A Kitsune in remnant

Chapter 28: Thoughts of the Princess

3 DAY TIMESKIP POV ???

After a tiresome day with studies, sparring practice, and dealing with father, I had the chance to finally rest in my room.

While walking to my room, I passed by my mothers room, the smell of alcohols was slowly flowing out of the creases of the door.

I moved away from it, but I could hear the sound of sobbing. I was irritated at her, for not only leaving us, but for her to think that drinking was a way of forgetting the pain she is causing us.

Before I could get far, our butler, who I see as my father than my actual father, appeared before me.

"Good evening little snowflake, how was your studies?" Asked Klein, seeing him lifted my spirits just a little bit, but it turned sour when I saw my younger brother.

"It was fine, I was able to finish them for the day." I said while ignoring Whitley, but he only wore a calm smile on his face.

"Dear sister, am I not going to receive a greeting?" I only sighed in irritation, but I looked at him.

"It's nice to see you, brother." I forced a smile on my face and felt disgusted, since he mostly tries to impress father by being a 'good boy'.

"It's nice to see you as well, sister." Feeling the tension between the two of us, Klein sneezed, causing his eyes to change from brown to yellow.

"Now, now you two, the both of you still have things to do. Run along Whitley, I'll bring you your drink later." Whitley only glanced at Klein for only a second but soon walked by me.

"Father had called you to his office, don't make him wait long." He whispered to me, as he rounded the corner, I just sighed and looked tired.

"Oh, let us hurry, you know how mad your father is when you are late." Klein ushered me to fathers office, and I stood there alone.

"Good luck my little snowflake." He whispered, and soon left me alone in front of the door.

I took a breath to compose myself, and soon rapped my knuckle against the door. Not even a few seconds, and I could already hear my father.

"Come in." After receiving permission to enter, I slowly gripped the handle, and quietly entered.

"Ah, Weiss. Close the door, I have something important to tell you." He said while admiring the portrait of him hanging on the wall.

I did as I was told and soon sat on one of the chairs he has in his office, gaining a nod of approval.

"Good, now onto business." He then sat on his office chair and turned on his computer, turning the screen towards me.

Looking at the monitor, he showed me two kids, one boy, and one girl. They looked like twins, since both have black hair, and amber eyes.

"These two children, are named Aiko, and Blake Belladonna, children to the leader of Ghira Belladonna." He said with venom, while looking at the two of them with disgust.

"I've invited them to tonight's event, I want you to convince them that we are treating their 'people' with care." He continued while placing the monitor in its original position.

"Of course father, is there anything else you wish for me to do?" After hearing my question, he hummed in thought.

"No, not yet, but if anything comes to mind, I will let you know, you are dismissed." I only bowed my head and left as quickly as I could.

"Remember Weiss, for the SDC." I heard my father said before closing the door, I only shivered once the door was closed and began to walk to my room.

As I passed by multiple Faunus servants, they all stood close to the walls, avoiding me. Even with them roaming the halls, it was cold, tensions were high, and they all glared at me with hate.

I couldn't blame them, since my father would always abuse them when ever he was furious. I was used to their glared, used to their hatred, I was numb to what they did.

(A/N: Before you all ask, they were still here before the change in leadership for the white fang.)

Once arriving to my room, I made sure to lock the door to my room and sat on my bed. Wondering what I have to say to the two children I saw.

When I saw the picture of the two of them, I saw them smiling, with no look of pain, or stress.

They had something I wanted, they have a family, one that is whole. They don't have a father, who hates an entire race, they don't have a mother, who drinks her pain away.

They don't have a sibling who left them to deal with a broken home. I wanted to hate them for that, I want a family like that.

But I can't hate someone that isn't in their control, it would be unjust, even for me. But it wasn't fair.

I wanted a family, where we can be happy, where we can enjoy happy times. But not everyone can get what they want, so all I can do is pretend to the people outside that we are happy.

A broken family built on lies, what a funny joke. A knock at the door was soon heard, and a Faunus servant entered.

"Miss Schnee, your father has prepared your dress for the celebration." She said and another two servants pulled a dress.

Looking at the dress, it was a simple white dress reaching to my legs. In the second servants hands, it was a small sweater that was white, while the back had the family symbol.

I only nodded my head at the choice they made, they then guided me to my stand and began to prepare me for the celebration for tonight.

As they began to change me, I began to wonder. How are they, will they see me as an enemy, a friend, or a child like them?

I always wanted a real friend, not the ones that my father made me play with. The girls would ignore me, playing with one another, and when they do notice me, they would be blunt.

