Days passed, and the Duke family mansion was in the worst state it had ever seen since its founding. Anger, sadness, despair. All emotions swirled like a storm. Their industry had collapsed. Their power and connections were stripped away as easily as they were once given.

A massive family, deeply tied to power and the military, was being erased with terrifying speed. Their foundations had crumbled. Their merits, wiped from record.

For the once-proud Duke family,the Duke family of the Federation ,..they were nothing more than a disposable chess piece. A mere pawn in a grander plan.

And now, in a luxury inn reserved for the elite, two individuals discussed their crumbling legacy.

"Theron, you didn't tell me about this! What's happening? Why did you make the world abandon us?" Flora's voice trembled as she confronted Theron. "Debts are piling up from who knows where. No one stands by us. We've been discarded. No one wants to associate with us,no business, no income. I can barely afford my upkeep…"

Across from her, Theron lounged on a couch, calmly enjoying the fruit platter as his eyes lingered admiringly on Flora's figure.

"You really do have a dangerously sexy body," Theron said with a smirk.

"Wait, what? Theron, I'm being serious! My family is crumbling, and I don't know what to do. Why, Theron?" Flora's voice cracked with emotion.

Theron stood and slowly walked up to her.

"I know Caius visited you. I'm not exactly thrilled about that," he said calmly.

"No, no, I promise you nothing happened! He just...." Flora began, trying to explain.

"It's not necessary." Theron waved it off. "This is all just a test of Some sorts. If your family clears this, I'll call it off. You'll return to your position maybe even rise higher. That, I can promise you."

"And if we don't?" Flora asked, still shaken.

"Then the Duke family will only exist in history books."

Flora felt faint. Her heart thudded.

"What about me… about us?" she asked softly.

Theron chuckled. "What we have is just a pleasurable arrangement, okay? But you are important to me. Don't worry,I won't destroy your family." He brushed her hair gently behind her ear.

"Theron… you're sure?" Flora asked, confused and torn.

Theron gazed into her eyes.

"I love you."

Flora couldn't hold back. She kissed him through tears.

"I love you too," she whispered, hugging him tightly.

"Sigh… coercing pawns is so exhausting," Theron thought.

"But… it's always fun watching them crumble," he added, a smile tugging at his lips.

Meanwhile, aboard A spaceship…

Caius and his cousin-bodyguard Mai were en route to his mother's family estate. A family so powerful, they had nearly wiped out an elite assassination organization leaving only its leader and a few survivors.

What kind of family was this?

Caius was curious. But more than that, he had questions.

"Do you know how my mother was… back when she was with her family?" Caius asked.

Mai smiled, memories flooding back.

"Ah, Aunty… she was just like a teenage girl. Fun, curious, and full of life. She knew how to talk to people, how to bring out the best in them. She never lingered on the negative, always focused on the positive. She was like the embodiment of coolness, kindness, and positive vibes... but good things never last. I never thought that applied to people too," Mai sighed.

Caius smiled faintly.

"I see. Thanks for telling me. Seems she was a great daughter to your family… too bad she never got the chance to be a great mother," he said softly.

Mai walked over and hugged him.

For any normal person, these words would stir sorrow, maybe a sense of loss. But Caius felt nothing.

The Dreadborne Organization had changed him irreversibly.

At a familiar house....

It had been three days since Dared began entering Azerak's realm. In that short time, everything had changed.

First, his cultivation had advanced. He was now at the High Planetary Realm. Within two weeks, he would reach the peak. And in a year, perhaps the Galaxy Realm. It was a rapid rise.

"Massive improvement. Your bloodline is high quality," Azerak noted.

"Yes… it is," Dared replied with a proud smile.

"But is that enough?" Azerak asked. "You can't rely on personal power alone. The royal family isn't something you can shake alone. At the very least, you must survive attacks from Caius and his siblings."

"What if I destroy the royal family?" Dared asked coldly.

"Hahaha! What? Destroy the ,hahahaha!" Azerak burst out laughing.

Dared sighed.

"You think I can't?"

"Surviving them is far-fetched enough," Azerak said, still laughing.

"We'll see," Dared muttered, eyes gleaming with murderous intent.

Azerak was right. He needed more than strength,he needed an army.

"It's time I took a little trip," Dared thought, stepping through the door.

At the royal estate…

An unexpected and uninvited guest had arrived.

"Miss, the Crown Prince isn't here right now. If you could wait a while, we...." a guard began politely.

"I'm not here for the Crown Prince," Liya interrupted. "I'm here for the Eldest Prince , Caius."

The guards exchanged uneasy glances.

"We're sorry, Miss Liya. The Eldest Prince left two days ago," one finally said.

Liya frowned.

"Did he say where he was going? Leave any message?"

"No… though he did speak briefly with his female head guard," one guard added, noting how the air chilled suddenly but was then dismissed.

"Wife-to-be… I'm glad I caught you."

A new voice interrupted the scene. All eyes turned.

Theron stood there with his usual calm, defiant smile.

"Cancelled," Liya said coldly, disgust on her face.

"Is that how a betrothed wife behaves?" Theron asked casually.

"Last I checked… you used to call me senior sister," Liya replied with a slight smile.

"Oh, I did. It's a dream come true marrying an older woman," Theron grinned.

"Even if that woman was your brother's childhood love? His supposed betrothed?" Liya asked sharply.

"Ex-betrothed," Theron said, unfazed.
