A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 79: Trip

Oliver examined the massive corpse, extending his Void Sense into it to study its structure.

Of course, it was nothing like the body of a human or a lion. This was an entirely different organism, with unique genetics—the result of two different creatures being fused together with perfect precision.

However, there was no way he could learn the method just by studying the corpse.

That method was clearly something special—something he could only obtain from the memories of the corpse itself.

'Maybe I should store this corpse and bring it back to Earth,' he thought.

He then returned to his room and borrowed the Observation Ring from his real body.

It was empty when he took it, as he had transferred all his belongings into his World of Shadows Ring.

And since a corpse was just a corpse, the Observation Ring easily absorbed the huge body, its space large enough to store even a giant's remains.

"One should be enough," he thought, tossing the Observation Ring into his portal to send it back to his real body.

At that moment, his real body was sitting on the bed, peering into the Observation Ring.

After a moment of thought, he called Rebecca again.

As before, she picked up quickly.

"Oliver, do you need something?" her gentle voice asked, sounding curious as to why he was calling her again.

"I want to ask… I have a corpse that might know a method I need for my training. Is there a way to obtain that method from the corpse?" Oliver replied.

"Ohh, you know, the dead can't speak—that's why the best way to shut someone's mouth is to kill them. While some people can raise the dead, like your girlfriend the Necromancer, that only turns the corpse into a new type of creature with no connection to its past life. Once turned into an undead, the body even loses its brain, so there's no way to recover past memories," Rebecca said, sounding as if she wanted to laugh at how absurd his request was.

"Maybe someone could still do it. That's why I'm asking you," Oliver said, his tone a little displeased.

If Ivy's ability could help, he would've asked her already.

Unfortunately, turning a corpse into an undead didn't allow a Necromancer to access its memories—unless perhaps they had reached a much higher level of power.

But Ivy's level was still too low. The corpses she could raise were only up to five levels above her, while the one Oliver had was clearly that of a High-Level Cultivator compared to Earth's current standards.

"There might be someone who can actually do it," Rebecca said in a softer voice.

"Who?" Oliver asked immediately, surprised by her words—since he himself had been pessimistic and didn't expect much.

"Someone with soul-based powers. But that person is far away, in Southeast Asia. What I'm worried about is the price you'd have to pay for their help."

"Would the payment be in money?" Oliver asked.

"It would be wonderful if it were that simple… but what if the price is rare treasures?"

"Would you come with me to meet them?"

Oliver was deeply interested in trying.

For him, obtaining that method wouldn't just mean mastering the Absolute Fusion Technique—it would mean having a priceless technique in his possession.

The Absolute Fusion Technique was considered extraordinary. Who knew how many Cultivators would want it, since it could grant them remarkable abilities?

"Now?" Rebecca asked.

"Yes, now," Oliver replied.

"Hahaha, alright, I'll help you. I'm sure you'll repay the favor someday. Head to the airport—we'll meet there. We'll take my high-speed jet, so we can reach Southeast Asia in three hours."

"Okay, I'll head over now," Oliver said.

The manifestation that was at the cemetery immediately returned to his room.

He wouldn't go in his real body, but with his manifestation. After all, he wasn't entirely sure what this trip would bring, so he had to be cautious.

Southeast Asia was not an easy region to visit.

It was a rather chaotic area, where Awakeners and Cultivators wielded great power and were notorious for their lawless behavior—even if their strength was far below that of Europe's.

His manifestation left without carrying much—just the Observation Ring holding the corpse and a few items.

He didn't want his mother to know he was leaving, so he jumped from the second-floor window, left the compound on foot, and then took a taxi to the airport.

His real body remained at home so that his mother wouldn't know he was traveling to Southeast Asia.

The airport was located on the outskirts of the city. Oliver had never flown before, so he had never been there—only passed by it.

The taxi dropped him off in front of the busy main entrance.

Not sure what to do, he simply stood there in confusion, waiting for Rebecca, who seemed to be running late.

Before long, he saw her car approaching—windows down.

From his observation, she had come in her real body. Perhaps her manifestation was still busy in the Chaotic World.

But he didn't just see her. Edward was sitting in the passenger seat.

"Oliver!" the man greeted him warmly with a genuine smile.

Seeing him, Oliver couldn't help feeling awkward, remembering what had happened with Rebecca the night before.

It was one thing to share a bed, but they hadn't just hugged—they had even kissed briefly.

Even though the two had broken off their engagement and their relationship hadn't been built on feelings, Oliver still felt guilty.

Edward was the first to get out of the car, dressed casually in shorts.

Rebecca, on the other hand, wore an elegant black dress, her hair flowing loosely.

"Wait a moment," Rebecca said from inside the car before heading somewhere else.

Oliver wasn't sure what she was up to.

"Edward…" he greeted.

Edward smiled, and when he reached him, he said, "Looks like you're getting close to Rebecca—close enough to go to Southeast Asia together."

Oliver: "…"

Hearing that, it was hard to hide his awkwardness.

But Edward chuckled and patted his shoulder.

"Don't worry. Don't think I'm jealous. She and I have already ended our engagement—and I was the one who ended it. I thought we had a chance as a couple, but she was too selfish. She only wanted me to help her interests. She even had the nerve to insult me, saying I'd be a pathetic poor man if I wasn't born into the Rothschild family. I know she's approaching you now and might try to seduce you, but be careful—don't fall for it. You already have a loyal girlfriend like Ivy, who's also incredibly capable. It would be a shame to lose Ivy because of a woman like Rebecca."

So who actually ended the engagement? Oliver wondered.

According to Rebecca's version, she was the one who had broken it off.

It seemed the two had fought after he and Ivy left, and each came away with their own story.

But it also seemed Edward had grown tired of being used by Rebecca and had reached his limit.

Oliver had once thought it was harsh for Edward not to help his fiancée, but if she was exploiting him too often, his decision made sense.

He himself wouldn't stand being treated that way.

Of course, unlike Edward, Oliver would never allow a woman like Rebecca to take advantage of him—he would be the one making use of her.

He had plenty of experience with women, and he had never been at a loss when one tried to profit from him after giving him pleasure with their body.
