Chapter 94: New House
Oliver had already decided that he and his family would move into the mansion.
He admitted that Rebecca had been right — they needed a safer place to live.
That very same day, Oliver took his mother and younger sister in his car.
It had been far too long since his mother had ridden in a private car, and for his younger sister, this was her very first time.
The young girl was overjoyed. Sitting in the front seat, she kept adjusting the AC temperature and playing with the car's audio system.
Her expression practically said, So this is what it's like to be rich.
From her perspective, owning a nice private car and being able to travel comfortably already counted as wealth.
And she wasn't entirely wrong — in the city, car taxes were extremely high. Many people who could afford one still chose not to buy, so in reality, more people didn't own a private car than those who did.
Their mother, sitting alone in the back, couldn't stop smiling, her face full of joy.
She truly looked happy now.
Life as a widow with an illness, raising two children alone, had never been easy.
But now, all those hardships had paid off. Her newly adult son had changed the family's fate to an unimaginable degree.
"Bro, you have to teach me how to drive later. I want to drive by myself," Emma said after she was done fiddling with the AC and audio.
Oliver was a bit stunned by that.
"Nonsense. How old are you? Ten? And you want to drive? You should be riding a bicycle at your age," he replied.
"What's wrong with it? I have classmates who can already drive and sometimes even bring their own cars. Look at me — I'm tall enough. My feet can reach the pedals, and I can see straight ahead clearly."
She did have a well-developed body and was growing quickly. She already seemed to be around 145 cm, which was about the same as many adult women Oliver had seen in Southeast Asia — and she was only ten. She might even reach over 175 cm someday, like Rebecca.
Given the high-quality food she'd been eating lately, she might even hit her peak height earlier than usual.
"This isn't about height," Oliver said.
"Then what? Do you think I don't understand how to drive? I already know how both manual and automatic cars work. I just haven't tried them yet."
The girl seemed far too eager to drive herself, arguing with determination.
Oliver rolled his eyes and replied, "It's not about knowing or not — the point is, you wait until you're seventeen."
"What? I can't wait that long."
"Emma, don't argue. I won't allow it no matter what until you're old enough," Sofia said from the back seat, leaving Emma speechless.
At the moment, Oliver was driving while occasionally glancing at the map on his phone.
He was using it to track the location of the mansion Rebecca had purchased.
It turned out to be in an elite residential complex still located in the city center.
It was similar to his teacher's neighborhood — you had to show ID to enter — but Rebecca had clearly prepared everything. His ID was already registered, and he was allowed in directly.
Once inside, both Sofia and Emma were left speechless. Every single house was a large mansion with two or three floors.
The ones on the right were even more extraordinary, each having a private dock at the back because they stood right by the river.
"Are we going to live here?" Emma could hardly believe her eyes.
Not long after, Oliver saw about ten people gathered in front of one of the mansions on the right — among them, an elderly man who was clearly the head butler, a middle-aged man and a plump middle-aged woman who seemed to be the cook, and several young women in maid uniforms.
They looked like they had been waiting for someone — and Oliver knew it was for him.
In fact, the head butler, Mr. Joe, had already contacted him by message.
He was a former servant in a royal palace and more than qualified to serve elsewhere. Rebecca had chosen him because she wanted Oliver to have the best staff.
Oliver stopped the car in front of them, lowering all the windows.
Seeing the three people inside, the group immediately knew they were the mansion's owners.
"Welcome, Sir, Madam, and Miss…" they greeted in unison, led by Mr. Joe.
Oliver nodded and stepped out of the car, followed by his mother and sister, who couldn't stop staring at the luxurious three-story mansion.
The garage door was open, revealing several different luxury cars inside — and even three large ninja motorbikes.
The back yard was vast, connected to a small dock where a yacht was moored.
Compared to the neighbors' yachts, this one was much larger.
Up on the rooftop, there was even a helicopter parked neatly.
Faced with all this, Oliver honestly found it hard to show an appropriate reaction.
"Mr. Joe, is the house ready to live in?" Oliver asked the head butler.
"Yes, all the facilities are fully prepared. You, your mother, and your sister can move in right away. We will handle all your needs and carry out any requests you may have," Mr. Joe replied.
Oliver nodded.
"Let's go in. Oh, and take my car inside."
"Yes, sir."
Mr. Joe then asked one of the maids to drive the car into the garage.
It seemed all the maids had good driving skills.
Fortunately, the front yard wasn't as large as the back, so it was only a short walk before they entered the luxurious mansion.
It wasn't as big as his teacher's, but not too far off.
"Sir, Madam, Miss — your bedrooms are on the second floor. The third floor contains a gym, an entertainment room, and a private café for you to relax in," Mr. Joe explained while leading them on a tour.
Everything looked far too perfect to be real.
Emma was beyond thrilled with their new home, while Sofia couldn't hold back tears of happiness.
Oliver, of course, felt deeply satisfied seeing the joy on his mother's and sister's faces.
Even if Rebecca hadn't given him all this, he would have found a way to earn enough money to buy it himself.