Always telling me that their mommy, or daddy made them play with me. I just scoffed at their words, but it didn't make me feel any better.

I was just a tool, the three of us were. But my eldest sister was lucky, by the time she was old enough, she took the chance to escape this place called home.

Leaving me and my brother, we were close when we were younger, but now, now we barely see one another.

I wanted to hate her for leaving us, leaving me, but I couldn't. She took the chance to escape, but made sure to visit us.

However, it was strained.

Each time she came to visit, it was difficult to talk to her. She was different, she was more strict, uptight, and cold.

I didn't like this new version of her, the same could be said for my brother. All he ever does is try to follow fathers orders, telling me to just be obedient.

Thinking about all of the past my family has done has made the room tense, the servants were trembling and scared.

"Tell me, who are the two in the picture?" I asked one of the servants, the tension dropped a little, and one of them smiled.

"They are the children of the white fang leader, Blake and Aiko Belladonna." I hummed at the names of the two, especially Aiko.

Looking at the picture, they were twins, only one was female, and the other male. I was more curious about Aiko, something about him was a lie.

Yet I couldn't tell what it was, all I knew is that I have to meet him in person to see. I decided to continue to ask questions about them.

"Why were they invited?" Another servant perked up at my question, but frowned.

"Your father wishes to clear the rumors about Faunus being used as slaves." I could hear the anger in her voice, but I didn't bother trying to pry more information.

"What are they like?" This time, they all froze and avoided my gaze, I wanted to slap myself for asking that, since none of them are allowed to communicate with the outside.

"It's alright ladies, I can take it from here." Said a familiar voice, looking at the door, was Klein, and in his hands was a tray.

On it, was a hairbrush, some powdered makeup, and a hot coco.

Hearing Klein dismiss them, they all rose and bowed, quickly scurrying away. Klein just sighed and soon placed the tray to the side.

"Well, they might not know a thing, but I do." He said with a smile on his face, while gently passing the cup into my hand.

Once I held the cup, I began to blow on it to not burn myself. Klein then grabbed the hairbrush, gently brushing my hair.

"I heard rumors about the two, the girl is mostly reserved, not saying a single word, but once she speaks, you can only hear her mumbling." I hummed at Klein's words, not hoping much from her.

"And what about Aiko?" Klein then sneezed, and his eyes changed from brown to yellow.

"Ah, the boy himself, he is too kind for this world. He greets anyone with a confident smile, while also acting as a speaker for the little girl." He said with a smile on his face.

This made me confused, one was shy, barely muttered words. While the other was more confident, able to socialize with ease.

"I guess you can say they are the same side of a coin?" I asked, Klein nodded at my question and soon began to braid my hair.

"That would be the best analogy, since they seem to stick together all the time." He then pulled a mirror in front of me, letting me see the hair he braided.

"How does it look?" I began to observe the style he chose, I saw that he braided my hair to have a bun on the side, while the rest of the hair was tied into one tail.

"I like it." I said with a smile, seeing me smile, Klein sneezed and his pupils changed back to his original color.

"I'm pleased to hear that." He then sneezed again, and his pupils changed to red.

"But remember, no funny business young lady." He said with a rough voice, I could only giggle at his change in personalities.

Seeing me giggle, he sneezed one last time. He sighed and soon brought out a small cloth and began to pat his nose.

"There's the snow angle I know." He said with a smile, the mood was ruined when we heard my father shouting.

"Klein?! Is Weiss ready for tonight?!" He then barged into my room and soon saw me dressed up.

"Ahh, wonderful, the proper attire for a Schnee." He said with a smile, seeing him smile just made me sick.

"Now remember, I want you to befriend those 'children', and convince them that the rumors are false, and we are treating them fine." I could only stay silent and bite my lip.

Seeing me nod, he smiled and patted my head, ruining bun that Klein made for my hair.

"Good girl, now I shall be heading off, the guests will be arriving soon." He said and soon left me and Klein alone.

I only sighed in sadness from what happened, but Klein just patted my head and began to fix what my father ruined.

"Well, no time like the present, let's get ready to go. Who knows, maybe they'll be your real friends." I only smiled at his optimism, but I didn't throw out his idea.

'Maybe they can be my friends, that'd be nice.' I thought while preparing myself to meet with the guests.

'I hope you are interesting, Aiko.'

(A/N) Hey, hey, sorry for the late update, I've been reading some good books recently and I've been distracted, so sorry once again.

The next chapter will be ready by Saturday, hope I can focus like I used to, and maybe try to focus on two books.

For now, peace.
