Chapter 46: CHAPTER 46 – A SILENT DAY WITH FIONA

*Note: Another chapter more for this fic. Today I went to the doctor who gaves me a medicine. I feel sick since August so I couldn't write a lot of time.

Tomorrow I'll go to another doctor in case I have another thing so wish me good luck.

Have a good day and leave me a review :)

...

Breakfast was no better than dinner the day before, for some reason unknown to me, my father was not very talkative and I was not willing to talk to him too much. But I must admit that it was strange. Previously he had already behaved somewhat surly and quite reluctant to come to this island, but as the days went by, it became worse. The first two days he seemed quite excited because he had found species of birds that where we lived could not be found due to the weather and other factors that I do not know. However, since that gentleman came with his "more advanced" equipment, my father's mood got worse and worse.

"Dad. Are you sure you go to the beach every day to watch birds?" – I asked curiously.

I suspected that he had stopped going and stayed here every day drinking non-stop, which, by the way, my mother would not like at all.

"Every day without exception. Although I admit that some days I return earlier than others. That's why I'm always here when you come back" – my father said.

"Although I'm glad that one of us has a good time. What a disgusting island" – his father thought inside.

"It's okay. I'll believe you. By the way, what do you intend to do today?" – I asked.

"The same as always" - he said.

Wow, today he was quite ... unpleasant. He even speaks in an unpleasant tone. As if this conversation was bothering him.

"Well, it's clear that you don't feel like talking about anything. I've met my friends, so I'm leaving" – I said.

I hadn't finished my breakfast, but I don't want a person who's in a bad mood because he's not able to overcome some of their insecurities to make my day bitter. Today I have a nice day ahead of me, I'm sure.

"Goodbye" – he said.

He didn't seem to care too much about my rude gesture (despite doing it on purpose to get him to react), so I got up and left the hotel without looking back.

"Seriously. I'm worried about him, but I have no idea how to help him" – I said as I headed towards the loop.

It was completely clear to me that my father was lying to me, or at least he was trying to. As a former businessman, I know how to detect lies better than a lie detector. Normally, most of the entrepreneurs I "faced" in my past life constantly lied in order to sell their products. Products whose quality was bad and that they withdrew from the market shortly after; that is, signing a contract with them, became without hesitation a huge loss of money and even bankruptcy. I must confess that I was deceived a few times. But I ended up learning to detect liars and now I am better than anyone else at detecting if someone is lying or telling the truth and my father had not said anything true.

"Since nothing he has said is true, it can only mean one thing: Actually, he has given up and stays all day at the bar or only goes to the beach once in a while to see if the man is still there. If he sees him, he goes back to the bar. If he doesn't see it, he stays. That's my suspicion and I think the reality of the situation" – I said.

I guess that's what it does. I repeat, it's an assumption and I have no idea. The only thing I'm sure of is that he lies like a scoundrel. I have no doubt about that.

Anyway. As I thought about my father and his lies, I came across the loop and went through it without realizing it.

Normally on the other side I was always greeted by either Olive or Emma, but today there was a different person, it was Fiona. Fiona's appearance I mentioned earlier, but that was only when I looked at her briefly. Now that I have her in front of me, her beauty stood out even more. It was just glowing.

"Good morning, Fiona. Did you have to come and look for me today?" – I asked.

Fiona is not a very talkative girl. She is one of those girls who prefer silence and does not talk too much. A quiet and simple but beautiful girl.

"Actually... the others are busy, so... you'll have to spend the day with me... if it's not too much trouble..." – he said calmly.

She spoke slowly, calmly, as if nothing could disturb her. In a way, her voice was soothing.

"Of course it's not much of a hassle. In fact, I should thank you" – I said.

"Thank you... why?" - she asked.

"Spending a day with a beautiful girl like you is a privilege" – I smiled.

I don't know how to flirt and surely this phrase is outdated. But by that time probably maybe not.

Hearing that, Fiona blushed quite a bit and lowered her little head very embarrassedly.

