Chapter 52: Cheng Gang: Call Me Uncle
Villa No. 001, Third Lakeview District.
The Vajra Venerable, Cheng Gang, walked into the yard, glancing around, and said with a laugh,
"This place's pretty nice, little bro—got the lake view, a yard, the whole villa package."
This was the villa Xiao Ye got assigned to, where he lived with Nangong Siyao and Cheng Bingxi.
"Yeah, not bad," Xiao Ye replied.
The Vajra Venerable held up a bag and handed it to Xiao Ye.
"This is the shark root and deflated bladder from a Sea Shark Great Power at Great Venerable Realm, not much use to me anymore, so I'm giving them to you."
"You young folks probably won't need these yet, but hey, they make great collector's items."
Xiao Ye took the bag and peeked inside—damn! That thing was huge and honestly a little scary.
"Since it's a gift from you, Brother Cheng, I'll keep it."
Nangong Siyao and Cheng Bingxi leaned in, curious, caught a glance, and their pretty faces went red.
"I'll go make some tea!" "I'll go do laundry!" They both dashed away.
Xiao Ye stroked his chin, thinking, *Back when you two were wild beasts at night, you never blushed a bit.*
*Now something like this makes you shy?*
"I get it!" The Vajra Venerable, Cheng Gang, had zero of that big-shot attitude—he shot Xiao Ye a friendly look like, 'I feel you.'
"So, little bro, how's the new semester treating you?" Cheng Gang asked.
Xiao Ye frowned and said, "It's alright, I guess."
Cheng Gang noticed Xiao Ye didn't look too happy, so his expression darkened as he said, "Little bro, did something happen?"
"You can tell me."
"Whoever messed with my bro, I'll fuck him up!"
*Right now, Xiao Ye was his hero—fixed his long-standing, uh, 'problem' so he could finally lift his head around his wife. Anyone bullying Xiao Ye, The Vajra Venerable would be the first to throw hands.*
Xiao Ye hadn't planned to say anything, but since Cheng Gang had asked, he replied,
"It's not really a hassle, just ran into a few self-important idiots who throw their weight around at the academy because of their families, doing whatever they want, bullying people. Real untouchable types."
"What!?" The Vajra Venerable, Cheng Gang, burst out, furious.
"There are actually students that openly rotten at the academy? Unbelievable!"
Xiao Ye patted Cheng Gang's shoulder and sighed, "Yeah, so what? Not like it's something I can really fix."
"And from what I hear, that guy's family is crazy powerful."
The Vajra Venerable, Cheng Gang, shouted, "Little bro, did that guy mess with you? Who is he?"
"If anyone bullies my bro Xiao Ye, I swear I'll smack the crap outta him!"
"Big family, big deal—don't worry, little bro, no matter how high up he is, I'll handle it!"
Seeing Cheng Gang being so genuine, Xiao Ye thought it over and said, "The guy's from the student council. I don't know his name."
Cheng Gang continued, "That's fine, my son's stopping by in a bit. He knows this academy inside out—he'll know who it is for sure."
Right then, Cheng Gang's communicator rang. He answered, and a voice came through.
"Dad, I'm outside Villa No. 001, Third Lakeview—come get me."
Cheng Gang responded, "Got it."
He hung up, beaming, and said, "Little bro, my son's in his senior year at Kunpeng Combat Academy, knows the place well. If anything comes up, you can ask him, or call me."
"We'll help you out for sure!"
Xiao Ye felt pretty warm toward this Vajra Venerable Cheng Gang. "Thanks, Brother Cheng."
Cheng Gang waved his hand like it was nothing, then stepped out to open the gate and brought in a senior with a rolled-up long sleeve showing off a cyan dragon tattoo.
His son was Cheng Yi—the student council president. Catch the formatted version at M|V|LEM_PYR.
Cheng Yi grinned, "Dad, your friend really landed a place with a killer view."
Cheng Gang snapped him on the forehead and reminded him, "Cut the crap! That's my bro!"
"When you go in, remember to call him uncle, and be polite!"
Cheng Yi winced, clutching his head and swore, puffing up his chest, "Don't worry, Dad—social stuff is kinda my thing."
He carried a package of Longjing Tea—rumor was it was picked right alongside the Deep Pool of Flood Dragon, super rare, super fancy.
Cheng Gang nodded, gave his son's outfit a once over, tugged the long sleeve down over the cyan dragon tattoo, and, satisfied, closed the gate and led him into the villa's living room.
As Cheng Yi followed his dad inside, respect already on his face even before he'd seen anything, he called out, "Uncle, I've heard so much about you, your reputation really is something else."
But after just a second, he and Xiao Ye locked eyes, and he yelped, "Wait—why is it you!?"
Xiao Ye frowned, "You're Cheng Gang's kid?"
Cheng Gang saw how tense the vibe got and sensed something was off; he asked, sounding a little confused, "You guys know each other, little bro?"
Xiao Ye's mouth twitched. "This is the guy I told you about."
*He honestly never expected this student council president was actually Cheng Gang's son!*
"What the—?" The Vajra Venerable's expression was basically a giant question mark, and then he flew into a rage, smacking the back of Cheng Yi's head.
With a boom, Cheng Yi got smashed headfirst into the floor, leaving a nice little crater.
Cheng Gang roared, "So you're the little shit with no morals!"
He then went up and delivered two hard kicks to Cheng Yi's ass, the sound alone made it obvious how much strength he put in.
"Ow! That hurts!" Cheng Yi howled, his face all bruised and battered.
"Dad! What lack of morals? I don't even know what's going on!" he wailed miserably.
The Vajra Venerable, Cheng Gang, always made family values and manners a big deal—he was usually super strict about it. He scolded and hit Cheng Yi at the same time, yelling,
"You little bastard, real full of yourself now, huh? Just because your parents are Venerables, you think you can lord it over everyone at school and bully people."
"Good thing my bro warned me, otherwise we wouldn't have a clue—we'd just think you were up to your studies like you said."
Cheng Gang just got angrier the longer he went, and after ten minutes the floor on the first level was about to cave in.
Cheng Yi screamed and sobbed from the beating, but he didn't dare argue or fight back. All his usual pride was gone—he looked more like a drowning mutt than a student council president now.
Xiao Ye sat nearby, smirking and enjoying the whole show, munching snacks and sipping tea. *Honestly, this was the best entertainment he'd had all week.*
The Vajra Venerable, Cheng Gang, saw he'd punched a hole in the living room floor—could actually see the underground cultivation room below—so he finally stopped.
Looking a bit sheepish, he grinned at Xiao Ye,
"Sorry, I got a little carried away. Busted up your floor by accident."
Xiao Ye waved a hand, "No worries. If you're not done beating him, keep going—I don't mind."
Cheng Gang's eyes lit up—honestly, he wasn't done yet and his fists were itching!
Cheng Yi, still half-stuck in the floor, shivered all over, then dragged himself out with great effort, dropped to his knees in front of Xiao Ye, and begged,
"Uncle—Uncle Xiao, I was wrong!"
"I'll get someone to fix the hole, just no more hitting, please!"
"If you keep this up, I'm gonna die for real!"
