Accelerator Vampire

Chapter 14: 14. Henry

Axel sat down in the chair and leaned back.

John continued to speak to Axel, "Axel, come and tell these fools about the power of an Alpha. Axel knew John's true power.

While training with John, Axel had seen John use his wolf form. Knowing Axel's strength, he wasn't afraid of getting hurt. Unless Axel used his special ability, he couldn't compete with John. The power of an Alpha shapeshifter should never be underestimated.

When John found out about Axel's special ability, he became jealous. In order to teach Axel how to fight, he forbade him from using his abilities during training. He did this because he wanted Axel to be skilled in all areas.

It was impossible to hurt Axel. Axel was like a one man army. He had taught Axel every technique he had learned from the tribe. Axel had started to use his special ability better thanks to John. Of all the weapons Axel had learned, his favorite was the axe.

Carrying an axe in everyday life was easier than carrying other weapons. Axel could make up an excuse to use the axe to chop wood.

"He kicks ass even when he's not in wolf form. When he uses his real power, I leave it to your imagination what he can do." Axel praised John to boost his morale.

As Axel spoke, a smile appeared on John's face. He looked at Felix with teasing eyes.

Felix and Maxwell watched John with curious eyes. They were curious to know John's true power. Although John occasionally roamed in his wolf form, he only did so during full moons.

As John enjoyed his wine, his thoughts turned to what had happened that morning. Although they didn't ask any questions, their curiosity was obvious. He knew he had to tell them. He didn't think it was right to keep anything from them.

"There are things I need to tell you," John said calmly as he looked into the flickering fire.

"You don't have to, John," Axel didn't want to push him.

"I have to tell you," John took a deep breath and continued. "I used to be the Alpha of a pack. After some events I was expelled from it." John was silent for a moment. He did not regret those days. He was sure he would make the same choices again if he had to.

"My wife, Evelyn. She was my girlfriend at the time. Someone from the pack molested her and he knew she was my girlfriend." John became angry again as he remembered the man.

Axel was angry too, but he didn't show it. Maxwell clenched his fists. Even though Felix wasn't one to pick fights, he wanted to kill this man now.

John noticed that the vampires in front of him were getting angry. "Stay calm, I dealt with this guy appropriately."

"Did they really expel you for that?" Axel was astonished. The reactions of the others weren't much different from Axel's.

"None of that matters to me. If those things hadn't happened, I wouldn't have met you guys," John truly believed that everything in life happened for a reason.

"My last name used to be Black, but after I was expelled, I started using Evelyn's last name. So now you all have Evelyn's last name. In a way, you're considered her sons. The Blackwood family." He was certain that Evelyn would love these boys.

John revealed his past and present beliefs: "What I've been through has shaped me and helped me better understand what I need to do in life. Being with all of you makes me feel like I've found a family."

"Being with you makes us feel the same way. Anytime, anywhere, we'll be by your side," Axel replied with deep respect for John's words.

Maxwell added solemnly, "Yes, we're with you. You can count on us whenever there's a problem." Felix quietly agreed, "Right, John. We'll always support you."

After a while, they all went to their rooms. Axel sat in the chair in his room, lost in thought. John had been wronged, but he never gave up.

_____________ 10 hours later _____________

After sitting in the chair for a long time, Axel took a shower and changed into clean clothes. A new day had begun.

He walked quickly down the wooden stairs.

Felix was sitting in a corner painting. He usually listened to music while he painted, but John wouldn't let him because he didn't like the music.

Maxwell and John watched TV. They listened to the morning news. Sometimes they talked about politics and business.

When they heard voices from outside, they knew someone had come. The person who came was John's friend.

Henry started knocking on the door.

John put his coffee cup on the table and got up to open the door. He walked over with heavy steps and opened the door.

"Damn, my friend, the season changed before you could open the door. You walk slower than my grandmother," Henry joked, a Remington shotgun slung across his back.

"Welcome, Henry," John greeted his close friend with a smile.

As Henry entered, he removed the shotgun from his back and the hat from his head and set them on the table.

As John drank his coffee, Henry looked over at Axel, Felix and Maxwell.

"I didn't know your boys were here. When were you going to tell me they were here?" Henry looked at John suspiciously.

Henry and John had been friends for a long time. They were almost like brothers. John had met Henry shortly after he had started living with Axel.

"I was just about to call you, Henry," John lied.

Henry looked at John skeptically. He didn't believe what John said. "Anyway, I have a proposition for you. Why don't we go hunting instead of sitting here?"

"That's a great idea, Henry. When do we go?" John waited for Henry's answer as he sipped his coffee.

"How about we go now?"

"Why are you in such a hurry? I've got my shotgun, but the boys haven't," John hadn't wanted to bother getting the shotgun.

"Your boys don't know the traditions. Come on, let's go. I'll see about getting them rifles." Henry had four other rifles in his house.