"T-Thank you for the compliment..." – she said.

But inside she was extremely embarrassed. Her heart was beating fast, her hands were sweating, and she was extremely nervous. But it wasn't all bad because she also felt joy. Joy that Jacob really thought she was beautiful. Something she only heard from the girls on a few occasions. As a child, when she demonstrated her power, the most beautiful thing they said to her was: "Witch". When Miss Peregrine saved her, she had received praise from all the girls, including Miss Peregrine, but no boy ever paid her a compliment. Of course she knew that Millard and the others considered her family, that was a fact, but they had never called her beautiful or anything like that, it was her first time.

"You're welcome. I just told the truth" – I said with a smile.

After waiting a few seconds, Fiona sighed and managed to calm down.

"Do you have anything ready or shall we take a walk around town to see if we can think of something?" – I asked.

There is little to do on this site. Since the same day is repeated over and over again, nothing out of the ordinary ever happens. Everything is always the same because it is always repeated.

"No... I have something I'd like to show you... follow me" – she said.

Then, she stood next to me and urged me to follow her and that's exactly what I did.

Where did we go? The answer to that question is easy. Do you remember the forest where Emma took me yesterday? Well, we went to exactly the same forest.

"Isn't this the forest where Emma took me yesterday?" – I asked curiously.

But it was a silly question. How was she to know if it was the same forest?

"Yes... this is where Emma's favorite place is... but we are not going there" – Fiona nodded.

It seems that Emma's favorite place was no secret, at least to Fiona.

"Where are we going, then?" – I asked again.

"I better show you... if I tell you... it wouldn't be interesting" – she said.

I nodded and we continued walking. The difference with yesterday is that, at a certain point of the walk, we took a detour along another path and went deeper into the forest. Now I was curious about where we were going to go. But the most important thing now was not where we were going to go, but the atmosphere that was being created between the two of us. We both walked calmly, shoulder to shoulder and our hands bumped from time to time, something that didn't seem to matter to Fiona.

At first they were only shocks caused by the movements when walking, but soon, we decided to hold hands. Her soft hands grabbed mine and we began to walk holding hands. Fiona seemed to be aware of this fact as she was the one who took the initiative. Besides, even if she tried, she could not hide her blush. On the other hand, I wasn't much better. Although you didn't believe it, it's the first time I've held a girl's hand like this. Yes, in my previous life I had several wives and, obviously, I was not a virgin. But the flirtation of those girls were false. Holding hands was only a means to get her whims. The love they claimed to have for me was false, it was not love, but interest. This is the first time I've walked holding the hand of a girl who has no interest in my money or power.

We continued walking hand in hand, both aware of that fact and somewhat nervous and embarrassed. But none of them said anything and we even intertwined our hands even more to prevent them from letting go. But everything in life comes to an end and whether unfortunately or thank God, we reach our destination.

"Here it is" – Fiona said.

I looked in front of me and what I saw... Well, we can say that I was somewhat surprised. What I saw in front of me was a small greenhouse. Anyone who heard me would say: It's just a greenhouse. What's wrong with it? It's not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just that it seems to be in ruins. The roof was barely maintained and it is not that there was a door precisely. In fact, it seemed to be torn away by something or someone.

"This is..." – I said while looking at him curiously.

"My secret place. I found it while walking in the woods one day. I think it was more than 40 years ago..." – Fiona said.

Fuck, more than 40 years. The same age (more or less) that I had in my past life.

"It's a greenhouse, but it's a little..." – I said, looking at it more closely.

"Almost in ruins. I know... I would have tried to rebuild it. But since the day restarts it would be useless" – Fiona said as she walked towards a large hole.

I see. Since the day restarted every day; it didn't matter if you fixed it or not, because after restarting it would be in this disastrous state again.

"But, even if I can't fix it, I come here from time to time and grow some pretty flowers. It relaxes me to be among plants. They are quiet and calm and I feel comfortable next to them..." – Fiona said.

[Its peculiarity makes it very fond of plants. It's natural for her to feel that way]
