A Kitsune in remnant

Chapter 33: Mesure none, cut everything once

The cleaver soon landed in between me, and I felt myself being cut in half. It was like feeling everything being pulled in two directions, only that it was possible to be split in half.

"Hmm, little to no resistance, you have a long way to go brat." Was all he said before tossing the large sword behind him.

"What we're going to focus on, is stamina, just like before, but you will be swinging this." He said and handed me a wooden sword.

"I want you to swing these eight hundred times, and no need to count out loud, I'll keep track." After grabbing the wooden sword, I began to swing it at an overhead.

The first two hundred times were easy, since I didn't struggle. Soon the pain slowly began to seep into my arms, it felt slow at first.

Like needles slowly being pushed into my skin, but I kept swinging the sword. Reaching four hundred swings, my arms were now aching.

My arms were staring to shake, but I ignored it and continued to swing. Seeing me ignore the shaking, both my mother and grandfather nodded in approval.

Once reaching six hundred swings, I could feel the sword growing heavier. It was harder to raise it, but when I lowered it, I could feel it move faster.

"Starting to get tired?" Asked my grandfather, I only ignore him and continued to swing the sword.

Seven hundred swings later, sweat began to pour from my brow, my arms were now in pain, but I didn't stop.

Seven hundred and eighty swings, I wanted to stop. I wanted to drop the sword, but I didn't stop. Raising it was much more difficult, it felt like I was lifting more than three tons.

'I swear, if this wasn't a mind scape I would have dropped dead from exhaustion.' I cursed while reaching the eight hundred mark.

I kept swinging as much as I could, forcing my arms to keep swinging. I don't know how long time had passed, but I didn't stop.

I was close to reaching the eight hundred mark, raising the sword was harder than before. It felt like I was grabbing only the edge of a metal table and lifting it only by the leg.

I raised the wooden sword for the final time and swung down with all my might. As I did so, I slipped and fell onto the floor.

Before I landed on the floor, I felt a pair of arms wrapping around me. Looking up, it was my grandfather who grinned and patted my head.

"Not bad brat, you can take a break, besides, you're waking up." Was all he said before I felt myself falling.

I then woke up with a jolt when I felt something cold hit me, looking at my clothes, I could see it was water.

"Wakey wakey kid." Looking up, I saw a man in front of me, and around me were the bars to a cage.

'Oh great, I would say Deja vu, but it's too early for that.' I thought, while waking up, I wanted to remove the restraints on my arms.

But seeing that there where people in front of me, I had to act like the defenseless child in front of them.

"W-why are you doing this?" I then began to make crocodile tears, which was enough for the man to smile.

"Well kid, there's a thing called business, and someone hired us to capture you." He said, he then made his way to another cage, knocking the top.

"And these three are just bonuses, if the man who hired us decides to pay us a little extra." Looking inside, I could see Harriet, Elm, and Weiss.

"Let them go, it's me you want, right?" I pleaded, while still shedding more crocodile tears.

"Sorry kid, but it's nothing personal. Oh, and before I forget" He then pulled out a gun and shot me in the shoulder.

I had to scream in pain after the shot, and began to sob, this made the man smile seeing me in pain.

"This is a warning to not do anything stupid." He said and soon began to walk away, once he left, I wiped my face and began to heal the gunshot wound.

"Huh, guess the beatings I get was useful after all." I then began to look around, trying to see what else is around.

If there's one thing, I'm grateful about being a Fanus, is that we have night vision, so I didn't need to use a flashlight.

Around me, I could see other cages. They were filled with men, women, and children. What's worse, some had humans, while others had Faunus.

"I'm in a slave traffic ring." I muttered, once I realized on where I was, I made my way towards the other cage.

"You guys, wake up!" I whispered loudly, Weiss was the first to wake up, she looked around, confused at first.

"W-where am I? Mother, mother I'm scared." She whimpered, not noticing me.

"Weiss, over here." I whispered, this time she turned to where I was, and her eyes widened.

"Aiko, you're here to?" I placed my finger on my lip, telling her to be quiet.

"Look, we're not in the best position at the moment, so let me think. Try to wake up Elm and Harriet." As she did what I told her to do, I began to look for the lock.

Once I found it, I placed my palm above the hole, and slowly pushed my flames inside. Slowly picking the metal pins in place.

But I ended up burning the entire lock thoroughly, I could only stare at the now melted lock with wide eyes and looked at my palm.

'We are going to have to return to teaching you on how to wield your flames.' I heard my mother speak.

I couldn't come up with a reply, I just opened the door and made my way to the other cage. Once arriving in front of the girls, Harriet scowled and looked pissed.

"How did you get out so quickly?" She hissed, I only pointed at the lock on the cage I was in, and she saw the melted lock.

"I've learned in the last couple of days to not question anything, but I'm too damn curious on how." I only placed my hand and began to melt the lock.

But before I could make it through, the door began to open. So I quickly ran back to my cage and quietly closed it, while also using a quick illusion to make the lock look normal.

