Abyss Saga

Chapter 6: A Birth from the Ruins

After the devastation left by the last battle, Raen stood amidst the ruins of the village, his breath rising in the cold air, his eyes gleaming with a dark, ominous glow. The Black Butterfly, the spirit insect that had taken residence within him, was growing—its wings expanding, radiating a sinister energy that sent shivers down the spines of anyone who dared approach.

He hadn't realized that this moment would mark a turning point. His body ached with exhaustion, yet the power within him continued to surge, as if it did not belong to him but to something else—something ancient, something as dark as eternity itself.

"It has truly begun..." he muttered under his breath, feeling a strange pulse within his chest, an echo that resonated through his being, planting within him the certainty that the world itself was nothing more than a stage for an unchangeable fate.

There was no time to think. His thoughts were interrupted by a rough voice behind him. Turning, he found one of the organization's members—a man cloaked in black, his eyes gleaming like onyx.

"Raen Earthon, you've caused quite the disturbance," the man said in a steady tone, laced with an unspoken threat.

Raen slowly tilted his head, as if indifferent to his presence, then spoke in a voice devoid of emotion. "Are you here to make me another offer? Or have you come to die?"

The man chuckled lowly. "You are talented, but you fail to understand the true nature of this world. Power alone is not everything."

In an instant, Raen was in front of him. The man hadn't even seen him move. Raen grabbed him by the throat, lifting him into the air, his fingers tightening with an unrelenting grip.

"And you fail to understand that I no longer care about anything." His voice was empty, as if speaking to something that did not exist.

The man gasped, struggling to break free, but in mere moments, his body was consumed from within by black energy, reduced to nothing but ashes that scattered with the wind.

Raen stood in silence, looking down at his hands, feeling the power growing within him, realizing that the world would never be able to stop him. The organization, the kingdoms, even the gods themselves—all would become relics of the past.

He closed his eyes, listening to the voice of the Black Butterfly within his soul.

"You are heading in the right direction... but the journey has yet to begin."

Raen opened his eyes, a cold smirk forming on his lips.

"Then let's continue the game."

He did not yet know that the organization would not leave him be.

Far from the ruins of the village, in a dark palace nestled within the mountains, an elderly man sat on a stone throne, his eyes radiating a sinister energy. Before him, a group of figures knelt.

"He has begun to emerge," the man said in a raspy voice.

One of the kneeling figures lifted his head, revealing a face covered in scars. "Shall we act now?"

The old man closed his eyes for a moment before speaking. "Not yet. Let him grow stronger. When he reaches his peak... then we will crush him completely."

At that moment, Raen had already embarked on his new path. He had nothing left to lose. His village was gone, and all that remained of his past were burnt memories.

And deep inside, he knew that the future would be filled with destruction and chaos... just as he wanted.
