A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 9: A Spear

(Master, I've reached the Second Stage. I then went to the Chaotic World and encountered many sunflower monsters. I fought them, then came across a Level 5 Lion, and I killed it. After that, I ran into a river full of anacondas. Many of them were Level 6, so I decided to return to Earth…)

Oliver wrote that message and sent it to Evylin, his teacher.

As a beginner, he still wasn't sure what exactly he should be doing.

That's why he needed guidance from an experienced Cultivator like his teacher.

His message was immediately read by Evylin, and he saw that she started typing a reply.

(Return to the Chaotic World and fight those smaller snakes. As a Cultivator with a Void Body, if you've reached the Second Stage, you're equivalent to a Level 4 Awakener, and your combat power is far above that. You should be fighting Level 8 monsters!)

"What?"

Oliver was stunned when he read her reply.

Right after that, another message popped up from her.

(You're progressing faster than I expected. Wait at your house, I'll send you a spear as a gift. It'll really help you in battle. Two hours after you receive the spear, if you can gather more than ten Level 6 Monster Cores, I'll give you another reward. Even if you want, I can help you sleep with any celebrity or top model you want, but you have to achieve all that!)

Oliver: "..."

At this point, he was starting to understand his teacher's personality.

She did seem to match her tomboyish nature.

But clearly, she seems to care so much about his growth that she made him a promise that would practically boost any man's spirits.

"Oliver, there's a delivery— is that your package?" He heard his mother's voice calling from downstairs after some time.

He quickly went downstairs as soon as he heard it.

His mother was sitting alone in the living room, knitting a Red Devil scarf, a side job she did since her handmade scarves sold for a decent price. However, due to her poor health, it could take her three weeks to finish one scarf.

"Mom!" Oliver greeted her before turning his eyes toward the door.

Of course, the "courier" his mother mentioned wasn't a human. It was a large drone that placed a long box in front of their house.

Oliver immediately picked it up and brought it inside, which piqued his mother's curiosity.

He was actually a bit doubtful that it was really a spear because it was so light. It felt like he was lifting an empty box.

His kitchen knife used for slicing fish might weigh more than this.

Naturally, there was nothing else expected to be delivered to him except what his teacher had promised.

He opened the box, which was as easy as opening a door because it was designed with a lid.

Once opened, he indeed found a spear—shiny black with a length of about two meters.

Its design was elegant, looking more like a hollow fencing rod.

Of course, it was truly a spear, and its tip looked extremely sharp, giving the impression that it could easily pierce through any flesh.

When he held it, Oliver found it to be solid yet incredibly light.

Its weight felt like cotton.

(Spear Tier 1!)

He received a notification from his Observation Ring.

It turned out to be a Tier 1 Weapon—something of very high value, typically used by Awakeners below Level 10.

For Cultivators, a weapon of this tier was highly useful up until the Fifth Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm.

Naturally, its price wasn't cheap, ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 depending on quality.

The reason it was "only" that expensive was because the materials were not that difficult to obtain. However, Tier 2 Weapons were far more expensive since the materials started becoming quite rare.

"Who gave you that spear?" Sofia asked, clearly surprised.

She didn't think Oliver had bought it, as it was impossible for him to have enough money. She didn't even know it was a Tier 1 Weapon.

"My teacher sent it to me— a reward for reaching the Second Stage," Oliver answered, surprising Sofia even more.

"You've already reached the Second Stage?" she said in disbelief, knowing how hard cultivation was.

She herself wasn't completely inexperienced in cultivation. After all, her illness could be cured if she had cultivation.

Unfortunately, she couldn't even reach the First Stage, let alone the Second.

"Hehehe, I just got lucky!" Oliver laughed sheepishly, having made his mother stunned.

"Mom, I'm heading back to my room," he said.

He carried the spear and the box upstairs.

"I can coat it with void particles, making this spear even more terrifying," Oliver said as he realized what he could do with this spear.

Void particles flowed around the spear, entering its inner gaps and coating its entire structure both inside and out.

The spear remained light, but Oliver knew it now held terrifying destructive power on all sides.

"Amazing!" He grew even more confident, feeling certain he could rampage through those anacondas—so long as he didn't dive into the river, where they were much more formidable.

"Let's go back!"

His excitement surged again—especially with the reward his teacher had promised.