"Yes, you heard me, triple the pay and you get the girl." Entering was a different man, who I assumed was the boss, since he was trying to gain more money.

"That's right, you pay us ten million lien, and the girl is back in your home, simple as that." I was able to hear a muffle scream of curses, I assumed it was Weiss's father.

"Alright then, we have a deal, just meet us at the location we'll send you in five hours." He then hung up the call and turned towards Weiss.

"Looks like daddy's coming for his princess, but don't worry, I'm going to have myself some fun." He said while licking his lips.

'Fuck going quiet, time to kick ass and chew gum, and I'm all out of gum.' I thought while dropping my disguise.

Was it stupid for me to do so?

Yes.

Was I going to let this man have his way with a child?

Fuck, no.

So the only sensible thing I did was summon my grandfather, he pierced the top of the cage with his sword and began to carve a hole.

The man who was struggling to open the lock, stopped and looked behind him. Seeing my grandfather with the sword in his hand.

"It's best if you don't have this." He swung down fast, causing the man to cover himself in defense.

But after a few quick swings, he lowers his hand and saw my grandfather with the sword lowered.

"You…. You missed." He said with a laugh, but my grandfather just raised his hand and snapped his finger.

Instantly, something fell onto the group with a plop, the man paled in fear and slowly looked down.

On the floor, you could already tell what it was. Blood began to stain his pants, and he screamed, the pain rushing at him with full force.

"Fuuuuuu-." Before he could say anything, he stayed silent, the man raised one of his hands and felt something was missing.

His lower jaw, including his tongue, was missing. He then ran towards the door with fear in his eyes, I only returned to the others and melted the rest of the lock, letting the three girls out.

"Aiko, you better explain yourself now." Before I could say anything to Harriet, the sound of gunshots was heard.

Both Harriet and Elm rushed to protect me and Weiss from the gunfire, they tensed, waiting for the pain to come.

But the sound of metal bouncing off caused them to open their eyes and look behind them.

In front of them was my grandfather, he stood facing towards the shooters with a calm look. The sword he wielded was planted into the ground, and his hands rested on the guard.

As the bullets were close to hitting him, they instantly changed direction away from him. Like an invisible barrier was in front of him, causing them to bounce to the side.

But I could see it, the immense speed he was displaying, the sword was imbedded into the ground, but he would instantly pull it out to direct the shots away.

"H-how is he doing that?!" Shouted one of the humans, one of them folded their mechashift weapon away, and decided to run in head first.

He held a spear in his hand and spun it a few times in the air, creating a small gust of wind. He then swung the spear sending the small cyclone of wind towards us.

Seeing this, my grandfather just snorted in disappointment and heaved his longsword above him.

"This is a cyclone!" He gripped the handle with both hands and extended the width of his blade.

As he began to wind back, I widened my eyes and created a large wall of flame. I made sure to make it solid to block what was about to happen.

"Kurosaki eighth final technique, howl of Fenrir!" He swung his sword forward, and a wolf's howl was heard.

The wind itself began to push the humans back, pining them against the wall. I could feel the pressure of the wind rattling the wall I made, wanting to break.

On the other side, the humans who were pinned were slowly having their skin pealed off.

The metal itself was also gaining scratches full of claw marks, each new mark growing deeper and deeper.

The wall itself soon gave away, pushing and clawing at the next wall. The people behind it were pinned along with the first group, and the process began to start again.

The skin, the walls, even the furniture began to be torn to shreds. After bursting through a few more walls, the cyclone itself burst outside.

The howling began to fade into the cold night, I soon dropped the wall and widened my eye at the distraction he caused.

All from a simple swing, nothing remained, no pieces of meat, no walls stood, only the long made hallway that he made, all with a swing of a sword.

"This is the power you will learn when the time is right." He said and soon flickered away.

As I stood there, I felt myself being forced to turn around, and an angry Harriet looked at me.

"What, the fuck, are you?" Before I could say anything, I was tackled by Weiss, who began to touch my tails and ears.

"You look so pretty." She said with a flushed look, I was glad she was distracted by this. And not focusing on the distraction that my grandfather did.

But I had to change into my 'normal' form, but we had another problem at the moment. Not only were we lost, but we also didn't have any means to walk across the winter planes.

"How do we get back? And how do we bring the rest of the Faunus with us?" Weiss asked me, Harriet and Elm hummed in thought.

"For now, let's just scavenge what we can find, Aiko, you free the rest of the people here. We'll try to contact the general." I began to melt each lock with ease, letting the people come out.

Every person that came out, they were thin and malnourished. Men, women, and even children were all here, covered in wounds and afraid.

The men were in front of the women, while the women protected the children. One of the braver men soon approached me, kneeling before me.

"Thank you, thank you for saving us." The rest of the people began to follow, thanking me, weeping in happiness.

I only smiled at their words and gently knelt down, lifting him up. I smiled and gently extended my flames, wrapping around him.

He was soon healed, all bruises and cuts disappeared, causing him to land on his knees once again.

"It's alright, I'm just doing the right thing," I said and began to heal the rest, planting the seed to grow an army to fight against the world.
