Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Luck

"Hmph, what would you do, Master Diviner, if I brought Lady Lumina with me to the Card Pavilion?"

Recalling Fu Xuan's words from their phone call, Qingque dismissed them without concern. You said you couldn't see me alone at the Card Pavilion? Well, if I bring Lady Lumina, I won't be alone anymore, right?

In an instant, Qingque had found the loophole in Fu Xuan's statement.

"So, do you accept this assignment?" Jing Yuan asked with a smile, observing Qingque's expression.

Upon hearing this, Qingque's face immediately turned serious, radiating an air of "If not me, then who?"

"This is an assignment issued by the General and the Master Diviner. How could Qingque possibly refuse?"

Jing Yuan nodded, fully aware of Qingque's inner thoughts. He wasn't particularly bothered by her tendency to slack off. Young people should have some energy. As long as they don't blindly charge into things without knowing anything, like Yanqing...

Seeing the situation, Lumina knew it was time for her to take the initiative.

She stood up and extended her hand to Qingque. "In your Xianzhou terms, I believe this is called a handshake, right?" Lumina tilted her head slightly, offering Qingque a genuine smile.

This smile, like the very first one she had shown, was utterly pure and unblemished—the most sincere and innocent smile imaginable.

"Then, I look forward to working with you."

"..."

Qingque froze, staring at Lumina's smile. She had never seen anything like it before—a smile that seemed to heal the wounds in her heart, filling her with warmth and comfort.

Snapping out of her daze, Qingque looked at Lumina and felt her affection for her grow tenfold. A smile bloomed on her face as she grasped Lumina's hand.

"Yeah, I look forward to working with you too!"

"..."

Watching the two of them, Jing Yuan rested his chin in his hand, deep in thought.

"It seems I've figured out how to deal with Lumina..."

"Lady Lumina, how exactly would you like me to divine for you?" Qingque asked as they left the Seat of Divine Foresight, gazing at the picturesque Exalting Sanctum before them.

Lumina shook her head and smiled. "There's no need for honorifics. Just call me Lumina, or Sister Lumina, if you prefer."

"Alright, then I'll call you Sister Lumina," Qingque nodded readily. She much preferred calling Lumina "Sister" to "Lady." She couldn't quite explain why, but perhaps it was because Lumina looked so young and had no airs about her.

Lumina's smile widened as she replied to Qingque's earlier question: "Just divine my luck for the day each morning. Tell me where it's safe to go and where to avoid, to save me some trouble."

"Okay! Shall we do one now?" Qingque nodded, glancing at the time. It was still early enough that a slightly later start would still count as morning.

"I appreciate it, Qingque," Lumina said with a smile, accepting Qingque's suggestion.

After Lumina agreed, Qingque pulled several smooth, jade-like stones from her pocket.

"Sister Lumina, just pick one!"

"Is this... Celestial Jade?" Lumina examined the cards before her and casually selected one.

This was her first time using Celestial Jade for divination. She wondered what Fu Xuan's expression had been when she first discovered Qingque's method.

"Oh? Sister Lumina actually knows about this!" Qingque's eyes lit up again, impressed by Lumina's knowledge.

"Celestial Jade is quite famous on Luofu," Lumina replied. "I've heard plenty of stories about it—tales of overnight riches and sudden bankruptcies." She smiled and began weaving a story.

"Sigh..." Qingque shook her head, sighing as she listened to Lumina's tale. "Those are just rare cases. Most people just play with friends for fun, to unwind and relieve stress."

After Qingque finished speaking, she picked up the card Lumina had chosen and glanced at it.

"Oh?"

Qingque's eyebrow arched slightly as she studied the divination result, a hint of delight flickering across her face. The outcome appeared quite promising.

"Sister Lumina, I never imagined you'd have such a strong connection with Celestial Jade," Qingque remarked, gathering her cards with a hint of wonder in her voice.

"Hmm? What makes you say that?" Lumina asked, noticing that Qingque had put the cards away without showing her the reading.

"We were just talking about the Card Pavilion and Celestial Jade," Qingque replied with a smile. "And then the divination revealed..."

"...that most of your luck today is concentrated in the Card Pavilion."

"So, you mean I'd have particularly good luck playing Celestial Jade there today?" Lumina asked, beginning to grasp Qingque's meaning.

"Exactly!" Qingque nodded eagerly, then quickly added, as if afraid Lumina might misunderstand, "This isn't just me making things up, okay? It's what the cards actually showed!"

"I understand," Lumina assured her, sensing Qingque's sincerity.

Still, all her luck focused in the Card Pavilion today?

"No time to waste—let's head over there right away!" Qingque declared, already striding forward to lead the way.

"Alrighty~♪"

As Lumina watched Qingque's retreating figure, a knowing smile curled her lips. Perhaps she now understood exactly why all her luck was destined for the Card Pavilion today...
