Chapter 33 - Trade (2)
Seeing that Old Madam Zang was silent, Zang Ya didn’t seem to have much patience to wait any longer, so he continued: “Grandma, you may not know, this may be the last errand of the emperor for the Song family. If this thing doesn’t go well, I’m afraid the Song family will no longer exist.”
Old Madam Zang’s old face showed a bit of nervousness. She stared at her grandson with a complicated expression, as if she were meeting him for the first time. There was a bit of calmness in her tone as she asked, “What do you want?”
Zang Ya spoke slowly, “The Song family will gain wealth in recent years in exchange for the life of my little pet.”
When Old Madam Zang heard this, the feeling in her heart became clearer. She just stared at Zang Ya with a hint of melancholy in her tone, “After all, the Song family is also your grandma’s family, they are still your uncles and aunties. If I don’t agree, will you take action?”
Zang Ya didn’t answer Old Madam Zang’s words; he simply stood there and looked up at her with no emotion in his eyes.
Old Madam Zang squeezed the armrest harder and harder, but she never spoke.
The atmosphere was silent for a moment, as if it had returned to its original sombre and depressing mood.
After a while, Old Madam Zang closed her eyes and opened them again. She laughed, stared at Zang Ya in front of her, and said, “In this case, I will follow you. I will let that little bitch go this once. Please save my Song family.”
Zang Ya bowed his hands and saluted her, “Thank you, Grandma.”
After saying this, Zang Ya turned around and left.
.
Once Zang Ya had left, Old Madam Zang, who had been calm, threw the things she was holding and went out, letting them fall to pieces on the ground.
As her chest rose and fell, Old Madam Zang was almost out of breath.
The old maid standing next to her hurriedly came forward and helped her along her back. “Old madam, why are you so angry? It’s not worth it to be so upset. Even if you love the young master, you shouldn’t take his words too seriously. Why did you agree to him casually?”
Old Madam Zang calmed down after a few moments and then said with a wry smile, “You don’t understand. Since he said that, it proves he can do it. He has never spoken nonsense since he was a child. The Zang family members are all monsters, and my grandson is the best among them!” Even though he was such a genius, he was still confused by that bitch.
As Old Madam Zang spoke, her old and cloudy eyes showed a mix of pride, entanglement, and hatred.
The old maid looked at her and knew that she had made too many concessions for her family’s sake, but she could not ask her to disregard her own side.
After weighing the situation for a long time, the old maid could only open her mouth and persuade Old Madam Zang: “Old madam, don’t worry. We have a long time ahead. Since this shuanger lives in the house, we will definitely find the time to deal with him.”
Old Madam Zang was angry for a while. Listening to her old maid’s words, she finally lost some of her anger and said, “You are right; the days are long. I am tired. Help me in to rest.”
“Yes.” The old maid helped her madam in respectfully.
After the old lady left, the maids, who had been like puppets, came to life one by one and quickly cleaned up the mess on the ground.
However, when one of the maids swept the area near the door, she found a few drops of blood on the carpet and immediately started to worry.
After struggling for a while, the little maid went to the inner room, quietly pulled the old lady’s old maid, and informed her about the blood she had just seen, fearing that the old lady had hurt herself by smashing something.
The old maid confirmed that her madam was unharmed aside from her anger and dismissed the little maid’s concerns. “The young master just came back and made such a big fuss. I’m afraid he accidentally got some blood on himself and brought it in with him. Don’t worry about it; just change the carpet.”
“Yes.” The little maid felt uneasy but, since the old maid said so, she had no choice but to accept it. She nodded respectfully and left.
The little maid called her companions to move the object on the carpet, rolled it from one end to the other, wrapped it up, and then carried it out.
.
Zang Ya left Old Madam Zang’s yard and went straight to An Yun’s yard. The servants who had been showing off their power in front of An Yun just moments before lowered their heads and stepped aside, allowing Zang Ya to pass without hindrance. No one dared to stop him.
Upon stepping into An Yun’s house, Zang Ya saw people busily moving in and out, but no one made a sound.
Zang Ya stepped forward and walked inside. No one dared to stop him until he entered and saw Qing Yue standing there, giving orders.
Qing Yue noticed his arrival and immediately walked over. She bowed first and then said, “An Fulang’s life has been saved, but the situation doesn’t seem to be good.”
“I know,” Zang Ya replied, approaching An Yun’s bed. Xiao Cui, whose eyes were red from crying, was waiting there. At that moment, she was following the maids to arrange a bed for An Yun so that he could lay down more comfortably.
When Zang Ya passed by, they were still a little panicked, and they all stepped aside obediently.
Xiao Cui was the last one to get up. She looked at An Yun laying on the bed, then at Zang Ya. She gritted her teeth but still didn’t cover An Yun.
So, Zang Ya, who came to check on An Yun’s condition, opened the curtain and saw An Yun laying on the bed with his back exposed.
However, the smooth back was now full of marks from the stick. Even after the medicine had been applied, the redness and swelling were still visible, with blood seeping through in some places.
