Chapter 41 - Reward (2)
The person preparing below looked at the interaction between Zang Ya and An Yun above, suddenly thought of something, and said to the person above, “Young Master Zang, I have one more thing to ask.”
Zang Ya turned to look at the man. The man could clearly see that the eyes that had been a little warm when he looked at the little shuanger turned cold the moment he turned around.
The young master who asked the question felt a little embarrassed and muttered in his heart that he was not that bad; how could Zang Ya not smile at all when he saw him?
However, the slander was just a slander, and the young master did not dare to say anything. He could only raise a smile and say, “Since Young Master Zang held this banquet today, he must have brought pets. I don’t know whether Young Master Zang’s pets want to go in the stage too?”
When everyone heard this, they stopped what they were busy doing and turned their heads to stare in Zang Ya’s direction.
How could they forget that Zang Ya had also brought a pet? If he let his pet in later and casually designated it to be first, wouldn’t they have no chance at all?
If that were the case, why were they still preparing here? Wouldn’t it be better to just give up?
In the eyes of everyone, Zang Ya put his hand on An Yun’s shoulder, as if hugging him, played with his hair, and replied lightly, “My pet will never show his talent here.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and then went to seize the time to prepare, determined to earn Zang Ya’s reward.
An Yun became more and more confused as he listened. From Zang Ya’s tone, he should have brought a pet, but he had not seen it there until now.
This made him a little perplexed, and he even vaguely gave birth to some strange thoughts, but the thought only had one thread, and he couldn’t figure it out yet.
Just as An Yun was deep in thought, something touched his lips, and he smelled the sweet taste of fruit on the tip of his nose. When he was in the house, Zang Ya would do this suddenly, as if he would feed An Yun some when he got interested.
So, smelling the fragrance on the tip of his nose, An Yun opened his mouth to catch it and then ate it.
When he realized that they were outside now, An Yun felt a little embarrassed. Turning his head to look to the side, he saw those people watching them, with teasing smiles on their lips.
An Yun suddenly felt bad, and his cheeks turned crimson.
Fortunately, this scene did not last long. As the first person started to perform, those people looked away.
Since they were at a banquet, and the person organizing this time was Zang Ya, even though they didn’t know there would be such a competition before coming, they still brought the most powerful pets in their families.
Therefore, the pet talent show at that time was not embarrassing at all and even became extra interesting because of the hard work of these young masters.
An Yun even saw a Persian cat with snow-white fur and green eyes, but it was extremely docile. Under its master’s command, it performed various difficult movements, as if it were an animal spirit.
After a competition, although there were some people who were just trying to fish out, most of them still had real skills, which amazed An Yun.
It wasn’t until the last person finished his performance and sat back in his seat with his dog in his arms, feeding the tired dog two mouthfuls of food, that he, like the others, raised his eyes to look at Zang Ya, who was sitting in the main seat, waiting to hear his opinion.
Zang Ya agreed to the competition and also provided the prizes, but now he was watching these performances with no interest and seemed unconcerned.
Facing the looks from everyone, Zang Ya thought for a moment and then said, “I chose the performance of the boy from the Cheng family. It’s very interesting.”
Cheng Ming, who was sitting at the end of the seat and had forgotten about it after his performance, was still sitting obediently with the Persian cat in his arms, handing the pet two pieces of dried meat from time to time.
At that moment, when he suddenly heard that Zang Ya had chosen him, Cheng Ming raised his head and stared at Zang Ya, still in disbelief, “Young Master Zang, do you think my performance is interesting?”
“Well, it’s a good performance.”
Cheng Ming’s Persian cat looked smarter than the other animals there. It had performed a show with Cheng Ming, including obstacle running, carrying things, a lion dance, and even a scene where the pet and owner pretended to dislike each other before the pet came to please the master.
After hearing the results announced by Zang Ya, the rest of the people had a bit of dissatisfaction on their faces, but no one seemed able to say anything against it.
Cheng Ming was extremely happy, with an excited look on his face. He even raised his hands above his head and shouted a few times, then immediately put them down as if he realized something was wrong.
But soon, after Cheng Ming came to his senses, he approached Zang Ya, saluted him, and said, “It is an honour for me to be appreciated by Young Master Zang.”
Zang Ya nodded, agreed on the time to deliver the prize next time, and then asked Cheng Ming to step back.
The rest of the people looked at this scene and murmured among themselves, appearing particularly dissatisfied, but they only dared to express their discontent with their words and did nothing more.
Cheng Ming was so excited that he didn’t care what the people around him were saying about him.
An Yun watched as Cheng Ming, retreating from the indignant gazes of those around him, hugged his Persian cat, kissing it tenderly, looking particularly thrilled.
An Yun observed Cheng Ming’s behaviour toward the cat, and suddenly a thought occurred to him. He turned to look at Zang Ya beside him and saw that he was playing with An Yun’s hair, causing An Yun’s heart to skip a beat.
An Yun swallowed hard, and finally couldn’t help but ask, “Young master, is the pet you were talking about… me?”
Immediately, An Yun saw Zang Ya raise his eyebrows, then nod frankly and without hesitation, “Yeah.”
An Yun: “…”
Although he had guessed it, he still felt a little choked up when he heard Zang Ya’s straightforward admission.
