an illusion of mind

in a large classroom sat several students with the school uniform, all of them had a symbol sewn into their uniform, these were all royal class students, among them sat Arron the only commoner in the royal class, look down nervously, next to him sat Amanda humming to herself carefreely, she was as enthusiastic as ever.

Arron could feel the gazes of his classmates on his back.

the door to the classroom opened and a blond haired student walked into the classroom, he was a boy with golden eyes and blonde hair, he had a bright smile to him and he greeted his classmates as he walked past them, however to Arron's surprise Amanda's humming quietened when the boy walked in, and she turned visibly serious.

the blonde boy walked over to them and he spoke up "good morning..." he trailed off his smile widening before he spoke again, "sister~".

Arron gasped and he felt even more gazes fall on them.

"what do you want evan?" Amanda glared at him, her usual carefree and nonchalant attitude being replaced by a serious and annoyed expression.

"is it wrong for a brother to greet his sister?" even spoke his smirk widening.

Amanda gritted her teeth but before she could speak, someone yells over her "what is she doing here?!" Adam yells as he pointed a finger at a blonde girl with blood red eyes, regina.

"is it wrong for me to be sitting at a classroom as a student?" Regina tilted her head to the side feigning confusion.

"no! you know exactly what i mean! what are you doing in the royal class, what is an idiot like you doing here?" adam glared at regina, however the blonde girl only tilted her head to the side confusedly.

"is it wrong for me to be here?" she said smirking, she was clearly enjoying pissing him off.

adam gritted his teeth but before he could curse at her, evan intervenes and tries calming down the situation.

"hey now friends! let's not chew each other out alright?" he said putting a hand on adam's shoulder.

Arron looked at evan trying to de-escalate the situation, Arron tilted his head to the side confused, evan seemed like a genuinely nice guy, why was Amanda rude to him?

"Amanda? what's going on between you and your brother? if it's fine to ask..." Arron asked curiously turning to look at Amanda who was still glaring at evan.

"he's a two faced annoying bastard! that's what he is!" she said crossing her arms and scoffing as she watched him separating Regina and Adam.

"really? he seems like a nice guy." Arron said looking at evan.

"don't fall for his tricks Arron, he's a piece of garbage who doesn't deserve to be in the royal class."

"alright, whatever you say." Arron confused just shrugged and turned back to talk with Amanda.

so far there were clear hostilities in the classroom, there was Regina and Adam, an interesting bunch, and then there was Evan and Amanda his sister.

he looked at Regina which was sticking out her tongue and making faces at Adam who was getting increasingly annoyed only being held off by Evan.

Arron looked at the scene, and chuckled, it was comical, his chuckle garnered the attention of adam who was incredibly angry right now, "what the hell are you laughing at commoner?!"

Arron was surprised by Adam's attention and he pointed to himself and asked confusedly "me?"

"who else? dickhead!"

Regina also looked towards Arron curiously before turning back to adam, "hey, you don't need to involve other students in this." she spoke in a calm manner.

"you shut up, you dumb bitch." he glared at her gritting his teeth, Regina stood up and was about to smack him before Evan stopped her.

the door opened and a new student walked in, she had blue hair and a dignified expression, she walked with grace, her face never changing from it's serious expression, she was literally everything that was expected of a noble, and Arron hoped that she wouldn't be an evil one.

she walked in and took her seat quietly.

"that's evelyn lumine, she's the arch duke's daughter." Amanda looked over Arron's shoulder and looked at evelyn.

"lumine?! you mean that duke?!" Arron gasped when he heard her name.

"yes him, i didn't expect her to be here." she said rubbing her chin.

he looked back at her in surprise and admiration.

he noticed Regina staring at evelyn with a strange look before she turned away and her smile returned to her face, Adam was sitting far away from her grumbling to himself, evan also took a seat in the front row sitting down tiredly after having resolved the issue.

after all the students were in the classroom the door the class opened and in walked the professor, he was a dignified man with grey hair and silver eyes, he put down his study material and spoke up.

"good morning students, my name is alfred grey and i will be your homeroom professor for the next years." he spoke and he looked at each and every student in the class;

"first i would like to explain a couple of things to you, the principal had already explained it but i would repeat for those who couldn't attend the ceremony or for some reason weren't paying attention." the professor spoke, his voice had an authoritative tone to it.

"all of you are honoured and respected students of the royal class, each and everyone of you here are the elite of the elite of the students of prism, you will get special privelages however we would expect good results from all of you, there are levels to classes in prism, the highest being the royal class, and right under it there are from the A-class, to E-class." he explained.

"and one more thing the royal class being the highest would have special exams or missions assigned to it, unlike other classes." the professor said.

"now most of you here are important people of society either you being children of nobles or royalty..." he trailed off as his eyes flicked over to Amanda and Evan before lingering on Arron, Arron gulped as he was the only commoner here, he feared he wouldn't be treated the same.

"i would like to tell all of you that your rank does not matter, all of you will be treated the same no matter what the only difference being class rank." the professor said, this simple statement garnered several gasps and complains from several nobles students.

"if you have a problem then leave prism academy, if anyone of you were to be caught abusing their ranks, you will be punished accordingly." the professor said his eyes roaming over the students in the class.

this managed to silence the students.

"then if you don't have any questions, i will begin the lesson." the professor said turning to the black board picking up a chalk as he started teaching.
