Chapter 51: Confronting the Student Council President, Vajra Supreme Arrives (Please Follow)
Facing the aggressive group, Xiao Ye felt nothing inside, his face calm as he said,
"What are the benefits of joining the student council?"
If Xiao Ye remembered correctly, back when the vice dean Yun Bing of Kunpeng Combat Academy invited him to join the academy, she had offered him the perks of serving as student council president, but he refused.
Later, Yun Bing gave him a cushy job, something like dean's assistant, if he recalled.
In Xiao Ye's impression, the student council was just a bunch of tools working for the school, running themselves ragged for nothing in return.
*But now, it seemed the student council was a little different.*
The student council president, with an Azure Dragon Tattoo, laughed immediately when he heard that and said, "There are plenty of perks to being in the student council."
His attitude obviously softened, and he continued to show off in front of Xiao Ye and the other two,
"At the academy, the student council is basically the official student organization that manages students. It comes with lots of privileges."
"You can also interact with the two Goddess Deans pretty often."
When he mentioned the Goddess Deans, little stars of admiration and infatuation sparkled in his eyes.
The rest of them lit up too at the mention of the Goddess Deans, obviously longing for and idolizing them.
At Kunpeng Combat Academy, there were the Kunpeng Double Queens, Dean Yunxi and Vice Dean Yun Bing, dream crushes of all the male students, noble goddesses you could only admire from afar, never defile.
Xiao Ye looked surprised, "That's it?"
Xiao Ye had just moved the Cloud Ice Brand Black Sachet away from his nose when the atrocious smell of Flying Lion Powder hit him, so he quickly put the sachet back by his nose, letting its intense fragrance chase away the stench.
He felt instantly better inhaling the subtle aroma.
The student council president looked smug and proud as he said, "Of course!"
"Isn't everyone here for one of those two things?"
The group of student council members chimed in, "Exactly! It's all about power—or getting close to the goddesses!"
Xiao Ye inhaled the scent, eyes full of disdain as he said,
"So the mighty student council is just this? I thought you were something classy."
"You're just a bunch of self-important trash!"
"You really buy your own hype as the official school organization."
The student council group looked pissed, almost losing their cool.
The student council president just smiled. These words weren't enough to piss him off yet.
Nangong Siyao and Cheng Bingxi also spoke up with scornful faces, "Seriously, kicking people out just for eating? You act like some kind of thug."
"Ten years without graduating—just because your family has a little influence, you get to strut around the academy throwing your weight?"
"If you actually had to go hunt a Demon Beast, you'd probably piss your pants."
"Yo! This bitch has a filthy mouth." The student council president finally lost it. The ten-years-no-graduation jab was aimed right at him.
Other student council members graduated in four years—it was only him, thanks to his elders' ties to the vice and dean, who could stick around ten years.
The student council, seeing their president break down, looked at each other, uneasy.
Most of them were sophomores, a couple were juniors, but none were seniors. Seniors long ago left the council to fight Sea Beasts at the marine frontier.
Honestly, within the student council, only the president was a senior.
The student council president's face went dark, and he was about to speak up when Xiao Ye cut him off,
"Don't bother, we're never joining such a garbage organization!"
Finishing his Flying Lion Powder, Xiao Ye grabbed Nangong Siyao and Cheng Bingxi and walked out of the cafeteria, heading toward the wide avenue.
"Damn, they're cockier than I was in my first year! Everyone, let's catch up and teach him a lesson."
The student council president's words sparked objections from others,
"Boss, maybe we shouldn't. It's only the start of the semester—if we beat up the top entrance-exam student and people up top get mad, what then?"
"Yeah, we've got a little authority, and some school pranks are fine, but if we gang up and assault someone for no reason, that's a big deal..." Catch the formatted version at M|V|LEM_PYR.
"Right, chasing someone out at lunch is one thing, but the entrance-exam champ? That's something else."
The president's face went black as charcoal, and he answered impatiently, "What, you scared? If anything happens, I'll take the heat, I already said so!"
"Now get out there and beat him up. Move!"
But the others just glanced at each other and didn't move a muscle.
"You guys!" The president was furious, but helpless.
"Boss, forget it. Let's just make their life a little harder whenever we get the chance."
"Right, one irritation a day. Eventually, they'll give in and join the council!"
The others hurried to agree.
The president sighed, face turning vicious as he said, "Fine, do it your way."
*As long as those three joined the council, he could find all sorts of excuses to kick their asses. Even if people up top paid attention, they couldn't really complain. In his ten years, he'd learned that the higher-ups almost never cared what went on in the student council anyway!*
With that, they started eating, and the student council president's comm rang. He took the call.
The student council president, Cheng Yi, suddenly turned pale—it was his father, Cheng Gang, on the line.
His father, Cheng Gang, had always been strict with him, and inside, he felt a bit afraid.
"Hey, Xiaoyi, I'll be dropping by your academy in a bit." A rough voice came from the other side.
Hearing that, Cheng Yi's pupils shrank, and he said carefully, "Dad, what are you coming here for?"
*He couldn't be coming to beat my ass, could he?*
*Or to force me to the Sea Beast Battlefield, or into the exam division?*
*Cheng Yi didn't want any of that. He just wanted to chill at Kunpeng Academy, being student council president.*
"I'm catching up with an old friend!" Cheng Gang sounded pretty excited, "When I get there, I'll introduce you guys."
*Friend? At Kunpeng Academy? Some new power?*
Cheng Yi suddenly brightened. His father was a Venerable. His dad's friends had to be Great Venerables at least, right?
*If I get to meet a Great Venerable, hell, that's exciting!* Xiao Ye's bullshit already forgotten.
Grandmaster, Great Grandmaster, Venerable, Great Venerable, Supreme Venerable. Each major realm was split into ten sub-stages.
"Sounds good, Dad. Just call me when you get here. I'll come right away!" Cheng Yi was excited.
Cheng Gang laughed, "Deal! But make sure you behave. He's my best buddy!"
Cheng Yi promised repeatedly, "No problem!"
After hanging up, Cheng Yi boasted to the student council members,
"I'm about to meet a Great Venerable in a bit. You all eat. I'm gonna go change and prepare a gift."
The others looked envious, exclaiming,
"Damn, a Great Venerable? Sick!"
"No wonder you're a Supreme Venerable's son. Boss, you're next level!"
"Boss, introduce us when you get a chance!"
Cheng Yi dusted off his butt and left the cafeteria, everyone watching him with envy.
Meanwhile, Xiao Ye was wandering around campus with two beautiful girls, Nangong Siyao and Cheng Bingxi, when he got a call from Vajra Venerable Cheng Gang.
On the other end, Cheng Gang sounded passionate and excited as he said,
"Little brother, I'm here!"
