Ancestral Lineage

Chapter 370: Ancestors: Blood

The world of mortals was filled with very interesting things, and one was level advancement. From high races to lower races, from humanoid being to beasts, one thing they relished in was advancement in levels. There could be factors that differentiated one from the rest; be it bloodline, lineage, Path, wealth, talent, resources etc. But ultimately, the level advancement was what they relished in more. Starting from the Novice Level to the Saint Realm for intelligent races or from Bronze Rank to the Sacred Realm for beasts.

Advancement in levels came with a lot of advantages for one. From the Novice Level or Bronze Rank to the Grandmaster Level or Supreme Rank, advancement was pretty simple and straightforward. Train, cultivate, break your limits and level up. Pretty simple. There were variables like Ethan and Trevor who could just breakthrough like it was nothing, even skipping some levels.

But the real challenge started when one reached the Emperor Realm, the last but one level before the fabled Saint Realm. If the lower levels were just body cultivation, then the real cultivation started from the Emperor Realm. From this level, you fought with paths and glimpses of concepts relating to your affinity. This was where you started using magic instead of affinity. And that made it the more difficult.

Trevor Sanguivar Smith, King Sanguivar as he was called, was a victim of this. He was known as the strongest man in Anbord, after the emperor and it was the truth. But what they didn't know was that he was still at the Grandmaster Level, funny right?

He was strong, powerfully so. He could fight Emperor Realm beings and come out on top but he himself was not there. This made him the more dangerous to his enemies the moment they realized this. He was a MONSTER!

The reason for this was pretty simple though. He was a singularity in the world. Singularities in the world, also known as Primogenitors, were beings who most of the time broke common sense. You could take Ethan for example, who was a hybrid Primogenitor of both a vampire and a dwarf. He was so broken that he literally skipped a lot of levels and got to the Saint Realm. The only downside was that, as compared to other saints, he was a fraud.

Trevor was almost the same as Ethan in this situation but in his case, he didn't have the full help of the system or the Grimoire of Order. He was given rewards. Rewards many would die for. First, he became a vampire, then a vampire progenitor of the highest order. Like it wasn't enough, he was granted the status of an Ancestor. With this, he evolved into a Blood Primogenitor in a pretty simple way. What most would take years even centuries to achieve, he could achieve in just the blink of an eye.

"Come to think of it, it's been only 23 or so years since we awakened and we are already gods in the mortal realm," Trevor chuckled as he spoke to a white-haired man beside him. He almost bore a resemblance to Trevor. The only difference was his white crystalline skin.

"Master you are just that talented," the man who looked to be in his early twenties said with an expressionless face and a flat tone, like it was fact.

"Guess so..." Thinking about it, Trevor was the contrast of talent. When he was eligible for awakening, he used more than fifty awakening stones, and they all failed. He was the trash of the Smith Family. He had no one apart from his sister, Silver. His position as the heir was stripped off him and given to an adoptive child. His little brother disrespected him very much and his own blood mother, hated him. The only people he had in this world were Silver and his best friend who also turned out to be his half-brother, Ethan. Then Madeleine, Ethan's mother came into the picture. At first, when the truth was out, he thought she would hate him as he was the son of a bastard, but no. She took him and called him son. Then his lovely wives, Emily and Sixtie.

But everything started when Carmen, who was at the time his principal and teacher, prepared a highly dangerous awakening method for him. Beast Awakening. After that, he advanced at a steady pace, showing to the world the talent he'd hidden for so long. Then he turned into a vampire seemingly through an ancestral inheritance and the rest is history.

"Apole, we've been holding back for far too long. It's time to advance. Are you ready?" Trevor said as he glanced at one of his closest companions. His spirit beast, Apole, the Death Skull.

"But master, what of your second affinity? Won't you find a spirit beast for it?" Apole asked. He remembered when a woman had appeared to them and given them a "gift". This gift was seemingly an affinity. The Sound affinity. Her origin was unknown, but they could tell that she was above a mortal for that matter.

"I plan to but after we create the base for our ascension. We will fully advance to the Emperor Realm after this whole fiasco of a war," Trevor said with a small smirk.

What was the Emperor Realm?

To Ethan who had the system, it was just another level to reach. He even skipped it! Fuck you, Ethan!

But, to the masses, what normalcy deemed, the Emperor Realm was a huge domain on its own. Why was the name Emperor? It was because you were supposedly a king, an emperor of your own power, your own self and your own domain.

Lower levels had the ability to create something like a domain, but it was just a small change of terrain through the use of their power. But when it came to the Emperor Realm, you created a domain based on your very essence.

Ethan of course skipped these, that was why he had to go back and build his base before he would become a legit Saint.

Fighting an Emperor, which Trevor had experienced many times was akin to one man fighting a whole kingdom. You wouldn't know where an attack came from. The worse and perhaps the most dreadful ability of Emperors to most was their domains or their empire.

Imagine entering a world of fire, where everything was fire. From buildings to living beings. They weren't really living or even real in the truest sense, but the very essence of the person you were fighting.

But the worst one of all to Trevor, was their truth. The truth of Emperors, their self, their avatar.

"I still can't believe that mother's avatar would be that..." He shivered when he remembered one of his training sessions with his mother. If his father hadn't been around, he would have had to use one of his secret survival techniques and even that wasn't an assurance that he could escape in one piece. Imagine Hell and Nirvana as one. Hell would torture you till death, but Nirvana would never allow you to even get wounds, much less die.

"So how would we make the base?" Apole asked, already expecting an answer.

"We will use the path as a base," Trevor answered with a malicious glint in his eyes, which Apole shared. As they said, birds of the same feathers, flock together. They were certified partners in crime.

Woe to who would fall in their clutches.
