and impossible to stop.

“I want some! It’s delicious!”

“It’s great!”

Attracted by the scent of the dragon jerky, the other familiars began to show up as well.

“That’s not fair!”

“Don’t worry, there’s enough for everyone!”

Taichi smiled wryly as he handed out dragon jerky to everyone.

Once again, eating together made it all the more delicious.

The Mofu Mofu Café was happily open for business today as well.
