Chapter 42 - Home (1)
After An Yun heard Zang Ya’s frank and unabashed admission, he didn’t know how to react for a moment, and even had a dazed look on his face.
Looking back at Zang Ya’s past, he actually had some clues, but at that time, he had been worried that he would become Zang Ya’s forbidden love, so he hadn’t thought about it in that regard.
It seemed that An Yun had been stunned for a long time. Zang Ya looked at him with some confusion and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Zang Ya’s confused tone and look made An Yun wonder if he was making a fuss over nothing, which was why he was so shocked by this matter.
An Yun thought for a while and decided that it was better to be a pet than to be a concubine. At least a pet only needed to enjoy being pampered, while a concubine had to sleep and please the master.
Although An Yun comforted himself in this way, he still felt a little unhappy and could only say dryly, “No, it’s nothing.”
What could he say?
If he said that he didn’t want to be Zang Ya’s pet, would he be kicked out directly?
If he agreed to be Zang Ya’s pet, would that seem too flattering? He couldn’t say that either.
An Yun pursed his lips, raised his head, and glanced at Zang Ya, only to see Zang Ya looking at him.
Zang Ya seemed to have been watching him for a long time. When An Yun raised his eyes to meet his, he could see that Zang Ya’s eyes were full of deep thought.
After meeting An Yun’s eyes, Zang Ya seemed to think for a moment, then placed his hand on An Yun’s head and said warmly, “Don’t be afraid, I will be good to you.”
An Yun’s face turned red, and he didn’t know what to say. If he hadn’t known that Zang Ya really regarded him as a pet, he would have been anxious for a long time before falling asleep tonight.
Zang Ya, however, looked at An Yun’s shy expression and thought he was a little cute like this. He reached out and pinched An Yun’s cheek, still going his own way, as if he didn’t care how much trouble his actions caused others.
.
Later, Zang Ya took An Yun to play for a long time, but after dinner, Zang Ya took An Yun away directly.
An Yun had come here with Zang Ya, and since Zang Ya said he wanted to go back, An Yun naturally had no reason to stay.
Zang Ya was about to leave, but the others planned to stay and experience more of the rich nightlife here. After all, they felt it wasn’t worthwhile to come all this way and leave early.
Zang Ya always didn’t care about the rest of the group. He said something to them and then left with An Yun in hand, minding his own business.
Seeing that Zang Ya was about to leave, Cheng Ming, who had just won first place at the banquet and received the jade ring, thought for a while, gritted his teeth, and followed with his Persian cat in his arms.
When the others saw this, some sneered, some were disdainful, some enjoyed the show, and others were jealous.
Just like when they had arrived, Zang Ya first carried An Yun onto the horse, then sat behind him, hugged him, and prepared to leave.
Just as Zang Ya and his party were about to depart, a man’s urgent voice suddenly called out, accompanied by huffing and puffing breaths, “Young Master Zang, Young Master Zang, please wait.”
Zang Ya pulled the reins and stopped, looking down to see Cheng Ming running up to him, with a servant behind carrying a straw cage with the cat inside.
The cat seemed to have a very good temperament. Even after being carried by its owner and running the entire way, it didn’t show any fear or stress. It just pawed at the cage and observed the surroundings.
An Yun stared at the Persian cat, thinking it was really well-raised. Its fur was so fluffy that it looked like a white cloud. He had wanted to raise a cat like this in his previous life, but at the time, he had struggled to support himself, let alone afford such a treasure. So, the idea had remained just a dream, never realized.
After Cheng Ming stopped Zang Ya, he first saluted Zang Ya, then raised his head to look at him and An Yun. His eyes swept over An Yun, and seeing An Yun staring at his cat, Cheng Ming instantly knew his plan was working.
Cheng Ming took a step back, took the cage with the cat from the servant’s hand, raised it in front of Zang Ya, and said, “Fortunately, the young master appreciated me and promoted me to win this victory. Since the young master has taken a liking to this cat, I am willing to give it to him, hoping the young master won’t dislike it.”
Zang Ya had noticed Cheng Ming’s small gesture. He looked at the cat, then turned to An Yun and saw his eyes brighten slightly, as if he truly wanted it. Zang Ya then said, “In that case, I would be disrespectful to refuse.”
After saying that, Zang Ya nodded toward the attendant nearby.
The attendant understood, jumped off the horse, took the cat’s cage, covered it with the black cloth that Cheng Ming had brought, and then secured it to the saddle.
An Yun watched the series of actions, wondering if it was right to suddenly take away something someone else cherished. Although he liked the cat, he had never thought of taking it from anyone.
Unexpectedly, as he looked away from the attendant handling the cat, he glanced down and saw Cheng Ming smiling broadly. His joy seemed to rival that of winning the banquet earlier when Zang Ya announced him as the victor.
